Flandreau's Claire Sheppard announces commitment to SDSU

Flandreau’s Claire Sheppard tweeted her intentions to play college basketball at South Dakota State University on Friday. 

Sheppard, a 6-foot-1 forward, averaged 15.6 points and 3.6 rebounds per game for the Fliers this past season. She reportedly also had offers from Nebraska, Colorado State, Creighton, Montana State and South Dakota. 

A junior-to-be, Sheppard led Flandreau to an 18-4 record this past season and she’s a two-time all-state selection. She logged 18.1 points and 7.4 rebounds during her freshman campaign in the 2020-21 season.
