Mount Vernon/Plankinton 67, Kimball/White Lake 37

WHITE LAKE — Emilee Fox and Maria Baker combined for 34 points to power Mount Vernon/Plankinton to a girls basketball win over Kimball/White Lake on Friday. 

Fox finished with 19 points, while Baker scored 15 points. Cally Faulhaber added nine points, while Reagan Rus and Shyla Tobin scored seven points apiece. 

KWL’s Ryann Nielson and Harley Namanny scored 13 points apiece. Kate Havlik scored six points.

 

Herreid/Selby Area 62, North Central 22 

BOWDLE — Jenisa Berens and Kendall Sawinsky combined for 48 points to power Herreid/Selby Area to a girls basketball win over North Central on Friday. 

Berens posted 27 points and hit three 3-pointers. Sawinsky added 21 points, while Jada Rossow recorded six points.

North Central’s Lily Beadle scored eight points. Hope Hoerner collected eight rebounds.

Dakota Valley 61, Tri-Valley 47

COLTON — Class A No. 4 Dakota Valley had four players score in double-figures to secure a girls basketball win over Tri-Valley on Friday.

Jorja Van Den Hul scored 16 points, while Rylee Rosenquist tallied 14 points and Grace Bass netted 11 points. Brooke Carlson added 10 points.

For Tri-Valley, Lauren Grinde tallied 17 points and Paige Jewett added 16 points.


Viborg-Hurley 56, Baltic 54

BALTIC — Viborg-Hurley edged Baltic in a girls basketball game on Friday.

Denae Mach led the Cougars with 15 points, nine rebounds, and four assists, while Coral Mason tallied 12 points and seven rebounds. Charley Nelson recorded eight points and Estelle Lee added seven points.

For Baltic, Cami Artz netted a game-high 18 points, while Berklee Erickson scored 12 points and Sami Polzin added 11 points.


Hanson 70, Canistota 28

CANISTOTA — Hanson used a 16-2 first quarter to race past Canistota in a girls basketball game on Friday.

Annalyse Weber led the Beavers with 21 points, nine rebounds, four steals, and three assists. Alyssa Moschell tallied 12 points, while Erin Dewald recorded 10 points. Vanessa Doyle added nine points.

The Hawks were led by Kayla Papendick with 10 points, while Natalie Becker added eight points and six rebounds. Hannah Hoffman recorded five steals.


Sioux Falls Christian 53, Madison 25

MADISON — Ellie Lems and Kylah vanDonkersgoed combined for 28 points to power Sioux Falls Christian to a girls basketball win over Madison on Friday. 

Lems finished with 16 points and four rebounds, while vanDonkersgoed added 12 points, four rebounds and three steals. Jaxsyn Swift recorded eight points and Mya Nelson scored five points. Moriah Harrison grabbed seven rebounds.

Madison’s Zoey Gerry recorded 11 points and six rebounds. Audrey Nelson added nine points and four rebounds. 


Lennox 46, Platte-Geddes 37

LENNOX — Lennox picked up a girls basketball win over Platte-Geddes on Friday.

Andie Peters scored 15 points, while Dani Highum added 10 points.

For PG, Karly VanDerWerff tallied 13 points and Regan Hoffman added 10 points.


Brandon Valley 43, Pierre 41

BRANDON — Class AA No. 3 Brandon Valley edged Pierre in a girls basketball game on Friday.

Hilary Behrens netted a game-high 18 points, while Tessa Bowar recorded 16 points.

For Pierre, Avery Kaiser scored 17 points and Reese Terwillinger added 13 points.


Huron 55, Spearfish 38

HURON — Huron pulled away from Spearfish to pick up a girls basketball win on Friday.

Hamtyn Heinz recorded 17 points and four steals, while Heaven Gainey netted 11 points and eight rebounds. Isabella Shreeve added eight points.

The Spartans were led by Mya Kochuten with 14 points.


Webster Area 53, Great Plains Lutheran 42

WATERTOWN — Webster Area had three players score in double-figures as they defeated Great Plains Lutheran in a girls basketball game on Friday.

Paige Snell totaled 16 points for the Bearcats. Jaiden Bauer scored 12 points and Erin Case added 11 points.

For GPL, Halle Bauer scored 15 points, while Madeline Prahl netted 12 points and Mali York added nine points.


Boys basketball

Flandreau 71, McCook Central/Montrose 53

MONTROSE — Tash Lunday powered Flandreau to a boys basketball win over McCook Central/Montrose on Friday.

Lunday finished with 35 points, finishing 11 of 20 from the field and 11 of 16 at the free-throw line. He added seven rebounds. Chase LeBrun recorded 16 points and nine rebounds. Liam Streitz and Luke Sheppard finished with eight points apiece. 

MCM’s Boston Katzer scored 14 points, while Owen Alley and Carter Jandl scored 10 points apiece. Gavin Gordon had six points and five rebounds. 


Dakota Valley 66, Tri-Valley 32

COLTON — Class A No. 1 Dakota Valley jumped out to a 25-10 first-quarter lead and topped Tri-Valley in boys basketball action on Friday. 

Jaxson Wingert led the way with 15 points, while Isaac Bruns netted 14 points. Randy Rosenquist scored 11 points.

Tri-Valley’s Lance DeWitt scored 10 points. 


Sioux Falls Christian 50, Madison 34

MADISON — Sioux Falls Christian picked up a boys basketball win over Madison on Friday.

Ethan Bruns led the Chargers with 11 points. Brooks Nelson recorded 10 points and Tayton Snyder netted eight points. Jaden Witte and Nathan Koole each added seven points.

For Madison, Aspen Dahl tallied a game-high 15 points, along with seven rebounds. Aiden Jensen scored nine points and Cody Klein grabbed eight boards. 


Brandon Valley 60, Pierre 57 (OT)

PIERRE — Brandon Valley outlasted Pierre in a boys basketball overtime contest on Friday. 

Brandon Valley’s Lukas Morgan led the Lynx with 15 points, while Riley Miller scored 14 points. Josh Olthoff recorded 12 points and six rebounds. Nate Vandeberg scored 10 points.

Pierre’s Lincoln Kienholz tossed in 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Jackson Edman logged a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double, while Matthew Hanson scored 11 points. 


Webster Area 68, Aberdeen Roncalli 39 

ABERDEEN — Jaydon Keller and Jacob Pereboom combined for 50 points and 21 rebounds to power Webster Area to a boys basketball win over Aberdeen Roncalli on Friday. 

Keller finished with 30 points and 12 rebounds, while Pereboom added 20 points and nine boards. 

Webster Area’s Keegan Stewart had nine points, while Zee Mounga had eight points. Maddox Miller and Jayden Monroe scored seven points apiece. 


Milbank 47, Florence-Henry 44

MILBANK — Milbank outscored Florence-Henry 15-7 in the fourth quarter to secure a boys basketball victory on Friday. 

Wylie Mursu led Milbank with 16 points and five rebounds. Bennett Schwenn logged 14 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Garrett Mertens added five points. 

Florence-Henry’s Tegan Sumner had a game-high 17 points. Ethan Paulson posted nine points, while Andrew Schroeder added eight points. Mehki Keller had seven points and seven rebounds. 


Wilmot 43, Waverly-South Shore 38

WILMOT — Wilmot edged Waverly-South Shore in a boys basketball game on Friday.

Wilmot’s Trey Jurgens scored 15 points, while Ben Kasuske tallied nine points. Parker Steege and Dennis Creadon each netted six points.

For WSS, Cooper Schmit scored 17 points and Landon Maag added nine points.


Sioux Falls O’Gorman 56, Sioux Falls Lincoln 45

SIOUX FALLS — Class AA No. 2 Sioux Falls O’Gorman held off Sioux Falls Lincoln for a boys basketball win on Friday. 

John Costello led the Knights with 21 points, while David Alpers put in 11 points. 

Lincoln’s Saif Shah scored 12 points, while J.T. Rock added 10 points. 


Chamberlain 83, Cheyenne-Eagle Butte 58

EAGLE BUTTE — Four players scored in double figures to power Chamberlain to a boys basketball win over Cheyenne-Eagle Butte on Friday. 

Dakota Munger led the Cubs with 21 points, while Jeren Herron added 20 points. Sellyck McManus added 17 points and Etan Balestat recorded 13 points. Collin Two Strike logged eight points.

CEB’s Rance Harrison scored a game-high 28 points, while Kanon Keckler followed with 13 points. Elijah Brewer scored eight points and Ivis Lee added five points.
