Lennox Only One 7, Wynot Expos (Neb.) 4

MITCHELL — Lennox Only One used a four-run ninth inning to earn a come-from-behind win over the Wynot Expos (Neb.) at the Class B amateur baseball tournament on Friday at Cadwell Park.

Brock Anderson took the win for Lennox, allowing four runs on nine hits in six innings, while striking out five.

Cam Wulf led Lennox with three hits in four at bats, while Corey Vasquez added two hits and two RBI. Drew Sweeter led with three RBI. Wulf, Vasquez, and Sweeter each smacked one home run on the day. Wulf and Sweeter each went long in the fifth inning, while Vasquez homered in the ninth inning.

Jaelen Wieseler took the loss for Wynot, giving up three runs on four hits and striking out two in 4 â…“ innings.

Wynot tallied 11 hits on the day, with Devin Lammers going 3-for-5 at the plate to lead the Expos. Wieseler, James Kaiser, and Lee Heimes each had two hits, while Kaiser, Peyton Wieseler, Landon Wieseler, and Scott Morrison each had one RBI.

Dimock/Emery Raptors 13, Hartford/Humboldt Gamecocks 0 (7 innings)

MITCHELL — Sam Arend drove in seven runs and Phil Johnson struck out nine batters to power Dimock-Emery to a Class B amateur baseball tournament win over the Hartford/Humboldt Gamecocks on Friday. 

Arend finished 2 of 3 and crushed a three-run homer over the 340-foot left field fence in the fourth inning. Peyton Nash added three hits, while Jason Schmidt and Gene Kitchens added two hits. Drew Kitchens, Sam Pischke, Chase Arend, Sam Michels and Caleb Crist each had a hit. Mitchels drove in two runs, while Drew Kitchens and Crist each drove in a run. 

Johnson scattered four hits and issued zero walks on 68 pitches. 

For the Gamecocks, Broc Haldeman had two hits. Cameron Quigley and Chad Morrison each had hits. Brandon McKnight allowed seven hits, four earned runs and struck out one batter in his 3.2-inning start.


Canova Gang 3, Tabor Bluebirds 2 (10 innings)

MITCHELL — Tim Gassman’s walk-off single in the bottom of the tenth inning propelled the Canova Gang to a win over the Tabor Bluebirds at the Class B amateur baseball tournament at Cadwell Park.

Gassman and Garrett Gassman finished with two RBI each, while Garrett Gassman and Trey Krier led with two hits apiece.

Justin Miller led Canova to the win on the hill, allowing one hit and zero runs in one inning, while striking out two. Derek Miller started the game for Canova, giving up two runs on nine hits in nine innings, while striking out seven and walking one.

Bryce Scieszinski took the loss for Tabor, allowing four hits and three runs in two innings, while striking out four and walking four. Riley Rothschadl started the game for Tabor, giving up one run on three hits in seven innings, while striking out eight and walking three.

Rothschadl, Joey Slama, and Austin White had two hits apiece to lead Tabor, while Rothschadl and Tyler Edler each had one RBI.
