Lakota Tech 91, Hot Springs 22

HOT SPRINGS — Shania Ferguson powered Lakota Tech to a girls basketball win on Friday.

Ferguson netted 28 points, while Lizzie Robinson scored 15 points. Layla Janis recorded 11 points and Isabella Shangreaux had 10 points. Amelia Shangreaux had eight points, while Daisy Red Hawk and Kayla Long Soldier scored five points apiece. 

For Hot Springs, Haylee White scored seven points and Kenadee Maciejewski had six points. Olivia LeGrand scored five points.  


Hamlin 54, Castlewood 20

HAYTI — Three players scored in double figures as Class A No. 3 Hamlin picked up a girls basketball win over Castlewood on Friday.

Hamlin’s Addie Neuendorf finished with 14 points, hit four 3-pointers and scored her 1,000th career point. Jo Steffensen added 11 points and Issie Steffensen scored 10 points. Addie Steffensen added nine points and six rebounds, while Payton Neuendorf had six points.

For Castlewood, Cassidy Kirwan scored five points.


Todd County 62, Cheyenne-Eagle-Butte 58

MISSION — The Todd County girls earned a win over Cheyenne-Eagle Butte in girls high school basketball action Friday. 

Luisa Two Eagle paced the Falcons with a career-high 30 points, including seven in the fourth quarter. Bree White Hat added nine points while Tashay LeRoy finished with seven points. 

Suni Bowman led Cheyenne-Eagle Butte with 26 points, making 14-of-20 free throws. Dakotta Longbrake added 13 points for the Braves while Tommi Chasing Hawk finished with seven points.


Vermillion 49, Tri-Valley 46

COLTON — Three players scored in double figures as Class A No. 2 Vermillion edged Tri-Valley in girls basketball action on Friday. 

Brooke Jensen finished with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Taylor Reuvers added 10 points and seven rebounds. Kasey Hanson scored 10 points.

For Tri-Valley, Hailey Sorensen and Mattie Huwe scored 14 points apiece.


Wagner 58, Avon 43

AVON — Ashlyn Koupal scored 26 points to help Class A No. 4 Wagner defeat Avon Friday.

Koupal finished with 26 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, four steals and three blocks,  Lydia Yost added 14 points, five steals and four assists, Braxton Nedved tallied nine points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals, while Hayden Knudsen recorded six points in the win.

Avon’s Rilyn Thury had 15 points and six steals, Lila Vanderlei had nine points, four rebounds and two steals, while Kaeli Wallinga totaled six points, four rebounds and two assists in the loss.


Sioux Valley 62, Custer 43

VOLGA — four girls scored in double figures as Sioux Valley defeated Custer in high school girls basketball action Friday.

Liberty Trygstad led the Cossacks with 17 points, five assists and four rebounds, Keyra Kruse added 14 points, six rebounds and two assists, Kailey Cradduck tallied 13 points, five rebounds and five assists, while Talya Vincent recorded 12 points, four rebounds and three assists in the win.

Custer’s Kylee Ellerton had 14 points, seven rebounds and three assists, Jordyn Larsen recorded nine points, two rebounds and two assists, Jayda Bennett and Keira Nelson each had eight points in the loss.


Hanson 56, Irene-Wakonda 34

IRENE — Three players scored in double figures during Hanson’s victory over Irene-Wakonda Friday.

Ava Doyle led with 17 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals, Kylie Haiar had 15 points, 11 rebounds and three steals, while Claire Bridge tallied 12 points, three steals and two rebounds in the win.

IW’s Madison Orr had a double-double with 10 points and 15 rebounds, Emily Oien tallied seven points and three steals, while Maryn Lyngstad totaled six points, four rebounds and two assists in the loss.


Dakota Valley 60, Cedar Catholic (Neb.) 51

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Dakota Valley jumped out to a 21-4 first-quarter lead and hung on for a girls basketball win on Friday.

Dakota Valley’s Cameryn Sommervold finished with 27 points and nine rebounds. Ella Otten added 17 points and five steals. Aubree Worden added nine rebounds. 

Addison Walter scored 16 points in the loss, while Katelyn Arens added 10 points. 


Rapid City Christian 59, Shiloh Christian 34

BISMARCK, N.D. — Sadie Marshall and Lydia Williams combined to score 35 points as Rapid City Christian picked up a girls basketball win on Friday.

Marshall finished with 20 points, while Williams added 15 points. Brynn Casey added nine points. 


Rapid City Stevens 67, Rapid City Central 39

RAPID CITY — Taaliyah Porter dropped 34 points in Class AA No. 4 Rapid City Stevens victory over Rapid City Central Friday.

Porter finished with 34 points, five rebounds and two steals in the win. Hayden Thorton had 12 points, Finley Love totaled 12 points and three rebounds, while Jessa Griswold added four points in the win.

RCC’s Chloe Shreve had 18 points, Leah Landry tallied 13 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals, while Olivia Pierce had six points in the loss.
