James Valley Christian boys, Kimball/White Lake girls with titles at Ethan/Parkston meet

PARKSTON — The James Valley Christian boys and Kimball/White Lake girls won titles at Thursday’s Ethan/Parkston meet run at the Parkston Country Club. 

The James Valley Christian boys with 30 points, edged Kimball/White Lake (40) for the team title. Avon (63) and Mount Vernon/Plankinton (80) rounded out the top-five teams. The Kimball/White Lake girls won with 26 points, just edging James Valley Christian (29) for the girls team title. 

James Valley Christian’s Dax Frandsen covered the 5,000-meter course in 17:27, ahead of teammate Kaden Ober (17:34) and Kimball/White Lake’s Park Sinclair (17:44). Mount Vernon/Plankinton’s Hudson Schmidt (18:13) and Stanley County’s Spencer Sargent (18:19) rounded out the top-five finishers. 

Ethan/Parkston’s Ella Pollreisz won the girls race in 19:27, ahead of Kimball/White Lake’s Lily Baker and Mount Vernon/Plankinton’s Abigail Engelland (20:09). Kimball/White Lake’s Alli McCord (20:44) and James Valley Christian’s Darli Frandsen (20:54) completed the girls top-five finishers.
