Elk Point/Jefferson 10, Parkston 6 

SALEM — Keaton Gale and Ty Trometer drove in three runs apiece as Elk Point/Jefferson topped Parkston in the second round of the State B tournament Saturday.

Gale batted 1-for-3 with three RBIs, Trometer drove in three runs on two hits including a double, while Kayden Moore, Ethan Bovill, Brody Van Roekel, and Jacob Gale each had a hit and an RBI in the win.

Bovill tossed three shutout innings in the win, allowing two hits and two walks while tossing two strikeouts.

For Parkston, Luke Bormann allowed five runs on five hits and a walk in three innings.

Carter Sommer batted 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI, James Deckert drove in three runs on one hit, Kolter Kramer collected an RBI single, while Bormann and Brody Boettcher each tallied hits in the loss.


Lake Norden/Badger 14, Platte/Geddes 4

SALEM — Ryker Warrington, Lane Tvedt, and Turner Stevenson drove in a combined seven runs as Lake Norden/Badger defeated Platte/Geddes during the Class B Legion state tournament Saturday.

Warrington batted 2-for-3 with two walks, a double, and three RBIs, Lane Tvedt drove in two runs on a walk and two hits, including a homer, Turner Stevenson drive in two runs, Tyson Stevenson collected an RBI on a single and a walk, while George Jensen drew three walks in the win.

Cristhian Rodriguez earned the victory on the mound, allowing three runs on six hits and a walk in 4.1 innings, tossing four strikeouts.

For PG, Hayden Sprik took the loss allowing six runs on five hits and two walks in three innings.

Sprik and Maddux VanZee each drove in a run on one hit, Tanner Dyk batted 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI, Kenyon Kuiper tallied two hits, while Caden Oberbroekling tallied a hit in the loss.


Groton 9, Big Stone City 0

SALEM — Three Groton pitchers combined to shutout Big Stone City in Class B state Legion baseball action on Saturday.

Ryan Groeblinghoff struck out four batters, allowed one hit and two walks in his four-inning start. Korbin Kucker added two strikeouts and allowed one hit in 1.1 relief innings. Nick Morris completed the shutout, striking out two batters and allowing one hit on 1.2 innings.

Dillon Abeln recorded three hits and drove in a run. Brevin Fliehs had two hits, a triple and knocked in four runs. Bradin Althoff knocked in two runs, while Teylor Diegel drove in a run. 

For Big Stone City, Isaac Brown, Isaac Kirchberg and Braxton Brandriet each had hits. Brown took the loss, allowing six hits, eight earned runs and one walk through 1.1 innings.

 

Dell Rapids 8, Salem/Montrose/Canova 3

SALEM — Drake Eastman’s complete game outing helped Dell Rapids defeat Salem/Montrose/Canova during the State B Legion tournament Saturday.

Eastman allowed three runs on three hits and a walk in seven innings, striking out five batters. Eastman batted 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI, Cole Ruesink batted 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Cooper Frost and CJ Smith each drove in a run on one hit, while Sutton Wiliams tallied a hit in the win as well.

For SMC, Carter Randall allowed eight runs on nine hits and four walks in 5.2 innings.

Shea Klinkhammer drove in two runs on one hit, Weston Remmers drove in a run, while Jackson Remmers and Jackson Grady each tallied hits in the loss.
