Sanborn Central-Woonsocket 64, Highmore-Harrold 43

HURON — A 34-point outing for Liz Boschee powered Sanborn Central-Woonsocket to the girls 281 Conference championship Thursday. Boschee also scored her 1,000th career point. 

Boschee finished with 34 points and eight rebounds, Alexa Goertz had 12 points, seven steals and four assists, while Kaylie Robinson added six rebounds in the win.

HH”s Jada Baloun tallied 15 points, 10 rebounds and four steals, Elle Stagg added 10 points, while Autumn Fallis brought in nine points, eight rebounds and six assists in the loss.


Wessington Springs 46, Hitchcock-Tulare 45

HURON — Wessington Springs clipped Hitchcock-Tulare for third place at the 281 Conference girls basketball tournament on Thursday.

Wessington Springs’ Mariah Messmer finished with 11 points and five rebounds. Kerstynn Heim added 10 points and nine rebounds. Ashlyn Weber and Kenzie Kolousek scored eight points apiece. Londyn Mikkelson scored six points.

HT’s Katelyn Schroeder finished with 22 points and six rebounds. Cambree Hoekman added eight points. Rebecca Huizenga scored five points and six rebounds. Isabel Gilbert tallied three points, four assists and five rebounds.


Lennox 46, West Central 40

LENNOX — Lennox clipped West Central during Thursday’s high school girls basketball action.

Ryan Hanssen led the Orioles with 14 points and seven rebounds while Libby Kranz tallied 12 points and 10 rebounds in the win.

WC’s Kacey Jaton totaled 10 points in the loss.


Groton 42, Milbank 34

MILBANK — Groton edged Milbank Thursday in high school girls basketball action.

Faith Traphagen led with 11 points, Taryn Traphagen added nine points and five rebounds, Rylee Dunker collected seven points and five rebounds, while Kennedy Hansen totaled six points in the win.

Milbank’s Isabella Anderson totaled 13 points, three rebounds and three assists, Tyra Berry had 11 points and eight steals, while Anna Neugebauer finished with seven points and six rebounds in the loss.


Wolsey-Wessington 45, Iroquois/Lake Preston 33

HURON — A balanced scoring attack helped Wolsey-Wessington slip past Iroquois/Lake Preston for fifth place at the 281 Conference tournament on Thursday. 

Shae Uttecht led Wolsey-Wessington with 15 points. Kendall Uttecht added 10 points and Marisa Nelson and Kenli Hooks each scored four points for Wolsey-Wessington. 

Hadlee Holt led Iroquois/Lake Preston with 10 points and six steals and six assists. Kera Dubro finished with nine points while Bentlee Holt had six points and six rebounds.


Viborg-Hurley 55, Baltic 24

BALTIC — Kendra Gilbert and Jenna Graves combined for 33 points as Viborg-Hurley defeated Batlid in girls basketball action Thursday. 

Graves led Viborg-Hurley with 17 points, a rebound, two assists and two steals. Gilbert added 16 points and four rebounds. Charley Nelson contributed seven points and Aubree Schwartz netted six points. 

Meredith Larson led Baltic with eight points. 


Ipswich 49, Faulkton Area 41

FAULKTON — Ipswich clipped Faulkton Area for a high school girls basketball victory Thursday.

Tristan Gedits led with 11 points, five rebounds and four steals, Marley Gutmiller recorded 10 points, 10 rebounds and six steals, while Anna Nierman added 10 points and four steals in the win.

FA’s Carley Cotton tallied 13 points and four rebounds, Anika Mueller recorded 13 points and seven rebounds, while Presleigh Martinmaas had seven points and seven steals in the loss.

 

Northwestern 49, Leola-Frederick 30

MELLETTE — Tara Blachford’s 17-point game lifted Northwestern over Leola-Frederick Thursday.

Blachford finished with 17 points and five steals, Adriana Ratigan added 11 points and six rebounds, Ashley Haven recorded nine points and eight rebounds, while Ella Beohelheide tallied seven points and 10 rebounds in the win.

LF’s Eden Podoll tallied nine points and six rebounds, Arabella Clark totaled nine points and eight rebounds, while Jillian Ellwein added eight points and eight rebounds in the loss.


Sunshine Bible Academy 38, James Valley Christian 31

HURON — Sunshine Bible Academy slipped past James Valley Christian to finish seventh place at the 281 Conference tournament on Thursday. 

Abby Hinman powered Sunshine Bible Academy with 13 points and seven rebounds and 12 steals. Tessa Hinman finished with nine points and six steals while Breanna Thieman had eight points and five rebounds. 

Addison Kleinsasser led James Valley Christian with 12 points and Janiyah Waldner finished with eight points.


Parkston 61, Bon Homme 28

PARKSTON — Berkeley Ziebart and Keeara Oakley combined for 39 points in Class B No. 2 Parkston’s win over Bon Homme Thursday.

Ziebart led the Trojans with 21 points and four steals, Oakley tallied 18 points and nine rebounds, Mya Thuringer tallied nine points, five assists and four steals, while Morgan Maxwell added six points in the win.

BH’s Kenadee Kozak had 10 points while Taycee Ranek added eight points and seven rebounds in the loss.


Waubay-Summit 42, Aberdeen Christian 18

SUMMIT — Waubay-Summit defeated Aberdeen Christian during Thursday’s high school girls basketball action.

Brianna Lindholm led the Mustangs with 12 points, Faith Larson tallied 10 points, while Kayce Berger collected nine points in the win.

AC’s Jolie Fogarty and Arianna Johnson each had four points in the loss.


Castlewood 65, Oldham/Ramona-Rutland 29

RAMONA — Ava Ruml’s 17-point double-double helped Castlewood defeat Oldham/Ramona-Rutland in high school girls basketball action.

Ruml finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds, Claire Horn totaled nine points and five rebounds, Bryn Schooley and Cydni Kudrna each had seven points, while Kendra Nielsen, Sophia Kudrna and Kayla Goens each had six points in the win.

ORR’s Bailey Hyland recorded 14 points and eight rebounds in the loss.


Miller 65, Chamberlain 23

CHAMBERLAIN — Paige Werdel and Morgan Kolda powered Miller to a dominant victory over Chamberlain Thursday.

Werdel finished with 16 points, Kolda tallied 14 points, Kaihlyn Anderberg added nine points, while Gracen Werdel totaled seven points in the win.

Chamberlain’s Kailikiah Rohrbach led the Cubs with 11 points in the loss, while Kali Randall added six points as well.


Lyman 70, Burke 35

BURKE — Mak Scott’s 23-point double-double powered Class B No. 3 Lyman over Burke Thursday in high school girls basketball action.

Scott finished with 23 points, 10 rebounds and four steals, Brooke Montgomery and Jordyn Scott each had 11 points, while Bree Smart and Brooke Palmer each totaled 10 points in the win.

Burke’s Kaillee Frank tallied 13 points and two assists, while Paige Bull added 13 points and five rebounds in the loss.


Colman-Egan 57, Elkton-Lake Benton 14

ELKTON — Three players scored in double figures as Colman-Egan took down Elkton-Lake Benton Thursday in high school girls basketball action.

Kaylee Voelker led the Hawks with 17 points, Brynlee Landis added 14 points, Jolie Flatten collected 11 points, while Mya Reiff added six points in the win.

ELB’s Sydney DeVries tallied six points while Charlie Thooft added five points in the loss.


Hamlin 61, Redfield 11

HAYTI — A balanced scoring attack powered Class A No. 5 Hamlin past Redfield Thursday.

Addie Steffensen led the Chargers with 16 points, Issie Steffensen and Jo Steffensen each had 11 points, while Addie Neuendorf collected nine points in the win.

Redfield’s Brynn Giblin tallied six points in the loss.


Douglas 38, Hot Springs 28

BOX ELDER — A balanced scoring effort helped Douglas slip past Hot Springs in girls basketball action Thursday. 

Emma Blaisure led Douglas with 14 points. Olivia Harris added 10 points and Ramey Johnson chipped in with eight points. 

Destiny Well led Hot Springs with seven points.
