SIOUX FALLS — Brandon Valley came back from a two-set deficit to reverse sweep Aberdeen Central for seventh place at the Class AA state volleyball tournament. The set scores were 23-25, 19-25, 25-20, 25-19, and 15-13.

BV’s Jayaunna Stroh tallied 19 kills and 21 digs, Abby Gruber had 12 kills and five blocks, Riya Sheley recorded 30 assists, 12 digs and four blocks, Kennedi Boomsma racked up 16 kills and two blocks, Logan McGuire had 22 assists, 10 digs and three aces, while Ashley Ertelt tallied nine kills and three digs in the victory.

AC’s Lauryn Burckhard recorded 14 kills and nine digs, Alivia Miller tallied 33 assists, 19 digs and four kills, Kenadi Withers tallied 13 kills, 19 digs and three assists, Kamdyn Borge recorded 12 kills and three digs, while Taylin Kleffman totaled 24 digs and two aces in the loss.

Sioux Falls Roosevelt 3, Watertown 2

SIOUX FALLS — Sioux Falls Roosevelt comes out on top as it outlasted Watertown in a five-set bruiser to take the Class AA consolation championship. The set scores were 18-25, 26-24, 25-23, 18-25, and 15-13.

Roosevelt’s Kaylee Evenson tallied 29 kills, 17 digs and three assists, Avery Allenstein had 10 kills, three digs and two blocks, Izzy Brinkman recorded nine kills, 26 digs, two assists, two aces and two blocks, Kate Wiebesiek tallied 45 assists, 18 digs and four kills, Katie Bleeker recorded 21 digs and five assists, while Christy Moncur had 14 digs and three aces in the win.

Watertown’s Emery Thury had a game-high 25 kills and 17 digs, Grace Corey tallied 45 assists, 13 digs, two blocks, two kills, and two aces, Anna Hirtz had 11 kills and three digs, Madisyn Grimsrud recorded 10 kills, five blocks and three aces, Emma Hendricks had 17 digs and five aces, Natalie Pearson tallied 25 digs, while Kynslee Johnson totaled 12 digs in the loss.
