St. Thomas More 49, Mount Vernon/Plankinton 38 

MITCHELL — St. Thomas More pulled away from Mount Vernon/Plankinton for a boys basketball win at the DWU/Culver’s Classic on Saturday.

STM’s Lee Neugebauer recorded 12 points and seven rebounds. Holden Griswold posted nine points. Turner Thompson added seven points, while Peyton Young had six points. Baron Slusarski had five points.

MVP’s Tyce Feistner logged 14 points and hit three 3-pointers. Blaine Bohr added nine points and nine rebounds. Zach Baker added seven points and four rebounds. 


Bridgewater-Emery 64, Platte-Geddes 50

MITCHELL — Holden Wollmann and Ben Weber combined for 29 points to pace Bridgewater-Emery to a boys basketball win at the DWU/Culver’s Classic on Saturday.

Wollmann recorded 17 points, while Weber added 12 points and 12 rebounds. Jase Kayser added nine points and six assists. Jaxon Koch had nine points, while Macklen Weber had nine points and five rebounds. Camdyn Stoterau posted eight points.

Platte-Geddes’ Tanner Dyk logged 18 points and five rebounds. Jye Bailey added nine points, while Braxton Breukelman had seven points and six rebounds. 


White River 58, Canistota 50

MITCHELL — Nic Marshall and Jordan Uhlir combined for 40 points to power Class B No. 1 White River to a boys basketball win at the DWU/Culver’s Classic on Saturday.

Marshall finished with 25 points, five rebounds and four assists. Uhlir logged 15 points and four rebounds. Mackenzie Wike logged eight points and five rebounds. Ray Crow scored six points, while Evastine Wright logged five rebounds.

Canistota’s Brandon Kjetland had 19 points and nine rebounds. Tage Ortman scored 18 points and dished out six assists. Levi Schroeder scored eight points, while Brady Scott had five points. Jaden Kleinsasser had five rebounds. 


Dell Rapids St. Mary 59, Gregory 53

MITCHELL — Three players scored in double figures to pace Dell Rapids St. Mary for a boys basketball win at the DWU/Culver’s Classic on Saturday.

Dell Rapids St. Mary’s Maverick LeBrun recorded 20 points, eight rebounds and four 3-pointers. Trevon Beckman had 16 points, six assists, five rebounds and four 3-pointers. Nic Gaspar added 10 points and five rebounds. Trimmier Hanson had seven points, while Owen Vargas finished with six points.

Gregory’s Daniel Mitchell logged 21 points and eight rebounds. Cruz Klundt tallied 17 points and five rebounds. Noah Bearshield recorded 10 points and five rebounds. Rane Kenzy had five points. 


Howard 53, Parkston 48 

MITCHELL — Luke Koepsell and Kolt Koepsell combined for 32 points for a boys basketball win at the DWU/Culver’s Classic on Saturday.

Luke Koespell finished with 20 points and five rebounds. Kolt Koepsell added 12 points, 15 rebounds and five assists. Logan Mentele recorded nine points on three 3-pointers. Colby Claussen had six points. 

Parkston’s James Deckert had 12 points, while Will Jodozi had 11 points. Brycen Bruening had 10 points, five rebounds and four steals. Payton Koehn had nine points, while Luke Bormann posted six points. 


McCook Central/Montrose 54, Corsica-Stickney 48 

MITCHELL — McCook Central/Montrose used a 15-5 fourth quarter to secure a boys basketball win at the DWU/Culver’s Classic on Saturday.

MCM’s Mason Sabers finished with 25 points and five 3-pointers. Ben Wiebersick added 12 points, five rebounds and four 3-pointers. Owen Alley logged seven points and six rebounds. Ty Morrison scored five points. 

Corsica-Stickney’s Tyson Wentland and Luca Catapano scored 14 points apiece. Wentland had six rebounds. Austin Krogstad added eight points and four rebounds. Carter Wright and Jarrett Olawsky scored six points apiece. Wright had six rebounds. Lincoln Bruinsma had 10 rebounds. 


Freeman 55, Lower Brule 51

MITCHELL — Freeman held off Lower Brule for a boys basketball win at the DWU/Culver’s Classic on Saturday.

Freeman’s Tate Sorensen posted 19 points and 15 rebounds. Luke Peters added 11 points. Rocky Ammann and Tayden Kerrigan scored nine points apiece. 

Lower Brule’s Lane Gray recorded 17 points, six assists, five rebounds and four 3-pointers. Quentin McBride Jr., had 16 points and three 3-pointers. Peyton Palmier finished with 10 points and six rebounds. 


Philip 49, Centerville 44

MITCHELL — Philip used a 14-8 fourth quarter help secure a boys basketball win over Centerville at the DWU/Culver’s Classic on Saturday.

Philip’s Lane Kuchenbacker recorded 14 points and five rebounds. Layton Terkildsen finished with 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Jess Jones scored six points, while Bryce Westby had five points.

Centerville’s Miles Eide and Alec Austin scored 10 points apiece. Austin added eight rebounds. Aiden Bobzin recorded nine points and six rebounds. Brennan Tople had nine points, while Cole Edberg recorded six points. 


Lakota Tech 68, Crazy Horse 55 

CHAMBERLAIN — Three players scored in double-figures as Lakota Tech ran past Crazy Horse in boys basketball action Saturday. 

Gilbert White powered the Tatanka with a game high 20 points while dishing out four assists and four steals. Riley Casey finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Robert Left Hand Bull Jr. chipped in with 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Devaughn Between Lodges led Crazy Horse with 24 points, while Falcon Quiver added 21 points. 

 

De Smet 63, Hills Beaver Creek, MN 45

ELKTON — Three players scored in double-figures as De Smet downed Hills Beaver Creek, Minnesota in a boys game played Saturday in Elkton. 

George Jensen led De Smet with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Kadyn Fast added 13 points, nine rebounds and three assists while Britt Carlson scored 10 points. Tom Aughenbaugh chipped in with four assists. 

Beau Bakken led Hills Beaver Creek with nine points. 

 

Flandreau 51, Clark-Willow Lake 31

WILLOW LAKE — A balanced scoring attack helped the Flandreau boys pick up a road win over Clark-Willow Lake on Saturday. 

Luke Sheppard led the Fliers with 22 points and eight rebounds. Paul Parsley added 10 points and four rebounds. Micah Otto and Alfie Henderson combined to score 13 points and grab four rebounds. 

Emmerson Larson led Cark-Willow Lake with 11 points and six rebounds. Aarom Zemlicka chipped in with nine points and seven rebounds. 


Leola-Frederick Area 77, Webster Area 58 

WEBSTER — Leola-Frederick Area picked up a boys basketball win over Webster Area on Saturday.

Leola-Frederick Area’s Noah Kippley logged 22 points. Brayden Sumption and Westyn Thorpe scored 10 points apiece. 

Webster Area’s Matt Mount logged 18 points. Ian Lesnar and Tommy Vergeldt scored 13 points apiece. 


Iroquois/Lake Preston 69, Arlington 63

ARLINGTON — Big games from Josh McMasters and Lucas Pesky helped Iroquois/Lake Preston earn a win over Arlington in boys basketball action Saturday. 

Pesky scored 24 points and snared 10 rebounds to lead the Sharks. McMasters netted 20 points, four rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot. 

Kaden Steffensen had 21 points and seven rebounds to lead Arlington. Paxton Rheault chipped in with 16 points and eight rebounds.
