Corsica-Stickney 50, Andes Central/Dakota Christian 22

MITCHELL — Corsica-Stickney coasted past Andes Central/Dakota Christian for a Region 5B girls basketball win on Thursday. The Jaguars will play in the SoDak 16 on March 6. 

Corsica-Stickney’s Sophie DeLange recorded 14 points and Braylee Bordewyk added 12 points. Sydney Spaans had nine points and Alexis Spaans recorded six points. Remi Nelson scored six points.

For ACDC, Gabriella Olson finished with eight points and Halle Olson added six points.


Dell Rapids St. Mary 54, Ethan 44

MADISON — Madala Hanson’s 28-point game helped Dell Rapids St. Mary upset Class B No. 4 Ethan to advance to the SoDak 16.

Hanson netted 28 points tying a school record eight three-pointers, adding six rebounds, three assists and three steals. Addison Libis tallied 11 points, three rebounds and two steals while Jenna Miller added nine points and five assists in the win.

Ethan’s Marissa Storm had a team-high 16 points and three steals, Ella Pollreisz tallied 11 points and three rebounds, Taziah Hawkins scored eight points and five rebounds, while Rachel Klock netted six points and 14 rebounds in the loss.


Lyman 61, Burke 37 

MITCHEL — Lyman secured a spot in the Class B girls basketball SoDak 16 with a Region 5B win over Burke on Thursday.

Lyman’s Mak Scott finished with 21 points, while Jordyn Scott had 18 points and four 3-pointers. Bree Smart added seven points and Kenzie Wagner had six points.

For Burke, Emmie Hausmann and Paige Bull finished with 12 points apiece.


Sanborn Central-Woonsocket 57, Colman-Egan 46

MADISON — Liz Boschee tallied 25 points in Class B No. 5 Sanborn Central-Woonsocket win over Colman-Egan in Region 3B action.

Boschee led the Blackhawks with 25 points, seven rebounds and four steals, Addison Bartholow had 17 points, while Alexa Goertz tallied nine points and four rebounds in the win.

CE’s Brynlee Landis had a team-high 21 points, eight rebounds and three steals, Jolie Flatten had 11 points, three rebounds and three steals while Kaylee Voelker had 10 points in the loss.


Deubrook Area 65, Wessington Springs 49

HURON — Kylee Johnson and Mataya Gouws combined for 36 points as Deubrook Area defeated Wessington Springs in Region 2B action Thursday. Deubrook Area will play in the SoDak 16 on March 6.

Johnson finished with 18 points and five rebounds for the Dolphins while Gouws collected 18 points and 11 rebounds in the win. Matte Bauman had 11 points, four rebounds and two steals while Zoey Molengraaf and Peyton Trooien each had six points as well.

WS’s Mariah Messmer led with 15 points, Ashlyn Weber added 11 points, Kendall Kolousek tallied eight points while Kerstynn Heim had seven points and six boards in the loss.


Northwestern 49, Wilmot 31

MELLETTE — A balanced scoring attack helped Northwestern secure a spot in the SoDak 16 Thursday.

Adriana Ratigan led the Wildcats with 14 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks, Sophia Troske tallied 12 points and four steals, Ashley Haven had 10 points, 10 rebounds and three steals, while Breelyn Satter collected nine points in the win.

Wilmot’s Addison Heinje had a game-high 18 points and 12 rebounds while Jada Cameron tallied 10 points and five rebounds in the loss.


Highmore-Harrold 47, Herreid-Selby Area 35

HIGHMORE — A balanced scoring attack helped Highmore-Harrold punch its ticket to the SoDak 16 Thursday.

Jada Baloun led with 13 points and 10 rebounds, Addison McDonnell had 12 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and two steals, Elle Stagg tallied 10 points and two boards while Autumn Fallis had 10 points and seven assists in the win.

Herreid-Selby Area’s stats were not reported.


Centerville 58, Gayville-Volin 38

CENTERVILLE — Class B No. 1 Centerville secured a spot in the SoDak 16 with a Region 3B win over Gayville-Volin Thursday.

Althea Gust and Izzie Eide each had 19 points and three rebounds while Emma Marshall added 11 points and eight boards in the win.

GV’s Paisley Dimmer and Taylor Hoxeng each had 12 points for the Raiders, Maia Achen totaled eight points while Jolie Westrum netted six points in the loss.


Parkston 55, Avon 32

PARKSTON — Berkley Ziebart’s 17-point game helped Parkston advance to the SoDak 16 Thursday.

Ziebart finished with 17 points and five rebounds, Morgan Maxwell had 11 points, Keeara Oakley totaled nine points and four rebounds while Lauren Ziebart netted eight points in the win.

Avon’s Lila Vanderlei tallied 11 points and five boards while Rilyn Thury and Kaeli Wallinga each had eight points and three rebounds in the loss.

 

De Smet 64, Arlington 49

DE SMET — Hazel Luethmers and Alyssa Asleson combined for 41 points as De Smet earned a spot in the SoDak 16 Thursday.

Luethmers had a game-high 22 points and seven rebounds, Asleson tallied 19 points, seven assists and four steals, Brooke Jennings recorded nine points and three rebounds while Megan Dylla recorded eight points in the win.

Arlington’s Jaelyn Huntimer had 19 points and 10 rebounds, Seeley Vanderbeke and Ellisyn Vincent each had eight points, while Sony Johnson scored seven points and five rebounds in the loss.


Harding County 61, Faith 28

BUFFALO — Harding County rolled past Faith in Region 8A girls basketball action. The Ranchers will play in the SoDak 16 on March 6.

Harding County’s Raelee Hunsucker finished with 24 points, six 3-pointers and five rebounds. Bailey Verhulst added 12 points and three steals. Macey Wendt totaled nine points and eight rebounds. Brayden Padden posted nine points, five rebounds, three steals and three assists. 

Faith stats were not reported. 


Faulkton Area 53, Tiospaye Topa 46

LA PLANT — Faulkton Area held off Tiospaye Topa for a Region 6A girls basketball win on Thursday. The Trojans will play in the SoDak 16 on March 6. 

Faulkton Area’s Carley Cotton finished with 26 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals. Anika Mueller added 16 points and four rebounds. Presleigh Martinmaas had seven points, six rebounds and seven assists.

For Tiospaye Topa, Tyrianna Hawk Bear finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Leilani Bowker added eight points and seven rebounds. Madison Jeffries recorded six points and five rebounds. Cadence Bernie and Pamela Meeter had five points apiece.
