LAKE ANDES — The Burke girls easily won the team title at Tuesday’s Ft. Randall Conference track and field meet.
The Burke girls amassed 206 points, finishing well ahead of second-place Corsica-Stickney (100.5) and third-place Andes Central/Dakota Christian (64).
The Corsica-Stickney and Andes Central/Dakota Christian tied for boys team title, finishing with 108 points apiece. Avon (102) placed third.
In girls action, Burke’s Piper Hanson won the 200-meter dash (:27.92), high jump (5-1) and placed second in the 400-meter dash (1:02.33).
Burke’s Kailee Frank earned first-place finishes in the 800-meter run (2:31.29) and 1,600-meter run (5:48.80). Frank ran the anchor leg on Burke’s winning 3,200-meter relay (11:09.43).
Burke’s Addi Hood swept both hurdle races, winning the 100-meter hurdles (:16.84) and 300-meter hurdles (:50.18).
Burke’s Paige Bull won the discus (142-2) and placed second in the shot put (35-3).
Burke’s Daytona Paris won the triple jump (34-2.75), placed second in the high jump (4-8) and finished second in the 100-meter hurdles (:17.07).
Scotland’s Trinity Bietz earned a first-place finish in the shot put (36-2.5) and placed second in the discus (115-11).
Corsica-Stickney Braylee Bordewyk won the 400-meter dash (1:02.04) and was on the winning 800-meter relay (1:56.95) and winning 1,600-meter relay (4:27.44).
Avon’s Courtney Sees won the long jump at 17-5, currently the top mark in Class B. Sees also ran on the winning 400-meter relay (:55.06).
In boys action, Bridgewater-Emery’s Calvary Bickett won the 100-meter dash (:11.26) and 200-meter dash (:24.08).
Colome’s Joseph Laprath was a double winner in the 800-meter run (2:03.93) and 3,200-meter run (11:35.29).
The Corsica-Stickney boys won the 400-meter relay (:45.97), 800-meter relay (1:36.27) and 3,200-meter relay (10:00.06).
Avon’s Al Gunter earned first-place finishes in the shot put (42-6), discus (135-1) and finished second in the javelin (115-9).
Andes Central/Dakota Christian’s Jamian Medicine Horn won the triple jump (40-1) and placed second in the long jump (19-5).
Burke’s Reed Benter won the 300-meter hurdles (:45.10) and ran the anchor leg on the winning 1,600-meter relay (3:47.14).
