Mt. Vernon/Plankinton 56, Kimball/White Lake 53

WHITE LAKE — Mt. Vernon/Plankinton clipped Kimball/White Lake in boys basketball action on Thursday.

KWL’s Blake Leiferman finished with 21 points and 16 boards. Nathan Mohnen added 10 points, while Hudson Heath had eight points and six rebounds. Martin Josserand had three steals. 


Stanley County 73, Miller 69

MILLER — Stanley County outlasted Miller for a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Kaden Montana paced the Buffaloes with 36 points, while Broch Zeeb tossed in 32 points.

Miller’s Alex Schumacher erupted for a game-high 45 points, including 31 points in the second half. He nailed seven 3-pointers. Treyton Anson scored 10 points, while Isaak Hunter added seven points. Derek Brueggeman had five points. 


Milbank 69, Sisseton 24

MILBANK — Garrett Mertens and Joe Schulte combined for 33 points to pace Milbank to a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Mertens finished with 21 points and eight rebounds. Schulte added 12 points. Yohana Ajwanga posted nine points and Graham Lightfield scored eight points. Emmett Hanson logged six points and four rebounds. Jackson Wildung posted eight points and eight rebounds. 

For Sisseton, Ethan DeSpiegler scored five points. 


Canton 73, Elk Point-Jefferson 49

ELK POINT — Three players scored in double figures to pace Canton to a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Matt Anderson finished with 24 points and 11 boards. Aidan Jutting scored 11 points and hit three 3-pointers. Julius Moore had 10 points. Braxton Mulder finished with seven points, while Ryan Kuper scored six points and five rebounds. Brayden Qualseth had five points.

For EPJ, Kayden Moore logged 13 points, while Evan Fornia had eight points. Reed Sayler had six points and nine rebounds. Luke Schmitz added six points, while Carson Timmins had five points and five rebounds.
