Centerville girls, Freeman Academy/Marion boys win titles at Alcester-Hudson Invitational

ALCESTER — The Centerville girls won the girls title with 141 points, ahead of Colman-Egan (113) and Arlington (78). Elk Point-Jefferson (68) and Alcester-Hudson (40) rounded out the top-five teams. 

The Freeman Academy/Marion boys won the team title with 100 points, ahead of Centerville (80) and Alcester-Hudson (76). Beresford (74) and Colman-Egan (71.5) rounded out the top-five teams. 

Centerville’s Emery Shubeck won the 100-meter hurdles (:17.17), the 300-meter hurdles (:48.32) and finished fourth in the long jump (15-9.5). Emma Marshall won the long jump (16-9.5) and ran the 400-meter leg on Centerville’s winning sprint medley relay (4:30.62) and anchored the winning 1,600 meter relay (4:14.97)

Arlington’s Chloe Raw won the 100-meter dash (:12.57), 200-meter dash (25.58), anchored Arlington’s winning 400-meter relay (:53.39) and finished third in the long jump (16-1). Arlington’s Kaelyn Ulschmid won the 1,600-meter run (5:31.33) and the 3,200-meter run (12:15.39).

Elk Point Jefferson’s Grace Peed won the discus (117-00). Teammate Bentlee Kolbaum won the javelin (119-1).

In boys action, Freeman Academy/Marion’s Keaton Preheim won the 200-meter dash (:23.14) anchored the 400-meter relay to a second place finish (:45.46), and anchored the second place 800-meter relay (1:35.34).

Finley McConniel won the 3,200-meter run (10:01.40) with teammate Tavin Schroeder (10:23.07) finishing second.

Colman-Egan’s Jase Mousel won the long jump (21-1), the triple jump (41-7.50), ran a leg on the winning 800-meter relay (1:34.98) and ran a leg on the third place 400-meter relay (:45.50). Mousel’s long jump broke a 33-year-old Colman-Egan school record. 

Centerville’s Miles Eide won the javelin (142-03) and finished third in the 110-meter hurdles (:17.94) and second in the 300-meter hurdles (:44.51).
