Wessington Springs Post 14 7, Menno/Scotland Post 152 0

WESSINGTON SPRINGS — Wessington Springs Post 14 earned a shutout Legion baseball win over Menno/Scotland Post 152 on Friday.

Mason Schelske took the win for Post 14, allowing one hit and zero runs in seven innings, while striking out 18 batters.

Landon Cleveland and Cade Mohling led Post 14 with two RBI each. 

Treyton Sayler took the loss for Post 152, pitching six innings and allowing seven runs on four hits, while striking out five.

Ajay Herrboldt led Post 152 with one hit in three at bats.


Aberdeen Smittys 7, Sturgis Post 33 Titans 6

RAPID CITY — Casey Vining’s walk-off single propelled the Aberdeen Smittys to a Legion baseball win over the Sturgis Post 33 Titans on Friday.

Jaiden Smith took the win for the Aberdeen Smittys, allowing two runs on one hit and striking out three in 1 ⅔ innings. Vining started the game for the Aberdeen Smittys, lasting 5 ⅓ innings, while allowing five hits and four runs and striking out two.

Josh Steinwandt and Drew Salfrank led the Aberdeen Smittys with two hits apiece.

Owen Cass took the loss for the Sturgis Post 33 Titans, allowing eight hits and seven runs in 6 ⅓ innings, while striking out six and walking one.

Ridge Inhofer led the Sturgis Post 33 Titans with two hits in four at bats, while Cass and Sam Kooima each drove in two runs.


Aberdeen Smittys 10, Belle Fourche Post 32 7

RAPID CITY — The Aberdeen Smittys held off Belle Fourche Post 32 for a Legion baseball win on Friday.

Brian Holmstrom took the win for the Aberdeen Smittys, allowing five runs on five hits in five innings, while striking out three and walking one.

Aberdeen racked up 13 hits, with Brock Martin going 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Smittys. Carter Dingman, Casey Vining, and Drew Salfrank each had two hits.

Dalton Davis took the loss for Post 32, pitching five innings and allowing 13 hits and ten runs, while striking out six.

Ryker Audiss led Post 32 with two hits in three at bats.


Post 74 Bandits 1, Sioux Falls Post 15 West 0

BROOKINGS — The Post 74 Bandits outlasted Sioux Falls Post 15 West in a Legion baseball game on Friday.

Breck Hirrschoff led the Post 74 Bandits on the mound, giving up zero runs on four hits in seven innings, while striking out six.

Justin Cofell led the Post 74 Bandits with two hits in four at bats, while Zach Struck drove in the lone run.

Brayden Byrum took the loss for Sioux Falls Post 15 West, allowing three hits and one run in ⅔ of an inning, while striking out one and walking one. Dexter Payne started the game for Sioux Falls Post 15 West, allowing four hits and zero runs in six innings, while striking out four.

Byrum, Treyson Harty-Olson, Jordyn Kinzer, and Ryan Rysavy each had one hit for Sioux Falls Post 15 West.

The Post 74 Bandits also won Game 2 by a score of 11-4.


Mitchell Post 18 4, Yankton Post 12 1

YANKTON — Mitchell Post 18 picked up a Legion baseball win over Yankton Post 12 on Friday.

Jake Helleloid earned the win for Mitchell Post 18, allowing five hits and one run in seven innings, while striking out nine.

Jace Larson led Post 18 with two hits in three at bats.

Drew Ryken took the loss for Yankton Post 12, allowing seven hits and four runs, while striking out five and walking one in seven innings.

Jace McCorkell led Post 12 with two hits in three at bats. Ryken, Joe Gokie, and Dylan Prouty each added one hit.

Mitchell Post 18 also won Game 2, 7-1.


Harrisburg Tigers 13, Post 15 East 3

SIOUX FALLS — The Harrisburg Tigers raced past Post 15 East for a Legion baseball win on Friday.

Brandon Simunek took the win for Harrisburg, allowing one run on three hits in two innings. Jack Sutton started the game for Harrisburg, allowing two runs on zero hits in two innings, while striking out four.

Taylor Klein, Noah Boschee, and Teigan Munce each recorded two hits to lead Harrisburg. Lincoln Carlson drove in three runs, while Boschee and Munce drove in two runs apiece.

John Dekkenga took the loss for Post 15 East, allowing five hits and four runs in three innings, while striking out four.


Spearfish Post 164 11, Belle Fourche Post 32 8

BELLE FOURCHE — Spearfish Post 164 held off Belle Fourche Post 32 for a Legion baseball win on Friday.

Carter Lyon took the win for Post 164, allowing two runs on two hits in 1 ⅔ innings, while striking out one. Aiden Meverden started the game for Post 164, allowing eight hits and six runs in 5 ⅓ innings, while striking out three.

Alec Sundsted led Post 164 with three hits in four at bats, while Braden Ericks and Aiden Haught each had two hits. Jonathan Bloom drove in two runs.

Darian Pesicka took the loss for Post 32, giving up one run on three hits in one inning, while walking one. Sean Wahlfeldt started the game for Post 32, allowing three hits and five runs in 4 ⅓ innings, while striking out two. 

Carsyn Hahne, Brayden Carbajal, Harvey Walding, and Ryker Audiss each recorded two hits, while Hahne drove in three runs and Walding drove in two runs.


Elk Point-Jefferson 8, Garretson 5

GARRETSON — Elk Point-Jefferson scored six runs in the fifth inning to come from behind and beat Garretson in a Legion baseball game on Friday.

Ben Swatek picked up the win for Elk Point-Jefferson, allowing two hits and one run in four innings, while striking out three. Hunter Geary started the game for Elk Point-Jefferson, allowing four hits and four runs, while striking out two in three innings.

Jordan Anderson led Elk Point-Jefferson with three hits in three at bats, while Geary and Ty Trometer each had two hits. Trometer and Anderson also drove in two runs apiece.

Jake Schroeder took the loss for Garretson, pitching one inning and allowing four runs and three hits, while striking out one.

Cole Koch, Jayse Miller, and Ryan Flanagan each drove in one run for Garretson.


Madison Post 25 6, Canova Gang 2

MADISON — Madison Post 25 pulled away from the Canova Gang for a Legion baseball win on Friday.

Riley Kearin took the victory for Post 25, allowing one run on four hits and striking out six in six innings.

Trey Smith led Post 25 with two hits in three at bats, while Nathan Ricke and Peyton Wolf each drove in two runs.

Jack Neises took the loss for the Canova Gang, giving up six runs on five hits in three innings, while striking out four.

Lane Miller led the Canova Gang with two hits in four at bats. Luke Koepsell and Griffin Clubb each drove in one run.


Post 174 5, Post 911 Chargers 4

LENNOX — Post 174 held off the Post 911 Chargers for a Legion baseball win on Friday.

Conner Eich took the win for Post 174, giving up four runs on three hits in six innings, while striking out eight.

Eich and Brandon Fodness each had two hits to lead Post 174, while James Bondeson drove in two runs.

Caden Reitz took the loss for the Post 911 Chargers, pitching four innings and allowing four runs on six hits and striking out four.

Kaden Huyser led the Post 911 Chargers with two hits in three at bats, while Tim DeSautel drove in two runs.


Post 1 4, Tabor Post 183 1

VERMILLION — Post 1 picked up a Legion baseball win over Tabor Post 183 on Friday.

Jake Jensen earned the win for Post 1, allowing one run on seven hits, while striking out five in seven innings.

Willis Robertson led Post 1 with three hits

Dustin Honomichl led Tabor Post 183 on the mound, giving up four runs on seven hits in five innings, while striking out one.

Riley Rothschadl led Tabor Post 183 with two hits with three at bats. Honomichl drove in one run.


Post 320 Stars 11, Spearfish Post 164 1

RAPID CITY — The Post 320 Stars flew past Spearfish Post 164 for a Legion baseball win on Friday.

James Rogers earned the win for the Post 320 Stars, allowing one run on two hits in five innings, while striking out seven.

Bryan Roselles led the Post 320 Stars with two hits. James Furchner drove in three runs and Lane Darrow drove in two runs.

Cody Chapman led Post 164 on the hill, giving up eight runs on seven hits in 3 ⅔ innings, while striking out three.

Kaidon Feyereisen and Alec Sundsted each had one hit for Post 164.
