MILLER — Behind three individual champions and 10 state qualifiers Winner Area grappled its way to the Region 3B wrestling title Saturday. 

The Warriors racked up 185 points ahead of Miller/Highmore-Harrold (168) and Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes (162.5). Bon Homme/Avon (140) and Burke/Gregory (113) rounded out the top five teams. 

Riley Orel (160), Jack Kruger (182) and Derek Fenenga (285) won region titles for the Warriors. 

Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes had three champions, Kasen Konstanz (126), Carter Lenz, (145) and Jayden Kayler (195).

Wagner also had three champions as Karstyn Lhotak (120), Jhett Breen (138) and Tim Bouza (220) won regional titles. 

Burke/Gregory had two champions as Owen Hansen (132) and Gunnar Stephens (170) won region titles. 

Other individual titles were claimed by Mount Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica-Stickney’s Keagan Hill (106), Wessington Springs/Woonsocket/Wolsey-Wessington’s Jacksen Carter (113) and Parkston’s Porter Neugebauer (152).

Region 1B - Redfield holds off Kingsbury County to claim Region 1B wrestling title

VOLGA — Behind three region champions and seven state qualifiers the Redfield Pheasants captured Saturday’s Region 1B title in Volga. 

Redfield scored 165.5 points, ahead of Kingsbury County (159) and Faulkton Area (142.5). Deuel/Deubrook Area (120) and Warner/Northwestern (115.5) rounded out the top five teams. 

Brady Risetter (106), Mason Whitley (152) and Grady Fey (285) all won regional titles for Redfield. 

Kingsbury County had two region champions as Gannon Gilligan (126) and Dylan Zell (145) won region titles. 

Deuel/Deubrook Area’s two champions were Dominic Constant (182) and Justin Granum (195). 

Warner/Northwestern’s Alex Pudwill (170) and Preston Cavalier (220) both won region titles. 

Other individual titles were claimed by Hamlin/Castlewood’s Rylan Yonker (113), Sioux Valley’s Tate Steffensen (120), Webster Area’s Haeden Jorgenson (132), Groton Area’s Christian Ehresmann (138) and Potter County’s Carter Luikens (160).

Region 2B - Canton looks dominant as the C-Hawks claim Region 2B wrestling title

SALEM — Behind eight region champions and 12 state qualifiers the Canton wrestling team won Saturday’s Region 2A wrestling title. 

Canton racked up 265 points, ahead of McCook Central/Montrose (197) and Elk Point-Jefferson (154.5). Tri-Valley (154) and Parker (151) rounded out the top five teams. 

Zach Bartels (106), Teague Granum (126), Ashton Keller (132), Kale Ask (138), Ayson Rice (145), Josh Merkle (182), Tanner Meyers (195) and Traun Cook (285) won regional titles for Canton. 

McCook Central Montrose athletes Jackson Remmers (152) and Weston Remmers (170) both won regional titles. 

Other region championships went to Tri-Valley’s Cole Hendrixson (113), Howard’s Conner Giedd (120), Elk Point-Jefferson’s Ben Swatek (160) and Parker’s Levi Wieman (220).

Region 4B - Custer tops Brawlers for Region 4B wrestling title

LEAD — Behind four region champions and 12 state qualifiers the Custer wrestling team earned top honors at Saturday’s Region 4B meet. 

Custer accumulated 271.5 points, ahead of Philip/Kadoka Area/Wall Badlands Brawlers (247) and Stanley County (130). Mobridge-Pollock (102) and Lead-Deadwood (98) rounded out the top five teams. 

Tray Weiss (113), Riley Scott (132), Jonathan Lewis (160) and Ryder Bailey (182) all won region titles for Custer. 

Philip/Kadoka Area/Wall Badlands Brawlers claimed five region titles as Carter Kendrick (106), Jace Blasius (138), Gage Ravellette (145), Blair Blasius (152) and Burk Blasius (170) all won region titles. 

Other individuals winning region titles were Lemmon/McIntosh’s Gage Anderson (120), Stanley County’s Chase Hanson (126), Hot Springs’ Caleb Rickenbach (195), Mobridge-Pollock’s Aiden Schoenhard (220) and Lyman’s Louie Thiry (285).
