Ethan 52, McCook Central/Montrose 42

MITCHELL — Ethan held off McCook Central/Montrose for a Hoop City Classic boys basketball win on Thursday at the Corn Palace.

Ethan’s Rylan Gerlach finished with 17 points and four rebounds. Drake Gustafson posted 11 points, eight boards and four assists. Braedon Nebelsick added eight points and eight rebounds. Taite Klumb tallied eight points and nine rebounds. Gage Hohn finished with five points.

For MCM, Mason Sabers logged 14 points and five rebounds. Owen Alley finished with 11 points and four rebounds. Ty Morrison added eight points and six rebounds. Carter Jandl logged four points and five rebounds. Ben Wiebersick posted five points and Lane Deutsch had four rebounds. 


Ethan 54, Thunder Basin (Wyo.) 17 

MITCHELL — Ava Lingemann and Marissa Storm combined for 38 points to pace Ethan to a Hoop City Classic girls basketball win on Thursday at the Corn Palace. 

Lingemann finished with 21 points, five rebounds, five 3-pointers and five assists. Storm logged 17 points and hit five 3-pointers. Ella Pollreisz added seven points. Rachel Klock logged four points and seven rebounds. 

Thunder Basin’s Reece McGrath had seven points and four rebounds. 


Campbell County 77, Elk Point-Jefferson 53

MITCHELL — Campbell County used a 28-9 fourth quarter to secure a Hoop City Classic boys basketball win on Thursday at the Corn Palace. 

Campbell County’s Lane Hladky posted 19 points and hit four 3-pointers. Nate Williams added 10 points and seven rebounds. Rylan Robertson and Jack Andela scored nine points apiece, with Robertson hitting three 3-pointers. Mason Drube recorded eight points, while Jackson Evans had seven points. Riley Hawk scored six points. Seth Petersen scored five points.

EPJ’s Evan Fornia logged 23 points and four rebounds. Reed Sayler posted 11 points and seven rebounds. Kayden Moore scored nine points. 


Campbell County 62, Viborg-Hurley 23

MITCHELL — Campbell County coasted past Viborg-Hurley for a Hoop City Classic girls basketball win on Thursday at the Corn Palace. 

Lauren Kuhbacher finished with 11 points, seven rebounds and four steals for the Camels. Onna Castellanos recorded 10 points. Payge Riedesel added nine points and five rebounds. Patience Smith scored six points, while Mykhia Dymond posted five points, four rebounds and four assists.

For Viborg-Hurley, Charley Nelson recorded nine points. Tatum Lyons finished with six points, while Jenna Graves logged nine rebounds, three points and three assists. 

 

Cordova (Tenn.) 79, Wauwatosa West (Wis.) 65

MITCHELL — Three players scored in double figures to pace Cordova (Tenn.) to a Hoop City Classic boys basketball win on Thursday at the Corn Palace.

Cordova’s Julius Thedford finished with 27 points, eight rebounds and four 3-pointers. Emerson Tenner posted 24 points, while Jaylon Tyler logged 15 points, five assists and four rebounds. Randin Johnson tallied six points, while Erin Hardick had five points. 

For Wauwatosa West, Jalen Brown finished with 23 points. Jake Hansen posted 19 points, four 3-pointers and three rebounds. Kai Rogers tallied 14 points, 11 rebounds and four assists. Matthew Kloskey added nine points.


Sioux Valley 56, Thunder Basin (Wyo.) 50

MITCHELL — Sioux Valley clipped Thunder Basin (Wyo.) for a Hoop City Classic boys basketball win on Thursday at the Corn Palace. 

Sioux Valley’s Alec Squires finished with 23 points, 12 rebounds and four blocked shots. Maxwell Engebretson posted 16 points and three steals. Hudsyn Ruesink logged 11 points and three boards. 

For Thunder Basin, Gibson Williams finished with 18 points and hit five 3-pointers.


Viborg-Hurley 66, Corsica-Stickney 44

MITCHELL — Three players scored in double figures to lift Viborg-Hurley to a Hoop City Classic boys basketball win on Thursday at the Corn Palace. 

Viborg-Hurley’s Nick Hanson finished with 28 points and 10 rebounds. Nolan Kolthoffva and Brady Schroedermeier logged 10 points apiece. Kolthoffva had five assists, three steals and three rebounds. Schroedermeier added six rebounds. Bryson Morrison tallied eight points, seven assists and three rebounds. 

For Corsica-Stickney, Carter Wright totaled 17 points. Tyson Wentland added seven points and eight rebounds. Brock Hinker posted six points.


White River 58, Bridgewater-Emery 42

MITCHELL — Three players scored in double figures to pace White River to a Hoop City Classic boys basketball win on Thursday at the Corn Palace. 

White River’s Nic Marshall recorded 20 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Mackenzie Wike logged 14 points, while Ray Crow added 13 points. Jordan Uhlir posted eight points, seven rebounds and three steals. 

For Bridgewater-Emery, Ben Weber logged 13 points and eight rebounds. Macklen Weber posted 12 points and five rebounds. Camdyn Stoterau had 11 points and four rebounds. Jase Kayser collected five boards.


Howard 42, Gregory 34

MITCHELL — Howard held off Gregory for a Hoop City Classic boys basketball win on Thursday at the Corn Palace. 

Howard’s Kolt Koepsell recorded 12 points and 13 rebounds. Logan Mentele added nine points, all on 3-pointers. Colby Claussen collected eight points, while Taiden Hoyer added seven points. 

For Gregory, Noah Bearshield finished with 20 points, six rebounds and three steals. Cruz Klundt posted six points, five rebounds and four assists. Jackson Bolander had four points and three rebounds. Daniel Mitchell had 10 rebounds and two points.


Cordova 56, Harrisburg 55

MITCHELL — KJ Tenner’s game-winning shot with 8 seconds left lifted Cordova to a Hoop City Classic boys basketball win on Thursday at the Corn Palace. 

Tenner finished with 20 points, seven assists, four rebounds and three 3-pointers. Jaylon Tyler added 19 points and three 3-pointers. Julius Thedford posted 10 points. Randin Johnson logged five points. 

For Harrisburg, Jacoby Mehrman posted 29 points and four 3-pointers. Camden Phipps logged 12 points and four rebounds. Braeden VanBockern had seven points. Kaden Anderson grabbed five rebounds. Braeden Feeldy had six rebounds and five assists.
