MOUNT VERNON — Mount Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica/Stickney scored two runs in the fifth inning to earn a Legion baseball win over Alexandria on Sunday.

Hayden Plamp took the win for the Padres, allowing two hits and zero runs, while striking out two and walking one in one inning. Mason Hetland started the game for the Padres, pitching four innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out five.

Drew Gerlach led the Padres with two hits in two at bats.

Jayden Kayser took the loss for Alexandria, allowing two runs and four hits in six innings, while striking out eight.


Tabor Post 183 5, Dakota Valley Post 319 4

HUMBOLDT — A walk-off single in the seventh inning propelled Tabor Post 183 to a Legion baseball win over Dakota Valley Post 319 on Sunday.

Trent Herrboldt earned the win for Tabor Post 183 giving up four runs on seven hits in seven innings, while striking out seven.

Tabor Post 183 tallied 11 hits, with Nolan Dvorak leading the way with three hits in four at bats. Herrboldt, Riley Rothschadl, and Logan Winckler each added two hits. Herrboldt also drove in two runs.

Isaac Klemme took the loss for Dakota Valley Post 319, allowing four hits and one run in two innings, while walking one. Ethan Anema started the game for Post 319, giving up four runs on seven hits in four innings, while striking out three.

Jaxon Hennies went 3-for-3 at the plate, while Jake Pruchniak added two hits. Hennies and Pruchniak each drove in two runs.


Dell Rapids Post 65 7, Tabor Post 183 2

HUMBOLDT — Dell Rapids Post 65 picked up a Legion baseball win over Tabor Post 183 on Sunday.

Landon Ruesink was on the mound for Dell Rapids Post 65, pitching seven innings, allowing six hits and two runs, striking out seven and walking one.

Ruesink led Dell Rapids Post 65 with three hits in four at bats and two RBI, while Mason Stubbe and C.J. Smith added two hits apiece. Dylan Mathis, Will Jaton, and Treyse Eastman each drove in one run.

Carter Uecker led Tabor Post 183 on the mound, allowing 11 hits and six runs in five innings, while striking out five.

Dustin Honomichl led Tabor Post 183 with two hits in three at bats.

GREGORY — Bryce Frank’s big day led Gregory County to a Legion baseball win over Menno/Scotland on Sunday.

Frank tallied three hits and drove in four runs. Gannon Thomas added three hits.

Ben Witt was on the hill for Gregory County, giving up three runs on two hits in 1 ⅓ innings, while striking out three.

Karson Bierle took the loss for Menno/Scotland, allowing five hits and four runs in 4 ⅔ innings, while striking out two.

Brayden Sattler and Austin Pillsbury each had two hits to lead Menno/Scotland, while Sattler drove in two runs. Pillsbury added one RBI.


Gallatin Valley (Mont.) 12, Mitchell Post 18 4

GILLETTE, Wyo. — Mitchell Post 18 dropped a Legion baseball game against Gallatin Valley (Mont.) on Sunday.

Jake Helleloid took the loss for Mitchell Post 18, giving up nine runs on six hits in three innings, while striking out five.

Jonah Schmidt and Jace Larson each recorded two hits to lead Post 18.


Watertown Post 17 2, Post 150 Lions (Minn.) 1

MARSHALL, Minn. — Watertown Post 17 scored one run in the ninth inning to break a 1-1 tie and pick up a Legion baseball win over the Post 150 Lions on Sunday.

Weston Everson took the win for Watertown Post 17, pitching two innings and allowing zero runs on one hit, while striking out one and walking one.

Watertown Post 17 totaled eight hits, with Ben Althoff recording three hits in five at bats and RBI, while Braedon Zaug added two hits.
