Wagner 66, Tripp-Delmont/Armour 28

ARMOUR — Ashlyn Koupal dropped 29 points as Class A No. 4 Wagner took down Tripp-Delmont/Armour Thursday.

Koupal finished with 29 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and six steals, Lydia Yost added 13 points, six rebounds, four steals and three assists, Mataya Bruguier and Ravyn Medricky each had six points, while Genesis Patterson collected five points in the win.

TDA’s Mia Reiner had nine points, Kinley Spaans tallied eight points and 10 rebounds, while Belle Hotchkiss recorded four points in the loss.


Parkston 65, Chamberlain 32

PARKSTON — Berkeley Ziebart’s 18-point outing helped Class B No. 4 Parkston defeat Chamberlain during Thursday’s high school girls basketball action.

Ziebart finished with 18 points, five steals and three assists, Morgan Maxwell had 12 points, Keeara Oakley totaled 10 points, three rebounds, three steals and two assists, Mya Thuringer and Kahris Tapio each had six points, while Lauren Ziebart added seven points, three assists and three steals in the win.

Chamberlain’s Libbie Gullickson totaled 12 points, Natalie Nelson added seven points, a rebound and two steals, while Kali Randall and Trey Speer each had three points in the loss.


Lennox 65, Madison 21

MADISON — Three players scored in double figures as Lennox picked up a boys basketball win on Thursday. 

Lennox’s Ryan Hanssen recorded 17 points and three assists. Gavyn Herlyn posted 11 points and six assists. Andie Peters scored 10 points. Karlie Bosma had eight points and five rebounds. Libby Kranz scored seven points. 

For Madison, Madison Rummel scored seven points. Ella Malone and Taneaja John scored five points apiece.  


Flandreau 59, Beresford 39

BERESFORD — Flandreau picked up a 20-point girls basketball win on Thursday.

Hannah Krull tossed in 24 points, while Sadie Iott and Morgan Sheppard scored eight points apiece.

For Beresford, Ella Merriman netted 30 points. Kendra Ellis scored five points. 


Sioux Falls Washington 50, Harrisburg 22

SIOUX FALLS — Three players scored in double figures to pace Sioux Falls Washington to a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Washington’s Claire Woods finished with 15 points, five assists and four steals. Grace Peterson posted 12 points and seven assists. Josie Biteler had 11 points, four rebounds and three assists. Dana Harpe and Rylan Kennett scored five points apiece. 

For Harrisburg, Logan Durnil scored eight points. 


Boys Basketball Roundup 

Freeman 76, Canistota 42

FREEMAN — Freeman used a balanced scoring attack to pace Canistota to a boys basketball win on Thursday. 

Freeman’s Tate Sorensen finished with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Chris Aasen and Luke Peters scored 16 points apiece. David Walter had 10 points and five rebounds. Sawyer Wipf and Oliver Waltner scored five points apiece. Tayden Kerrigan had four points and four rebounds.

For Canistota, Brady Scott posted 18 points. Jaden Kleinsasser added nine points and 11 rebounds. 


Gayville-Volin 53, Andes Central/Dakota Christian 51

LAKE ANDES — Gayville-Volin pulled out the victory over Andes Central/Dakota Christian Thursday.

Spencer Karstens led the Raiders with 19 points, six rebounds and five assists, Preston Karstens tallied nine points, Nate Selchert had eight rebounds, while Carter Baron added seven points in the win.

ACDC’s Tate Elk Soldier led the Thunder with 21 points while Ryder Niewenhuis had 11 points in the loss.


McCook Central/Montrose 43, Chester 32

SALEM — McCook Central/Montrose defeated Chester during Thursday’s high school boys basketball action.

Jackson Schmidt led the Cougars with 14 points, five rebounds and two steals, Lane Deutsch tallied 11 points, two rebounds and two steals, Mason Sabers added seven points, while Ben Wiebersick and Dawson Dorr each had four points in the win.

Chester’s Layke Wold had 10 points, four rebounds and two steals, Will Seeley tallied 10 points and five rebounds, Jaxton Opdahl had six points, five rebounds and a steal, while JD Prorok recorded four points, seven rebounds and two assists in the loss.


Leola-Frederick Area 77, Aberdeen Christian 68

ABERDEEN — Noah Kippley’s 24-point performance paced Leola-Frederick Area to a boys basketball win on Thursday. 

Gavin Nickelson recorded 14 points, while Westyn Thorpe had 11 points. Ethan Petrich posted 10 points. Titus Kippley had seven points.

For Aberdeen Christian, Luke Kaiser scored 19 points. Jet Johnson and Ellis Russell had 13 points apiece. Grady Jett logged 12 points, while Dylan Hofer had nine points. 


Flandreau 70, Beresford 36

BERESFORD — Three players scored in double figures to pace Flandreau to a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Flandreau’s Xavier Bren finished with 12 points, while Micah Otto and Luke Sheppard scored 10 points apiece. 

For Beresford, Malachi James had 10 points. Aidan Hamm and Ashton Oberle scored nine points and eight points, respectively. 


Lennox 78, Madison 38

MADISON — Three players scored in double figures to pace Lennox to a boys basketball win on Thursday. Aiden Hanssen finished with 15 points, three 3-pointers and three rebounds. Tate Gerdes posted 11 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Drake Mikkelsen had 10 points. Cole Spieler had eight points, while Teegan Musser and Boston Katzer scored six points apiece. Layton Smith, Jaxson Bittner and Talen Eich scored five points apiece. 

For Madison, Shane Veenhof had 11 points and six rebounds. Casyn Crabtree logged six points. Myles Schneider had five points, five rebounds and assists. Ben Brooks had five points.


Parkston 57, Chamberlain 26

PARKSTON — Parkston defeated Chamberlain in high school boys basketball action Thursday.

James Deckert powered the Trojans with 17 points and seven rebounds, Brycen Bruening added 16 points and four assists, Mason Jervik tallied eight points, while Elliot Leischner brought in six rebounds in the win.

Chamberlain’s Braxton Harrison led with six points, Josiah Vaad had five points, while Breckyn Harmon totaled five rebounds in the loss.
