Lennox 61, Pine Ridge 60

MITCHELL — Layton Smith’s putback at the buzzer lifted Lennox over Pine Ridge during Monday’s Hoop City Classic action.

Smith finished with 14 points, five rebounds and two assists, Tate Gerdes had 15 points, three rebounds and three assists, Aiden Hanssen tallied 12 points, three rebounds and three steals, Boston Katzer recorded 11 points, 10 rebounds and three assists, while Cole Speler totaled five points in the win.

PR’s Marvin Richard III led the Thorpes with 24 points, four rebounds, five assists and four steals, Kolbe Steele added 10 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals, Anthony Steele had nine points and three assists, Alex Bissonette tallied nine points and nine rebounds, while Caleb Black Feather recorded six points and six rebounds in the loss.


Ethan 49, Hamlin 46

MITCHELL — Taziah Hawkins 22-point performance lifted Ethan past Class A No. 3 Hamlin during Monday’s Hoop City Classic action.

Hawkins finished with 22 points and four rebounds, Ella Pollreisz had 13 points, 10 rebounds and two assists, while Marissa Storm recorded nine points, two rebounds and two assists in the win.

Hamlin’s Addie Steffensen had 18 points, nine rebounds and three assists in the loss, Addison Neuendorf totaled nine points, four assists and two steals, Issie Steffensen recorded eight points, three rebounds and four assists, while Jo Steffensen tallied six points, three rebounds and two assists in the loss.


Corsica-Stickney 68, Potter County 65

MITCHELL — Tyson Wentland poured in 36 points as Corsica-Stickney clipped Potter County Monday at the Hoop City Classic.

Wentland finished with 36 points, six rebounds and two assists, Jarrett Olawsky had 17 points, nine rebounds and four steals, Peyton Denning recorded seven points, five rebounds and three assists, while Jett Kemp and Sawyer Schmidt each had four points in the win.

PC’s Landon Larson tallied 26 points, 10 rebounds and three assists, Jhett Simon tallied 13 points, four rebounds and four assists, Jerand Chase had 10 points and three assists, while Jack Simon recorded five points in the loss.


Mitchell 53, Sisseton 48

MITCHELL — London Hajek and Addie Seimsen combined for 33 points as Mitchell defeated Sisseton during Monday night’s Hoop City Classic action.

Hajek led with 17 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals, Seimsen brought in 16 points, eight rebounds and five steals, while Carsyn Weich recorded nine points, three rebounds, five steals and two assists in the win.

Sisseton’s Krista Langager had a double-double in the loss, recording 31 points, 20 rebounds and three blocks, Ruby Rice had 10 points and five rebounds for the Redmen, while Kennedy Hanson had four rebounds as well.

Houston (Tenn.) 74, Hamlin 71

MITCHELL — Houston edged Class A No. 2 Hamlin to close out the 2024 Hoop City Classic.

Houston’s Jordan Myles powered the victory with 30 points, scoring on all 11 shot attempts from the floor, Keron Jackson Jr. added 15 points, eight rebounds and four steals, Juston Frison had 10 points, four steals and a trio of assists, while Kaleb Jeffries added 15 points in the win.

Hamlin’s Evan Stormo had 18 points and six rebounds, Easton Neuendorf totaled 18 points and 11 assists, Jackson Wadsworth added another 18 points, while Boden Stevenson totaled nine points in the loss.

Brandon Valley 56, St. George’s (Tenn.) 49

MITCHELL — Briggs Knutson’s dropped 14 points as Brandon Valley took down St. George’s during Monday’s Hoop City Classic action.

Knutson finished with 14 points, three rebounds and three assists, Mach Mayen had 10 points, eight rebounds and three blocks, Landon Dulaney totaled nine points, eight rebounds and five assists, Grant Hennen totaled nine points and four rebounds, while Lincoln McInerney had six points in the win.

SG’s Tristan Farris tallied 17 points, Carson Crump had 12 points, two rebounds and two assists, Silas Jones had 10 points and three steals, while Ontarious Odom tallied six points and eight rebounds in the loss.


Viborg-Hurley 48, Gregory 25

MITCHELL — Two players scored in double figures as Class B No. 3 Viborg-Hurley defeated Class B No. Gregory during Monday’s Hoop City Classic action.

Jake Austin led the way with 12 points and five rebounds, Owen Niederbaumer had 10 points and five rebounds, Nick Hanson recorded eight points and five boards, while Brayden Morrison totaled six points and two assists in the win for the Cougars.

Gregory’s Noah Bearshield had 10 points, four rebounds and two steals, Cruz Kludt tallied four points and four rebounds, while Colt Keiser brought down six rebounds in the loss.


Bridgewater-Emery 60, Platte-Geddes 48

MITCHELL — Ben Weber’s 22-point double-double helped Bridgewater-Emery defeat Platte-Geddes Monday at the Hoop City Classic.

Weber finished with 22 points, 14 rebounds, six assists and two steals, Holden Wollmann had 14 points, eight rebounds and three steals, Jaxon Koch recorded 14 points and seven rebounds, while Macklen Weber had six points and three assists in the win.

PG’s Hayden Sprik had a team-high 12 points, five rebounds and two assists, Isaac Leader recorded nine points and three rebounds, Jye Bailey totaled nine points, five rebounds and three assists, while Max Miller and Tommy Nelson each had five points in the loss.


Mitchell 50, Orlando Christian Prep (Flor.) 41

MITCHELL — Colton Smith’s 24-point double-double powered Class AA No. 1 Mitchell to a victory over Orlando Christian Prep during Monday’s Hoop City Classic.

Smith finished with 24 points, 16 rebounds and two assists, Gavin Hinker had 15 points, seven rebounds and an assist, while Markus Talley recorded nine points, seven rebounds and five assists in the win.

OCP’s Eric Noblin had 12 points, Henry Thomas cracked 12 points, three rebounds and two blocks, while Roman Mathieu had 11 points, five rebounds and two steals in the loss.
