Philip 53, Potter County 50

MITCHELL — Three players scored in double figures to pace Philip to a girls basketball win at the DWU/Culver’s Classic on Friday.

Philip’s Drew Terkildsen recorded 19 points, five rebounds, five steals and four assists. Fayth Martin recorded 10 points and four rebounds. Matthisen Reckling recorded 10 points and five rebounds. Josie Jones finished with eight points and six rebounds. Kale Peterson posted five points.

Potter County’s Kayden Cronin logged 15 points and 20 rebounds. Zoe Meinke added 15 points and seven rebounds. Emma Schlachter added 12 points and three rebounds. Olivia Mikkelsen had three points and five rebounds. 


Wall 70, Freeman 59 

MITCHELL — Class B No. 4 Wall used a 26-15 third quarter to rally past Freeman for a girls basketball win at the DWU/Culver’s Classic on Friday.

Wall’s Paige Kjerstad finished with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Rhea Tucker added 12 points and three rebounds. Nora Dinger posted 11 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals. Allie Kjerstad had eight points, while Emmy Moon posted five points and six rebounds.

Freeman’s Ashlin Jacobsen recorded 18 points, three rebounds and three 3-pointers. Rylee Peters added 13 points and six rebounds. Vaida Ammann had 11 points. Peyton McCune finished with nine points. Cami Fransen had four points and five rebounds. 


Flandreau 65, Lyman 46

MITCHELL — Four players scored in double figures to pace Class A No. 1 Flandreau to a girls basketball win over Class B No. 5 Lyman on Friday.

Flandreau’s Claire Sheppard recorded 18 points, four rebounds and four blocked shots. Lily Klein had 12 points and nine rebounds. Lizzie Pavlis posted 12 points and five rebounds. Sadie Iott had 13 points and five rebounds. Morgan Sheppard added nine points.

Lyman’s Skyler Volmer recorded 15 points and eight rebounds. Jordyn Scott added nine points and four assists. Morgan Hoffman posted eight points. Mak Scott and Brooke Palmer scored seven points apiece. 


Jones County 44, Bridgewater-Emery 42

MITCHELL — Jones County edged Bridgewater-Emery at the girls DWU/Culver’s Classic on Friday.

Jones County’s Jacey Jensen posted 14 points and six rebounds. Aubrey Tucker had nine points and eight rebounds. Mallory Venard added seven points and three rebounds. Sophie Dowling and BreAna Aske scored five points apiece. 

Bridgewater-Emery’s Oakley Weber had 16 points and four rebounds. Hayden Hofer finished with 12 points on four 3-pointers. Macie Weber added eight points and eight rebounds. Summer Koch had four points, six rebounds and three assists. 


Mount Vernon/Plankinton 47, St. Thomas More 41 

MITCHELL — Mount Vernon/Plankinton captured a back-and-forth girls basketball win over St. Thomas More at the DWU/Culver’s Classic on Friday. MVP coach Preston Kristensen also captured his 100th career coaching win. 

MVP’s Reagan Rus recorded 17 points, while Emilee Fox added nine points, four rebounds and five assists. Kyia Schmidt logged eight points and seven rebounds. Vanessa Hoffman and Berkeley Engelland added five points apiece. 

STM’s Sloane Keszler logged 10 points and four assists. Rachael Hyde posted nine points. Megan Lee added eight points and five rebounds. Enna Henry posted six points and four rebounds. 


Viborg-Hurley 47, McCook Central/Montrose 46

MITCHELL — Viborg-Hurley held off McCook Central/Montrose for a girls basketball win at the DWU/Culver’s Classic on Friday.

Viborg-Hurley’s Jenna Graves recorded 17 points and six rebounds. Charley Nelson added 14 points, nine rebounds, four assists and four steals. Kendra Gilbert, Haley Nelson and Aubree Schwartz recorded five points apiece. Nelson grabbed six rebounds and Gilbert added five boards.

MCM’s Carly Katzer logged 14 points, four rebounds and four 3-pointers. Abby Wagner finished with 10 points and seven rebounds. Mya Morrison posted seven points. Ella DeKnikker had six points, while Cami McGuire had five points. 


Corsica-Stickney 65, Dell Rapids St. Mary 28

MITCHELL — Corsica-Stickney coasted past Dell Rapids St. Mary for a girls win at the DWU/Culver’s Classic on Friday.

Corsica-Stickney’s Braylee Bordewyk logged 21 points, eight assists, five 3-pointers, four steals and four rebounds. Syndey Spaans added 17 points and seven rebounds. Sophie DeLange logged 16 points, 10 boards and four 3-pointers. Jacey Kemp posted five points and four rebounds.

Dell Rapids St. Mary’s Jenna Miller finished with 11 points. Maddyn LeBrun logged six points, while Stephanie Geraets had five points and four rebounds. 


Hamlin 68, Howard 33

MITCHELL — Four players scored in double figures to power Hamlin to a girls basketball win at the DWU/Culver’s Classic on Friday.

Hamlin’s Addison Neuendorf logged 22 points, six assists and five 3-pointers. Marissa Bawdon logged 20 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. Musonda Kabwe and Addelyn Jensen scored 12 points apiece. Jensen added five rebounds. 

Howard’s Abby Aslesen finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Ann Connor recorded nine points and six rebounds. 


Wagner 68, Chamberlain 32

CHAMBERLAIN — Three players scored in double-figures as Wagner ran past Chamberlain in girls basketball action Friday. 

Ashlyn Koupal led Wagner with 26 points, 13 rebounds and six assists. Macy Koupal finished with 18 points, six rebounds and five assists. Lydia Yost chipped in with 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists. 

Jayna Handel led Chamberlain with 10 points, five rebounds and three assists. Kinsey Evans added five points and seven rebounds. 


Winner 45, McLaughlin 20 

WINNER — Winner coasted past McLaughlin for a girls basketball win on Friday.

Winner’s Kylie Sachtjen had 13 points and six steals. Keelie Kuil added six points, five assists and three steals. Cici Watson had six points and four rebounds.

McLaughlin’s Blake Thompson scored nine points. 


Ipswich 53, Sunshine Bible Academy 44

IPSWICH — Three players scored in double figures to pace Ipswich to a girls basketball win on Friday.

Ipswich’s Bri Geditz logged 16 points and five rebounds. Kaylin Onken scored 13 points and had five rebounds. Marley Guthmiller added 12 points and five rebounds. Anna Nierman posted five points.

SBA’s Annaliese Van Zee scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Abby Hinman had 11 points and seven rebounds. 


Dakota Valley 79, Dell Rapids 44 

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Dakota Valley picked up a girls basketball win over conference foe Dell Rapids on Friday.

Dakota Valley’s Cameryn Sommervold finished with 18 points, six steals and six rebounds. Emersen Mead had 16 points, nine steals and nine rebounds. Aubree Worden had 15 points, while Ella Otten had 12 points. 

Dell Rapids’ Rorie Thorson and Kassidee Stykel scored 11 points apiece. 


Chester Area 69, Canistota 50

CHESTER — Four players scored in double-figures as Chester Area knocked off Canistota in girls basketball action Friday. 

Emmerson Eppard led Chester Area with 17 points, 15 rebounds and seven assists. Katelyn Schut contributed 16 points and Emery Larson had 17 points and two steals. Jacy Wolf chipped in with 15 points and six assists. 

Natalie Becker led Canistota with 16 points. Kayla Pappendick and Hannah Hoffman each scored 10 points for the Hawks. 


Wessington Springs 49, Hitchcock/Tulare 35

HITCHCOCK —- Three players reached double-figures as Wessington Springs earned a road win over Hitchcock/Tulare in girls basketball action Friday. 

Avery Orth powered Wessington Springs with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Carissa Scheel scored 14 points and added three steals. Kerstyn Heim finished with 10 points while Alyssa Grohs dished out six assists. 

Cambree Hoekman led Hitchcock-Tulare with 14 points. Katelyn Schroeder and Isabel Gilbert each scored six points. 


Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 48, Highmore-Harrold 34

WOONSOCKET — A big night from Liz Boschee helped Sanborn Central/Woonsocket pick up a home win over Highmore-Harrold in girls basketball action Friday.

Boschee scored 19 points, grabbed nine rebounds and dished out four assists. Jaycee Baruth added nine points and six rebounds. Cami Edwards and Kali Hofer each scored six points for the Blackhawks. 

Jada Baloun led Highmore-Harrold with 11 points. Elle Staag and Autumn Fallis both scored seven points for Highmore-Harrold. 


Waubay/Summit 51, Waverly-South Shore 21

SUMMIT — A balanced scoring attack helped Waubay/Summit pick up a win over Waverly-South Shore in girls basketball action Friday. 

Eva Benike led Waubay/Summit with 14 points. Faith Larson, Eva Breske and Brianna Lindholm each scored seven points for Waubay/Summit. 

Annie Stricherz led Waverly-South Shore with five points. 


Faulkton Area 49, Langford 36

FAULKTON — Two players scored in double-figures as Faulkton Area knocked off Langford Area in girls basketball action Friday night. 

Carley Cotton led Faulkton Area with 14 points, six rebounds, six assists and five steals. Kelli Stoecker added 13 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Presleigh Martinmaas contributed eight points, nine rebounds and five steals. 

Megan Gustafson led Langford Area with ten points and eight rebounds. Alexandria Darling added eighty points and Paytyn Marlow chipped in with seven points. 


North Central 51, Northwestern 44 

MELLETTE — Amree VanderVorst and Ella Battie combined to score 34 points to pace North Central to a girls basketball win on Friday.

VanderVorst finished with 21 points and hit four 3-pointers. Batie added 13 points, seven rebounds and five blocked shots. Alaina Dosch scored nine points and had four rebounds. Kaitlynn Hoerner added five points.

Northwestern’s Tara Blachford finished with 12 points, four rebounds and four 3-pointers. Josie Sparling added five assists, six points and eight rebounds. Ashley Haven logged five points and 11 rebounds. Ana Ratigan had eight points and eight rebounds. Kyara Ratigan had eight points and four rebounds. 


Harrisburg 67, Rapid City Central 56

HARRISBURG — Four players scored in double-figures as Harrisburg defeated Rapid City Central in girls basketball action Friday. 

Jaylee Hofer powered Harrisburg with 18 points. Sadie Mehrman finished with 16 points while Kinley Lawrenson had 10 points and 11 rebounds. Abby Flanagan had 10 points for Harrisburg. 

Rapid City Central was led by Leah Landry who finished with 19 points. Lolo Carlow added 14 points and Aaliyah Jones chipped in with 12 points.
