FREEMAN — Freeman Academy/Marion’s Finley McConniel and Chester’s Emmerson Eppard win individual titles at Wednesday’s Flyer Invitational run at the Valley View Golf Course.

McConniel, one of the top runners in Class B, won the race (17:16), just ahead of Freeman freshman Lane McCune (17:35) and Elk Point-Jefferson’s Maxon Mark (18:19). McCrossan’s Ethan Hartung (18:33) and Gayville-Volin’s Will Pirak (19:43) rounded out the top-five boys runners. 

Eppard won the girls race (20:57) finishing well in front of Gayville-Volin’s Jolie Westrum (21:52) and Chester’s Claire McDonald (22:17). Menno’s Zoe Schaeffer (22:36) and Dell Rapids St. Mary’s Elizabeth Vogel (22:43) rounded out the top-five girls finishers.

Elk Point-Jefferson won the boys team title with 15 points. No team results for the girls race were not kept.
