Gregory County 6, Menno/Scotland 3

MENNO — Gregory County plated four runs in the final two innings to secure a Legion baseball win over Menno/Scotland on Sunday. 

Ben Witt led Gregory County with two hits and two RBI. Sawyer Tietgen, Rylan Peck and Gunner Stephens each had a hit. Witt struck out three batters, allowed two hits, two earned runs and walked two batters in his 3.1-inning start. 

Menno/Scotland’s Treyton Sayler finished 2 of 3 and drove in two runs. Tyrus Bietz, Austin Pillsbury, Jacob Schott, Austin Herrboldt and Karson Bierle each had a hit. Schott was tagged with the loss after he allowed five hits, three runs (two earned), one walk and struck out 11 batters in his six-inning start. 

Fremont First State Bank 8, Mitchell Post 18 0

RAPID CITY — Fremont First State Bank picked up a shutout win over Mitchell Post 18 in a Legion baseball game on Sunday.

Carter Sintek earned the win for Fremont First State Bank, pitching four innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, while striking out eight.

Fremont First State Bank totaled ten hits, with Jax Sorenson leading the way with three hits in three at bats. Sintek, Quinn Gossett, and Julius Cortes each tallied two hits, while Cortes drove in three runs.

Peyton Schroder took the loss for Post 18, allowing seven hits and five runs in four innings, while striking out two. Peyton Mandel had one hit in two at bats to lead Post 18.

Yankton Post 12 6, Post 15 East 3

YANKTON — Yankton Post 12 earned a Legion baseball win against Post 15 East on Sunday.

Drew Ryken picked up the win for Post 12, pitching six innings, allowing three runs on six hits and striking out three batters. Post 12 had nine hits, with Lucas Kampshoff, Landon Loecker, and Cody Oswald tallying two hits apiece.

Andrew Glovich took the loss for Post 15 East, going 2 ⅓ innings while allowing seven hits and six runs and striking out three. Ethan Bruns led Post 15 East with three hits in four at bats. Cael Swanson and Gage Sharping each had two hits in three at bats.

Lincoln Southeast 14, Yankton Post 12 6

YANKTON — A seven run first inning propelled Lincoln Southeast to a Legion baseball win over Yankton Post 12 on Sunday.

Gavin Clauss picked up the win for Lincoln Southeast, giving up four runs on five hits in five innings, while striking out six. Clauss also led Lincoln Southeast with three hits in four at bats.

Mac Ryken took the loss for Post 12, giving up seven runs on four hits in one inning.

Drew Ryken led Post 12 with two hits in two at bats and three RBI’s, while Lucas Kampshoff added two stolen bases.
