Sioux Falls O’Gorman junior Bergen Reilly has been named 2021-22 Gatorade South Dakota volleyball player of the year, Gatorade announced in a release Tuesday. Reilly is the third Gatorade South Dakota volleyball player of the year from O’Gorman and it’s her second year in a row receiving the honor.

Reilly led the Knights to a second-straight Class AA state championship. In her junior season, she recorded a .341 hitting percentage, 197 kills, 3.0 kills/set, 43 service aces, 393 assists and 6.0 assists/set. Reilly has committed to play at the University of Nebraska.

“Bergen is a one-of-a-kind player,” O’Gorman head coach Cale Hecht said in the release. “What she does for the team is more than just her stats. I like to describe Bergen as a Swiss Army Knife of volleyball because she is that skilled in all facets.”

Reilly spent part of the 2021 O'Gorman season in Mexico after qualifying for the Team USA U18 National Team, where she and her Team USA teammates picked up a bronze medal at the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Girls' U18 World Championship.
