Ipswich boys, Miller girls capture Region 2B track and field titles

GETTYSBURG — The Ipswich boys and Miller girls earned team titles at Wednesday’s Region 2B track and field meet.

The Ipswich boys finished with 185 points, finishing ahead of second-place Miller (146). The Miller girls racked up 146 points, holding off Ipswich (125.5) for the team title.

On the boys side, Ipswich’s Ty Kadlec was a double winner in the 100-meter dash (:11.32) and 200-meter dash (:23.34). Ipswich’s Carter Geditz won the 110-meter hurdles (:16.09) and placed second in the 300-meter hurdles (:43.52). Ipswich’s Zach Geditz (discus), Tyler Hettich (high jump), Brody Davis (pole vault) and Colby Sylte (long jump) also earned first-place finishes for the Tigers. Ipswich also won the 800-meter relay (1:33.16), 

On the girls side, Sully Buttes’ Stevie Wittler was a double winner in the 100-meter hurdles (:16.37) and 300-meter hurdles (:48.49). The Chargers’ Lydia Hill was also a double winner in the shot put (37-06) and discus (110-09). Miller’s Patricia Lammers was a double winner in the high jump (4-10) and long jump (15-07.25).

Miller also won the 400-meter relay (:52.75) and 800-meter relay (1:51.94). Miller’s Morgan Kolda (100-meter dash), Ally Mullaney (200-meter dash), and Gracen Werdel (400-meter dash) also earned first-place finishes for the Rustlers.

Potter County’s Emma Schlachter won the 800-meter run (2:25.78), while Peyton Stevens won the 3,200-meter run (12:50.22) and Makaivry Schatz won the pole vault (9-07). The Battlers also won the 3,200-meter relay (10:04.37) and sprint medley relay (4:34.16).
