MITCHELL — Winner is back in the semifinals for the fifth straight year after the Pheasants took care of Kimball-White Lake 5-0 Friday night.

Winner took a 2-0 lead after the first inning and added a run in the second, fourth and ninth innings.

JJ Farner limited the Nationals to just four hits while striking out five and walking two.

Jeff Harris led Winner at the plate with three hits while Dillon Lambley, Zach Harter and Derek Graesser each added two hits.

Zak Wallner took the loss for the Nationals, pitching a complete game, giving up five runs on 12 hits. He struck out eight and walked four.

Winner will meet the Dell Rapids Mudcats after they defeated Larchwood 7-1 in Friday’s earlier game.

The Mudcats took a 2-0 lead after the first inning and added a run in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings before adding two more in the eighth.

Chad Hunt led Dell Rapids with four hits, Josh Roemen had three hits and Matt Burpee added two hits.

Kris Regas picked up the win for the Mudcats, pitching eight innings, giving up one run on eight hits. He struck out 10 and walked three.
