FARGO — Huron sophomore Moses Kayden Gross had a brilliant second day at the USA Wrestling 16U National Championships. The state champion from Huron lost early Friday but rallied to win eight consecutive matches. 

In his last match of the night Gross lost 4-0 to Max Shaw of Pennsylvania. Gross was the highest place winner from Team South Dakota’s 16U team and will wrestle for fifth place this afternoon. 

Sunday morning saw South Dakota’s Junior Freestyle wrestlers begin tournament action. Four wrestlers, Ayson Rice (Canton), Logan Graf (Rapid City Stevens), Luke Rasmussen (Brookings) and Sloan Johannsen (Watertown) advanced to wrestle on Monday.
