Burke 3, Kimball/White Lake 1

BURKE — Class B No. 4 Burke defeated Kimball/White Lake in four sets in high school volleyball action Thursday. Set scores were 20-25, 25-10, 25-12 and 25-21. 

Burke was led by Kailee Frank who finished with 14 kills, two aces and fourteen kills. Ava Sargent and Bridget Eliason both dished out 15 set assists for Burke. Paige Bull added eight kills and two blocks.

For Kimball/White Lake Ryann Nielsen led in set assists with 14 and kills with 10. Madison Meier had 28 digs to lead Kimball/White Lake. 


McCook Central/Montrose 3, Parker 2

PARKER — McCook Central/Montrose outlasted Parker in a five-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 27-29, 25-20, 24-26, 25-19 and 15-6.

For MCM, Kayla Vander Woude had 13 kills, while Abby Wagner posted 10 kills. Maddy Lauck recorded 33 assists, while Lexie Lunders posted 24 digs. Natalie Lueth had nine digs and three aces. Addison Gordon had eight kills. 

Parker’s Halle Berens finished with 25 kills and 11 digs. Jenna Van Velzen posted five kills and six digs. Natalie Haase added four kills. Mara Mohr recorded 20 assists, while Hannah Schaeffer posted 18 assists and five aces. Braelyn Berens logged 16 digs, two assists and two aces.


Northwestern 3, Langford Area 0

NORTHWESTERN — Class B No. 3 Northwestern swept Langford Area in three sets to earn a win in high school volleyball action Thursday. Set scores were 25-16, 25-16 and 25-19.

Ashley Haven led Northwestern with 17 kills and three aces. Ella Boekelheide led the Wildcats with 30 assists. Sophia Troske finished with 14 kills while Tara Blachford added 12 kills. 

Megan Gustafson led Langford Area with seven kills and two aces. Bayleann Moen added five kills and two aces for Langford Area. 


Sioux Falls Christian 3, Dell Rapids 1

SIOUX FALLS — Class A No. 1 Sioux Falls Christian defeated Dell Rapids in a four-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 22-25, 25-17, 25-20 and 25-22.

Sioux Falls Christian’s Taylo Byl finished with 14 kills and two blocks, while Brietta Tims added 12 kills and two blocks. Sidney Oostra posted eight kills and six digs. Lavin Maddox posted 17 digs. Addison Barber finished with 34 assists and seven digs. 

For Dell Rapids, Madelynn Henry recorded 23 kills, while Lauryn Kloth logged 11 kills. Sophi Randall finished with 10 digs and 32 assists. Alaina Wolff recorded eight digs.


Menno 3, Freeman Academy/Marion 0

MENNO — Menno swept Freeman Academy/Marion in straight sets in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-16, 25-13 and 25-15.

Menno’s Ashton Massey logged nine kills and two digs. Taylor Freier posted five kills, seven digs and four aces. Joslynn Fischer recorded four kills, 20 assists and 10 digs. 

For FAM, Emma McConniel posted four kills and 13 digs. Hailey Stahl had nine digs and two kills. Isabelle McConniel recorded eight assists. Alexa Gortmaker logged nine digs. 

Freeman 3, Howard 2 

FREEMAN — Freeman outlasted Howard in a five-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 25-16, 25-27, 25-20, 21-25 and 15-13.

Freeman’s Ashlin Jacobsen posted 15 kills, 17 digs and two solo blocks. Vaida Ammann added 13 assists and nine digs. Cami Fransen posted 24 assists, 14 digs and four aces. Ella Waltner recorded 11 kills, 14 digs and two blocks. Emily Mendel had six kills, 21 digs and four aces. Zoe Butler recorded 11 kills and 20 digs. Eric Swensen had eight digs and two aces. 

For Howard, Abby Aslesen finished with seven kills, 10 blocks, 13 digs and two aces. Tana Hoyer added six kills, three blocks, 14 assists and 30 digs. Taryn Mentele posted 13 digs and two kills. Becca Feldhaus added eight kills and two blocks. Dakota Spader and Anna Becker had 17 and 12 digs, respectively. 


Miller 3, Sully Buttes 0

ONIDA — The Miller Rustlers swept Sully Buttes in high school volleyball action Thursday night. Set scores were 25-8, 25-18 and 25-16. 

Aleah Schlechter led Miller with 10 kills and one block while Heather Rese dished out 38 set assists. Journey Palmer led the Rustlers with four aces while Jolie Palmer led the team with 16 digs. 

Stats were not reported for Sully Buttes. 


Flandreau 3, Hamlin 0

FLANDREAU — Flandreau picked up a straight sets win over Hamlin to earn a win in high school volleyball on Thursday. Set scores were 25-20, 25-17 and 25-21. 

Flandreau’s Claire Sheppard controlled the net area with 12 kills and three blocks while Lizzie Pavlis contributed nine kills and two blocks. Abby Schoeberl handed out 28 assists to lead the offense. Lilly Klein led the Flyers with 11 digs. 

Addison Neuendorf led Hamlin with nine kills while also adding nine blocks. Emily Everson drilled two aces for the Fliers.


Redfield 3, Deuel 0

DEUEL — The Redfield Pheasants swept Deuel in straight sets to pick up a high school volleyball win Thursday. Set scores were 25-20, 25-20 and 25-13. 

Katie Rozell led the Redfield offensive attack with nine kills. Hayden Gall finished with 16 assists and an ace. Chloe Zens contributed 12 digs and an ace for Redfield. 

Ella Kerkvliet led the Cardinals with three aces and 17 digs. Hope Bjerke led in hitting with seven kills. Josie Andersen finished with seven set assists and 12 digs. 


Mobridge-Pollock 3, Potter County 0

HOVEN — Mobridge-Pollock swept Potter County in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-13, 25-23 and 25-23.

Mobridge-Pollock’s Ryli Thompson finished with six kills and 10 digs. Raelyn Aberle added five kills and three digs. Charley Henderson recorded five kills  and two digs. Katy Kemnitz had 13 assists and four digs. Sophia Overland added six assists and four digs. Reagan Weisbeck, Aberle, Henderson and Kemnitz had two aces apiece.

Potter County stats were not reported. 


Centerville 3, Corsica-Stickney 0

CORSICA — Centerville swept Corsica-Stickney in straight sets in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-19, 25-15 and 25-14.

Centerville’s Thea Gust recorded 11 kills and six digs. Lillie Eide added seven digs, three kills and three blocks. Riley Tieman added seven digs and three kills. Emma Marshall posted 11 digs and two kills. Tessa Eide had seven digs. Keira Austin posted 16 assists, four digs and two kills. 

For Corsica-Stickney, Sophie DeLange finished with seven kills, eight assists and six digs. Braylee Bordewyk had eight digs, seven assists and three aces. Ashlyn Lefers finished with 11 digs. Jacey Kemp had six digs, six kills and two aces. 


Madison 3, West Central 0

MADISON — The Madison Bulldogs swept West Central in straight sets to pick up a win in high school volleyball action Thursday night. Set scores were 25-13, 25-9 and 25-23. 

Madison was led by Audrey Nelson who finished with 13 kills and three blocks. Amanda Vacanti drilled nine aces and added 13 digs. Karley Theede handed out 26 set assists while Callie BeMcDermott led the team with 14 digs. 

West Central was led by Maddy Ingalls with four kills. Addison Meadors had four aces while Ellie Lienhard dished out 13 set assists while Abby Limoges finished with 16 digs. 


Sioux Valley 3, Beresford 0

VOLGA — Sioux Valley swept Beresford in straight sets to earn a high school volleyball win on Thursday night. Set scores were 25-10, 25-15 and 25-19. 

Sioux Valley was led by Kaedyn Sapp who finished with 10 kills, nine digs and four block assists. Sunny Hesby orchestrated the offense with 32 set assists and finished with nine digs. Allie Hofer had seven kills and two digs for Sioux Valley. 

Beresford’s Makia Sharpe led with six kills while adding a dig and a block. 


Elkton-Lake Benton 3, Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 0

LAKE BENTON —- Elkton-Lake Benton swept Oldham-Ramona/Rutland in straight sets to pick up a high school volleyball win Thursday. 

For Elkton-Lake Benton, Tevan Erickson had a big night with 31 set assists, six aces and two kills. Kylie Ramlo led the team with 11 kills while Aubree Bales had two aces, seven kills and five blocks. 

For Oldham-Ramona Rutland, Julia Trygstad had four kills, an assist, a block and a dig. Emily Matson had seven set assists for ORR. 


Ipswich 3, Waubay-Summit 0

IPSWICH — Ipswich swept Waubay-Summit in three tight sets to earn a win in high school volleyball action Thursday. Set scores were 26-24, 25-19 and 25–20. 

Marley Guthmiller hit 17-of-18 serves with one ace while adding 10 kills. Josie Knutson and Reagan Bowers dished out 11 and 12 set assists respectively. Kathryn Kilber led the Tigers with 16 digs. 

No stats were reported for Waubay-Summit. 


Canistota 3, Scotland 0

SCOTLAND — Canistota swept Scotland in straight sets in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-12, 25-23 and 25-18.

Canistota’s Sierra McGregor finished with eight kills and eight digs. Ember Schenkel had five kills and Ellie Becker finished with four kills. Natalee Hofer added three kills, 15 assists, five digs and two aces. Bailey Spicer finished with seven assists and two digs. Natalie Becker posted 32 digs and Kayla Papendick added 14 digs. Emma Sandman had four kills and four digs. 

Scotland stats were not reported. 


Avon 3, Andes Central/Dakota Christian 0

AVON — Avon swept past Andes Central/Dakota Christian to pick up a win in high school volleyball action Thursday. Set scores were 25-7, 25-11 and 25-20.

For Avon, Kenna Kocmich led her team with four aces and 21 set assists. Courtney Sees continued to hit the ball well finishing with a team leading 17 kills while also adding nine digs. Jordan Voight and Lexi Vanderlei each had nine digs for Avon. 

Abigail Svatos led Andes Central/Dakota Christian with seven blocks, four kills and two aces and seven digs. Claire Johnson added two kills and six blocks for her team. 


Estelline/Hendricks 3, Wilmot 0

WILMOT — Estelline/Hendricks swept Wilmot in straight sets to earn a volleyball win Thursday night in Wilmot. Set scores were 25-9, 25-10 and 25-8. 

Stats were not reported for Estelline/Hendricks. 

For Wilmot, Addison Heinje led the squad with three kills and a block. Jada Cameron contributed a kill and an ace. Emile Metz had two aces, Addison Heinje had one block and Paige Johnson had a kill. 


Sioux Falls Washington 3, Mitchell 0

MITCHELL — Sioux Falls Washington earned a straight set victory over Mitchell in high school volleyball action Thursday. Set scores were 25-11, 25-22 and 25-13. 

Sioux Falls Washington was led by Kaelyn Snoozy who put down 10 kills and added eight digs. Cate Legal and Taryn Kirsch each contributed 13 kills for the Warriors.

Sawyer Stoebner finished with six kills for Mitchell and nine digs. Addie Siemsen finished with nine digs and three aces for Mitchell.
