Mount Vernon/Plankinton 56, Kimball/White Lake 34

PLANKINTON — Mount Vernon/Plankinton used a balanced scoring attack to pick up a girls basketball win over Kimball/White Lake on Friday.

MVP’s Kyia Schmidt scored a team-high 17 points and hit five 3-pointers. Reagan Rus and Vanessa Hoffman scored 10 points apiece. Berkeley Engelland added seven points

KWL’s Ryann Nielsen scored 14 points, while Harley Namanny added eight points. Ryann Grussing had five points. 


Lyman 67, Burke 66

PRESHO — Skyler Volmer and Mak Scott combined for 55 points to pace Lyman to a girls basketball win on Friday. 

Volmer finished with 35 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. Volmer also scored her 1,000th career point. Scott logged 20 points, eight rebounds, six steals and six assists. McKenzie Laverdure added eight points. 

Burke stats were not reported. 


Andes Central/Dakota Christian 47, Avon 39

AVON — Andes Central/Dakota Christian picked up a girls basketball win over Avon on Friday.

ACDC was led by Allison Muckey with 16 points and seven rebounds, while Josie Brouwer had 14 points, three assists, and three steals. Isabella Brouwer had five points, while Halle Olson grabbed 10 rebounds.

Avon’s Courtney Sees poured in 26 points, while Lila Vanderlei had seven points and seven rebounds.


Lennox 52, Platte-Geddes 36

PLATTE — Lennox pulled away from Platte-Geddes for a girls basketball win on Friday.

Lennox’s Andie Peters and Dani Highum scored 12 and 11 points, respectively. 

Platte-Geddes’ Karly VanDerWerff recorded 15 points. Cadence VanZee finished with nine points and seven rebounds. Hadley Hanson had seven points, while Regan Hoffman added five rebounds. 


Viborg-Hurley 58, Baltic 23

HURLEY — Class B No. 1 Viborg-Hurley used a balanced scoring attack to pick up a Friday girls basketball win. 

Coral Mason finished with 17 points, 12 rebounds and five steals. Denae Mach added 15 points and four rebounds. Charley Nelson had nine points and five rebounds. Estelle Lee logged nine points and four assists. Shelby Lyons had five rebounds and four points.

Baltic’s Baylee Breece scored seven points and Maiya Frederickson scored four points. 


Howard 67, Chester Area 46

CHESTER — Three players scored in double figures to lift Howard to a girls basketball win over Chester Area on Friday. 

Howard’s Kate Connor netted 22 points, while Abby Aslesen netted 13 points and Dakota Spader scored 11 points. 

Chester Area’s Emma Gottsch scored 12 points, while Emery Larson scored 11 points. Emmerson Eppard and Jacy Wolf scored 10 points apiece. Eppard grabbed 11 boards. 


Lemmon 79, Timber Lake 54

TIMBER LAKE — Lemmon upset Class B No. 3 Timber Lake in the Little Moreau Conference girls basketball tournament on Friday. The Cowgirls finished with 13 3-pointers in the victory. 

Lemmon’s Karly Riley finished with 24 points and hit five 3-pointers. Allie Kohn and Jordyn Kohn tossed in 20 points apiece. Allie Kohn added 10 assists and four 3-pointers. Kelly Lynch grabbed 11 rebounds. 

Timber Lake’s Jasmine Nash logged 20 points and 11 rebounds. Shay Kraft added 12 points, while Kendyl Locken had 10 points. Carlie Lawrence scored six points. 


Faith 53, Harding County 46 (OT)

TIMBER LAKE — Faith outlasted Harding County for a Little Moreau Conference girls basketball tournament win on Friday.

Faith’s TyAnn Mortenson logged 21 points and eight rebounds. Kambelle Schauer recorded 10 points and nine boards. Tailyn Pederson and Tandee Nelson scored seven points apiece. Shada Selby had five points and six rebounds. 

Harding County’s Claire Verhulst finished with 13 points, while Raelee Hunsucker scored 10 points. Reese Hunsucker added seven points. Brayden Padden scored six points, while Kaylen Padden finished with five points. 


Hanson 67, Canistota 32

ALEXANDRIA — Hanson jumped out to a 22-6 first-quarter lead en route to a girls basketball win over Canistota on Friday.

Taziah Hawkins finished with 15 points, while Alyssa Moschell added 14 points, six rebounds and four steals. Erin Dewald had 12 points. Annalyse Weber added nine points and five rebounds. Eliza Oltmanns posted eight points. 

Canistota’s Natalie Becker and Kayla Papendick finished with nine and six points, respectively. 


Vermillion 51, Garretson 25

GARRETSON — Class A No. 2 Vermillion improved to 12-0 with a girls basketball win over Garretson on Friday.

Vermillion’s Brooke Jensen finished with 16 points. Kasey Hanson added eight points and five steals. Leah Herbster scored eight points. Brooklyn Voss had five rebounds.

Garretson’s Kylie Christensen logged seven points and eight rebounds. Jordyn Williams added six steals. 


Flandreau 50, McCook Central/Montrose 32

FLANDREAU — Three players scored in double figures as Flandreau earned a win over McCook Central/Montrose in girls basketball action Friday. 

Sadie Iott paced the Fliers with 18 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Claire Sheppard scored 12 points while Lily Klein contributed 11 points and five rebounds. 

Anna Reiffenberger scored nine points while Aubree Kranz added eight points for McCook Central/Montrose. 


Canton 58, Beresford 50

BERESFORD — Canton used a late surge to earn a win over Beresford in girls basketball action Friday. 

Canton’s Shelbie Olseth and Amanda Lease each recorded 15 points for the C-Hawks. Danica Rozeboom and Jenna VandeWeerd each scored eight points for Canton. 

Beresford’s Ella Merriman led all scorers with 19 points. Irelyn Fichbohm added 11 points for the Watchdogs. 


De Smet 50, Estelline/Hendricks 44

ESTELLINE — De Smet pulled ahead late and earned a win over Estelline/Hendricks in girls basketball action Friday. 

Jada Burke led all scorers with 21 points. Hazel Luethmers pumped in 16 points and Emma Albrecht had nine points for the Bulldogs. 

Kenzy Beare led Estelline/Hendricks with 11 points. Madelyn Ebbers finished with 10 points and Sadie Johnson chipped in with nine points. 


Mitchell 59, Sioux Falls Lincoln 37

MITCHELL — Mitchell pulled past Sioux Falls Lincoln for a girls basketball win on Friday.

Addie Siemsen tossed in 19 points, while Sawyer Stoebner added 17 points. Lauren VanOverschelde scored 14 points. 

Lincoln stats were not reported. 


Rapid City Stevens 66, Watertown 42

RAPID CITY — Three players reached double figures as Rapid City Stevens won convincingly over Watertown in girls basketball action Friday. 

Taaliyah Porter led a balanced scoring attack with 14 points. Brittany Jones scored 13 points while Macey Wathan added 12 points and six rebounds. Izzy Higgins scored nine points and grabbed nine rebounds. 

Maddy Rhode and Jaida Young each scored 11 points for Watertown.

Brookings 47, Rapid City Central 33

RAPID CITY — Brookings picked up a girls basketball win over Rapid City Central on Friday.

Brookings was led by Logan Smidt with 13 points, while Gracey Sheridan had 12 points. Sophia Hammrich had six points and seven rebounds, while Macy Even also had six points.

Rapid City Central’s Aaliyah Jones had 13 points and eight rebounds, while Ally Davis and Villique Fallis each had six points.
