Class B Boys Basketball Roundup - Dell Rapids St. Mary downs Wessington Springs for third-place finish

Dell Rapids St. Mary 71, Wessington Springs 54 

ABERDEEN —Four players reach double figures as Dell Rapids St. Mary claimed third place at the Class B state tournament.

Trevon Beckman led the Cardinals with 21 points, six rebounds and three assists, Maverick LeBrun collected 19 points, 14 rebounds and three assists, Trimmier Hanson added 16 points and four assists while Jake Kopsas tallied 12 points and 13 rebounds in the win.

Wessington Springs’ Colby Flowers tallied 15 points and seven rebounds, Karter Mebius added 14 points, while Ryder Michalek netted eight points and five rebounds in the loss.


Aberdeen Christian 64, Lyman 46

ABERDEEN — Luke Kaiser’s 22-point outing lifted Aberdeen Christian past Lyman to take seventh place at the Class B state tournament Saturday.

Kaiser finished with 22 points, four rebounds and three assists, Brooks Jett tallied 13 points and 14 rebounds, Jett Johnson added 14 points, while Grady Jett netted 10 points and two rebounds in the win.

Lyman’s Dawsen Volmer led the Raiders with 16 points and three rebounds, MJ Deihm had 12 points and five rebounds, while Chace Seaboy and Askel Ehlers each netted eight points and three rebounds in the loss.


Wall 79, Freeman 67

ABERDEEN — Teelan Kjerstad and Emmet Dinger combined for 51 points in Wall’s consolation championship victory over Freeman Saturday at the Class B state tournament.

Kjerstad led the Eagles with 26 points, three rebounds and three assists while Dinger had 25 points and six rebounds in the win. Trevor Schultz collected 13 points and three boards while Jace Mohr added 11 points and seven assists as well.

Freeman’s Tate Sorenson had an efficient day from the floor tallying 27 points on 11-of-12 shooting, adding five rebounds and three assists. Oliver Waltner had 10 points and nine rebounds, Tayden Kerrigan had 10 points, Luke Peters recorded eight points while Christopher Aasen had six points in the loss.
