Mount Vernon/Plankinton 63, Dell Rapids St. Mary 52

ELKTON — Three players scored in double figures to pace Mount Vernon/Plankinton to a boys basketball win over Dell Rapids St. Mary at the Dakota Valley Conference Classic on Saturday. 

MVP’s Reed Rus finished with 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Zach Baker and Jordan Stoltz added 14 points apiece. Lincoln Klooz tossed in seven points, while Mason Hetland had six points and four rebounds. Christopher Mayer scored five points. 

DRSM’s Dylan Mathis scored 27 points, while Nic Gaspar, Ty Brown and John Pica scored seven points apiece. 


Sisseton 64, Redfield 53

REDFIELD — Sisseton picked up a boys basketball win over Redfield on Saturday.

Riley BraveBull tallied 23 points, while Jason Fisher scored 19 points. Ty Langager recorded 15 points and Austin Kohl added seven points.

For Redfield, Jerron Haider scored 14 points and Mitchell Mack tallied 12 points. Nolan Gall and Peyton Osborn recorded nine and eight points, respectively.


James Valley Christian 60, Ipswich 42

IPSWICH — James Valley Christian used a 22-9 first quarter to pull away from Ipswich in a boys basketball game on Saturday.

Landon Wallman recorded 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Isaac Korell scored nine points. Landon Wager added eight points and six assists.

Ipswich was led by Trevor Beyers with 11 points and three steals. Taylor Thorson tallied 10 points and nine rebounds, while Carter Geditz recorded eight points. Ian Beyers added seven points.


Langford Area 52, North Central 26

LANGFORD — Brayden Peterson and Jesse Keough scored 14 points apiece to lift Langford Area to a boys basketball win over North Central on Saturday.

Peterson added 12 rebounds. Ben Gustafson recorded nine points, while Kassen Keough had seven points. Jackson Bahr added six points. 

North Central’s Bryce Beitelspacher scored 13 points. 


Flandreau 56, Parker 47 

FLANDREAU — Three players scored in double figures to pace Flandreau to a boys basketball win over Parker on Saturday. 

Flandreau’s Chase LeBrun finished with 18 points and five rebounds. Tash Lunday added 17 points and seven rebounds. Alex Anderson had 11 points and five assists. 

Parker’s Carter Robertson scored 21 points and Davin Fuller finished with 16 points. 


Colman-Egan 52, Ortonville, Minn., 45

ELKTON — Colman-Egan pulled away from Ortonville, Minn., for a boys basketball win on Saturday. 

Ben Zwart finished with 17 points and five rebounds. Sawyer Uhing added 11 points, while Austin Gullickson had six rebounds. Antonio Manzano had five rebounds. 

Ortonville’s Owen Longnecker finished with 12 points and six rebounds. Hunter Merritt and Daunte Fetters scored 11 and 10 points, respectively. 


Elkton-Lake Benton 63, Hills-Beaver Creek, Min. 51

ELKTON — Elkton-Lake Benton picked up a boys basketball win over Hills-Beaver Creek at the DVC Classic on Saturday.

Aiden Erickson scored 19 points and Ryan Krog tallied 18 points and eight rebounds. Isaac Jaacks added eight points.


Castlewood 67, Canistota 52

ELKTON — Three players scored in double-figures as Castlewood won a boys basketball game over Canistota at the DVC Classic on Saturday.

Tristan Nielsen scored 22 points, while Lane Tvedt tallied 16 points. Jackson Schofield recorded 10 points and Carson Kirwan added eight points.

For Canistota, Tage Ortman scored 21 points and Isiah Robertson added 10 points.


Chester Area 51, Beresford 42

CHESTER — Chester Area pulled away from Beresford for a boys basketball win on Saturday. 

Jovi Wolf and Stratton Eppard led the Flyers with 14 points apiece. Eppard added six steals and Brock Wages hauled in 11 rebounds.  

Beresford’s Tate VanOtterloo recorded 16 points, while Ashton Tjaden grabbed 13 rebounds. 


Girls basketball 

Bon Homme 49, Alcester-Hudson 40

TYNDALL — Bon Homme used a 18-12 fourth quarter to secure a girls basketball win over Alcester-Hudson on Saturday. 

Jaden Kortan finished with 15 points, three assists and three steals. Olivia Bures added 13 points, while Camille Sykora had 11 points. Erin Heusinkveld recorded four steals. 

Alcester-Hudson’s Elly Doering and Veronica Rhead scored 11 points apiece. 


Flandreau 72, Parker 22

FLANDREAU — Three players scored in double figures to lead Class A No. 3 Flandreau to a girls basketball win over Parker on Saturday. 

Maria Parsley recorded 16 points and seven rebounds, while Faith Wiese added 14 points and five rebounds. Claire Sheppard had 12 points. 

Parker’s Parker Lessman scored 10 points. 


Aberdeen Roncalli 52, Milbank 18

MILBANK — Three players scored in double-figures as Class B No. 1 Aberdeen Roncalli cruised past Milbank in a girls basketball game on Saturday.

Madelyn Bragg scored 19 points and seven rebounds, while Morgan Fiedler recorded 13 points and Olivia Hanson added 11 points. Ava Hanson tallied seven points.

For Milbank, Maurina Street scored six points and Claire Snaza added five points and seven boards.


James Valley Christian 55, Ipswich 34

IPSWICH — James Valley Christian raced past Ipswich for a girls basketball win on Saturday.

Karilyn Wieting scored 18 points and nine assists, and four steals, while Alexa Goertz tallied 14 points. Brenna Held added 11 points.

For Ipswich, Katie Bierman scored 15 points, five rebounds, and five assists, while Quincy Olivier added six points and seven rebounds.


Clark/Willow Lake 51, Wilmot 42

WILMOT — Clark/Willow Lake picked up a girls basketball win over Wilmot on Saturday.

Kayla Jordan recorded 15 points to pace the Cyclones. Alicia Vig totaled 14 points and Maggie Hovde added 13 points.

For Wilmot, Madeline Remund scored a game-high 21 points, while Paris Red Thunder added 11 points.


Beresford 79, Chester Area 75 (OT)

CHESTER — Beresford outlasted Chester Area in an overtime girls basketball game on Saturday. 

Beresford’s Kara Niles netted 21 points, while Abby Hansen added 20 points. 

Chester Area’s Emmerson Eppard tossed in 22 points, while Emery Larson scored 20 points and handed out seven assists. Carly Becker added 17 points and Jacy Wolf dished out 11 assists.


Great Plains Lutheran 52, Iroquois/Doland 34 

IROQUOIS — Great Plains Lutheran used a 20-4 second quarter to pull away from Iroquois/Doland in girls basketball action on Saturday. 

GPL’s Mali York finished with 20 points, seven rebounds and six 3-pointers. Halle Bauer logged 14 points and six rebounds. Madeline Prahl posted 10 points and six rebounds. Esta Cameron dished out seven assists. 


Huron 53, Sturgis 46

HURON — Hamtyn Heinz and Isabelle Ellwein scored 13 points apiece to lead Huron to a girls basketball win over Sturgis on Saturday. 

Heinz added seven rebounds, four assists and three steals. Heaven Gainey recorded nine points and five rebounds. Isabella Shreeve finished with six points and six rebounds. Reese Rozell logged five points. 

Sturgis’ Kaylee Whatley logged 13 points and eight rebounds. Taylor Price and Reese Ludwick scored nine points apiece, while Ludwick grabbed 12 rebounds. Lexi Long scored eight points and Tatum Ligtenberg added five points.
