Sioux Center (Iowa) 49, Tea Area 43 

SIOUX FALLS — Tea Area dropped a six-point decision against Sioux Center, Iowa, at the Border Battle on Saturday at the Sanford Pentagon.

Tea Area’s Anna Binde finished with 12 points, four rebounds and three assists. Emma Lingren scored eight points. Ellie Clayberg and Kya Haynes scored seven points apiece. Jaycie Babb added five points and four assists. 

For Sioux Center, Maryn Franken scored 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Makailyn Vander Waal had 10 points and nine rebounds. 


Waubay-Summit 61, Wilmot 57

SUMMIT — Faith Larson and Liza Purdy combined for 30 points during Waubay-Summit’s narrow victory over Wilmot Saturday.

Larson finished with 16 points. Purdy tallied 14 points. Aubrey Strang had nine points, Kayce Berger totaled eight points for the Mustangs, while Brianna Lindholm collected six points in the win.

Wilmot’s Addison Heinje tallied a game-high 35 points in the loss, Jada Cameron had eight points, while Mya Heinje totaled six points for the Wolves.


Harding County 55, Faith 30

BUFFALO — Three players scored in double figures as Harding County clipped Faith in high school girls basketball action.

Bailey Verhulst had 13 points, Macey Wendt tallied 12 points, Kelsi Costello totaled 11 points, Brayden Padden added eight points while Kaylen Padden recorded seven points in the win.

Faith’s Tyann Mortenson had a game-high 20 points while Kambelle Schauer collected four points in the loss.


Langford Area 35, Redfield 30

REDFIELD — Langford edged Redfield during high school girls basketball action Saturday at the Redfield classic.

Paytyn Marlow led the way with 13 points, Alexandria Darling tallied nine points, while Lizzie Gustafson totaled six points in the win.

Redfield’s Charli Jungwirth totaled 13 points in the loss, Hayden Gall had seven points, while Brynn Giblin tallied four points for the Pheasants.


Parkston 58, Miller 27

PARKSTON — Three players scored in double figures during Class B No. 2 Parkston’s victory over Miller Saturday.

Lauren Ziebart led the way with 14 points, four steals, three rebounds and three assists, Mya Thuringer added 11 points and six rebounds, Berkeley Ziebart tallied 11 points, five steals, four rebounds and three assists, Keeara Oakley collected eight points and eight rebounds, while Taylor Fink collected eight points and two steals in the win.

Miller’s Paige Werdel led with eight points and two assists, Morgan Kolda tallied six points, three steals and two rebounds, while Kaihlyn Anderberg tallied six points in the loss.


Faulkton 53, North Central 38

FAULKTON — Three players scored in double figures as Faulkton took down North Central in high school girls basketball action Saturday.

Carley Cotton led with 18 points, six rebounds, six assists and five steals, Anika Mueller tallied 13 points, seven rebounds, four steals and three assists, Presleigh Martinmaas tallied 12 points, eight rebounds and five steals, while Anna Aesoph added seven points, five assists and three rebounds in the win.

NC’s Amree Vander Vorst collected 17 points, eight rebounds and a steal, Ella Batie had nine points, 12 rebounds and two steals, while Linsey Geier and Alaina Dosch each had five points in the loss.


Northwestern 53, Florence-Henry 31

REDFIELD — Adriana Ratigan’s 25-point double-double lifted Northwestern past Florence-Henry Saturday.

Ratigan finished with 25 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks, Sophia Troske had 14 points and three steals, while Breelyn Satter tallied five points in the win.

FH’s Ashelyn Klitzke totaled 10 points and four rebounds, Ashlynn Vavruska collected five points, while Grace Kahnke had four points and six rebounds in the loss.


Castlewood 48, Deuel 22

CASTLEWOOD — Cydni Kudrna’s 15-point outing helped Castlewood defeat Deuel Saturday in high school girls basketball action.

Kudrna finished with 15 points and nine steals, Kayla Goens tallied eight points and five rebounds, Cassidy Kirwan totaled seven points and two steals, while Bryn Schooley tallied six points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals in the win.

Deuel’s Morgan Theisen had six points and four rebounds, while Katrina Hagberg and Camdyn Petereins each had four points in the loss.


Estelline-Hendricks 52, Little Wound 21

REDFIELD — Ayla Texley’’s 15-point performance lifted Estelline-Hendricks to a high school girls basketball victory Saturday.

Texley had 15 points in the win, Brooke Johnson tallied 10 points, Danelyn Greene collected nine points, while Presly Bury totaled five points in the win.

LW”s Tahca Zephier had 11 points while Rayonna Brave Bird totaled five points in the loss.


Sioux Falls Roosevelt 39, Rapid City Central 35

RAPID CITY — Sioux Falls Roosevelt clipped Rapid City Central during Saturday’s high school girls basketball action.

Henlee Loof totaled 14 points, Morgan Johnson had eight points and six rebounds, Brooklyn Koll added five points, five rebounds and eight steals, while Susan Olson and Kinsley Pesicka each had four points in the win.

RCC’s Leah Landry tallied 13 points, nine rebounds and three steals, Chloe Shreve had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Jo Pierce tallied five points in the loss.


Sioux Falls Washington 74, Pierre 53

SIOUX FALLS — Three players scored in double figures as Class AA No. 2 Sioux Falls Washington defeated Pierre on Saturday.

Washington’s Dana Harpe finished with 24 points, while Rylan Kennett added 14 points and four rebounds. Tierney Schramm had 12 points. Grace Peterson tallied nine assists, eight points and seven rebounds. Claire Woods and Jersey Peterson scored five points apiece.

For Pierre, Lennix DuPris recorded 19 points, four rebounds, four assists and three 3-pointers. Emery Larson added 19 points, four assists and three 3-pointers. Gracelyn Taylor and Addison Soma scored five points apiece. Molly Olson had four assists.
