Wolsey-Wessington 3, Burke 1

SIOUX FALLS — Wolsey-Wessington earned a four-set win over Burke to claim third place at the Class B state volleyball tournament on Saturday. The set scores were 19-25, 25-19, 26-24 and 26-24. 

Wolsey-Wessington’s Leah Williams led with 17 kills and 26 digs with Mya Boomsma having 11 kills and 14 digs. Lainey Uttecht had 28 digs and Mallory Miller had seven kills, three digs and four blocks. Taylor Horn had eight digs and two blocks and Emree White had four kills, four digs and four blocks. 

Burke was led by Adisyn Indahl who had 20 kills and 25 digs. Kailee Frank finished with 15 kills and 18 digs and Elly Witt had 23 assists and six digs. Ava Sargent had 18 assists and 13 digs while Paige Bull finished with 11 kills and two blocks.

Elk Point-Jefferson 3, Miller 1

SIOUX FALLS — Elk Point-Jefferson picked up a four-set win over Miller to claim third place at the Class A state volleyball tournament on Saturday. The set scores were 18-25, 25-21, 25-21 and 25-22. 

Elk Point-Jefferson’s Danica Torrez led with 12 kills and 13 digs while Alyssa Chytka had 27 digs. Sophia Giorgio had 38 assists and 12 digs and Natalie Heuertz had ten kills, four digs and five blocks. Hannah Nearman finished with 13 digs and Kaitlyn Van Roekel had nine kills. 

Miller was led by Jaden Werdel who had 14 kills, two blocks and nine digs. Tyra Gates had 36 assists and 16 digs and Jolie Palmer had 25 digs. Tricia Lammers had nine kills and three digs and Ally Mullaney had seven kills, two digs and three blocks.

 

 


Sioux Falls Washington 3, Sioux Falls O’Gorman 1

SIOUX FALLS — Sioux Falls Washington picked up a four-set win over Sioux Falls O’Gorman to finish in third place at the Class AA state volleyball tournament on Saturday. The set scores were 25-27, 25-21, 25-19 and 25-18. 

Sioux Falls Washington’s Joslyn Richardson led with 26 kills and 19 digs and Carlie Beckstrand had 12 kills. Macie Malchow had 49 assists and Cate Legel finished with 21 digs and nine kills. Grace Nesdahl had eight kills with Taryn Kirsch and Anessa Hosman contributing 19 and 15 kills respectively. 

Bergen Reilly led Sioux Falls O’Gorman with 22 kills and 20 digs with Brooke Harvison having 40 assists and 13 digs. Gabriella Jones and Meghan Tiahrt had 24 and 17 digs respectively. Keira McManus and Maggie Noonan both contributed five kills for the Knights.
