Madison Dairy Queen Broncos 13, Hartford/Humboldt Wood Ducks 3 (8 innings)

MADISON — Madison’s Tyler Tappe struck out 10 batters in a Cornbelt League amateur baseball win on Thursday.

Tappe allowed three hits, five walks and zero earned runs through six innings. Tappe added a hit and an RBI. 

Greg Biagi finished 4-for-4 and drove in three runs. Dawson Bakker had two hits and knocked in three runs. Tyler Smith and Peyton Wolf each had hits. 

For the Wood Ducks, Nathan Adrian, Logan Larson, Braden Herr, Austin King and Derek Renken each had hits. Larson took the loss, allowing seven hits, eight earned runs, seven walks and struck out six batters in 5.1 innings. 


Canova Gang 7, Colman A’s 0 

COLMAN — Three Canova pitchers combined for a shutout in Cornbelt League amateur baseball action on Thursday.

Jack Neises struck out 12 batters and allowed three hits through seven innings. Jason Miller (2 K) and Justin Miller also pitched for the Gang. Justin Miller finished 3-for-4, while Jared Miller and Cole Gassman each had two hits. Riley Genzlinger, Derek Miller, Garrett Gassman, Kendall Gassman and Tim Gassman each had hits. Jared Miller drove in two runs.

For Colman, Carter Roach, Paul Clark and Chase DeWitt each had hits. Clark took the loss, allowing 12 hits, five earned runs and struck out six batters through eight innings. 


Yankton Tappers 3, Tabor Bluebirds 0

TABOR — Kade Sudbeck struck out 15 batters in a South Central League amateur baseball win on Thursday.

Sudbeck allowed four hits, zero runs and two walks through 7.1 innings. Sudbeck added a hit. Joe Gokie, Josh Sheldon and Noah Stoizek each had two hits. Will Rauch, Rugby Ryken and Sheldon each drove in runs. 

For Tabor, Riley Rothschadl had two of the team’s four hits. Hunter Hallock and Zach Sutera each had hits. Chase Kortan took the loss, allowing five hits, one earned run and struck out four batters in seven innings. 


Winner/Colome Pheasants 6, Dimock-Emery Raptors 3

EMERY — Winner/Colome piled up 14 hits and Connor Hopkins struck out eight batters in a Sunshine League amateur baseball win on Thursday.

Drew DeMers led Winner/Colome’s offense with two hits, drove in three runs and smacked a homer. Austin Calhoon had three hits, while Derek Graesser, Aiden Barfuss and Oscar Pravacek each had two hits. Reed Harter, Chandler Bakley and Dillon Lambley each had hits. 

Hopkins allowed seven hits, two earned runs and three walks through seven innings. Harter earned the save after striking out three batters and allowing zero hits through two scoreless relief innings.

For Dimock-Emery, Peyton Nash and Colton Plagmann each had two hits. Drew Kitchens, Phil Johnson and Chase Arend each had hits. Arend and Phil Johnson each drove in runs. Josh Engquist took the loss, allowing 13 hits, five earned runs, three walks and struck out three batters in seven innings. 


Corsica Horned Frogs 6, Parkston Mudcats 5

PARKSTON — Blake Moke’s ninth-inning RBI single lifted Corsica to a Sunshine League amateur baseball win on Thursday.

Moke finished 3-for-5 and drove in three runs, including his ninth-inning RBI that broke a 5-5 tie. Aaron Groeneweg went 3-for-5, while Brady Christoffels had two hits. Tyson Wentland and Nathan Blom each had hits. Wentland drove in two runs. Christoffels earned the win, striking out six batters, allowing eight hits, three walks and zero earned runs through 8.2 innings. 

For the Mudcats, Dan Bonte finished 2-for-4 and drove in a run. Luke Bormann had a hit and drove in three runs. Jeff Harris, Tyson Kogel, Jake Goble, Will Jodozi and Dylan Mogck each had hits. Jake Weber allowed 11 hits, six earned runs, three walks and struck out four batters in the nine-inning loss. 


Lennox/Chancellor/Worthing Dirt Devils 9, Akron Rebels (Iowa) 6

AKRON — Brett Duncan’s four-RBI day helped Lennox/Chancellor/Worthing defeat Akron in State Line League action Thursday.

Duncan batted 2-for-5, including a double and four RBIs, Cody Thompson batted 1-for-4 with two RBIs, Wyatt Adam drove in a run on three hits, including two doubles, while Tate Reiner tallied two hits and an RBI in the victory.

Three pitchers combined for the victory on the mound, but Nate Kucera saw the most time with 3.2 innings, allowing two runs on seven hits and three walks.

For Akron, Brett Stolpe took the loss in 8.2 innings, allowing eight runs on 10 hits and a walk, striking out six batters.

Christian Stekl drove in two runs on three hits, including a double, Mason Coppock and Jesse Heeran each drove in a run on two hits and a walk, while Stolpe drove in a run on one hit and one walk for Akron in the loss.


Wessington Springs Owls 8, Four Corners 4

WESSINGTON SPRINGS — Mason Schelske and Blake Larson combined for 11 strikeouts for a Pony Hills League amateur baseball win on Thursday.

Schleske struck out six batters, allowed seven hits, three earned runs and two walks in six innings for the win. Larson had five strikeouts, allowed one hit, zero runs and two walks through three innings. Larson added two hits and two RBI. Dalton Mogck, Parker DeJean and Dylan Schimke each had two hits. DeJean drove in two runs. 

For Four Corners, Shea Connot had two hits and drove in a run. Josh Davies took the loss, allowing seven hits, five earned runs, two walks and struck out six batters in 4.1 innings.


Burke Bombers 18, Plankinton F&M Bankers 7

PLANKINTON — Blake Boes drove in three runs to help Burke defeat Plankinton in Pony Hills League play Thursday night.

Boes batted 3-for-5 with a walk, double, and three RBIs, while earning the victory on the mound for Burke in three innings, allowing one run on one hit and nine walks, striking out three.

Hunter Van NiewenHuyse, Coy Determan, and Brogan Glover each drove in two runs on two hits, including two doubles by Glover, Rylan Peck drove in two runs on a double and three walks, while Sawyer Tietgen and Aaron Sundquist each drove in a run on three walks.

For Plankinton, Hunter Pranger took the loss in 3.1 innings, allowing 13 runs on nine hits and 10 walks, striking out two batters.

Pranger led the Bankers with two doubles and a walk, Cain Tobin drove in a run on one hit and a walk, while Kane Knudson drove in two runs on two walks.


Alexandria Angels 12, Platte Killer Tomatoes 0 (7 innings)

ALEXANDRIA — Alexandria racked up 15 hits in a Sunshine League amateur baseball win on Thursday.

Cole Wenande led the way with four hits (two doubles), drove in two runs and smacked a home run. Jordan Gau added three hits and knocked in two runs. Tyson Gau, Pierce Smith and Reid Smith each had two hits. Jerrod Zens and Jacob Giles each added hits. Reid Smith and Tyson Gau each drove in runs. Riley McSherry earned the win, striking out 12 batters and allowed four hits. 

For Platte, Hayden Kuiper finished 2-for-3. Richard Sternberg and Travis Gant each had hits. Kuiper took the loss, allowing 15 hits, 11 earned runs, two walks and struck out four batters in six innings. 


Garretson Blue Jays 9, Tea Steam 2

GARRETSON — Garretson drove in eight runs on 10 hits in a State Line League victory over Tea Thursday night.

Scott Splett drove in three runs on a double, Jesse Brockhouse drove in a run on two hits, Jason Swatek collected three hits, while Robin Chute, Nick Bonte, Aaron LaBrie, and Cole Koch each drove in one run on one hit in the victory.

Dustin Steckler took the victory on the mound for Garretson, allowing two runs on three hits and a walk, striking out seven in five innings.

For Tea, Michael Buchmann took the loss in 1.1 innings, allowing eight runs on seven hits and two walks.

Buchmann drove in one run on a homer and a walk, while Troy Ljunggren, Trey Heckenlaible, and Gabe Glanzer each tallied hits in the loss.


Winner Demons 3, Chamberlain Mallards 2

WINNER — Evan Farner struck out nine batters as Winner edged Chamberlain for a Pony Hills League amateur baseball win on Thursday.

Farner allowed five hits, one earned run and walked four batters in a complete-game performance on 133 pitches. Pierce Nelson had two hits, including a triple and drove in a run. Kayleb Brozik, Ashton Klein and Jack Peters each had hits. Klein drove in a run.

For Chamberlain, Mike Schwartz struck out 12 batters, allowed five hits, three earned runs and walked two batters through eight innings. Dakota Munger had two hits and drove in a run. Schwartz, Sandler Wiekamp and Ian Anderson each had hits. 


Kimball/White Lake Nationals 11, Colome Chaos 2

COLOME — Dylanger Pierson drove in four runs during a Pony Hills League victory over Colome Thursday.

Pierson batted 1-for-4 with a home run driving in four runs, Jaxon Christensen drove in two runs on three hits, Jon Lyons drove in three runs on two hits and a walk, while Carter Lenz tallied two hits in the win. Mitchell Price earned the victory on the mound for KWL, allowing two runs on six hits and a walk, striking out seven.

For Colome, Ethan Vobr took the loss in a complete game effort, allowing 11 runs on 13 hits and three walks, striking out seven.

Carter Brickman and Vobr each tallied two hits, while Jake Luse drove in a run on one hit and one walk in the loss.


Menno Mad Frogs 12, Parkston Devil Rays 2 (7 innings)

MENNO — Spencer Schultz four-RBI day helped Menno defeat Parkston in non-league amateur baseball action Thursday night.

Schultz batted 3-for-4 with four RBIs, Ajay Herrboldt drove in two runs on three hits and an RBI, Brayden Sattler batted 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, while #17 drove in two runs on three hits.

Tom Sattler earned the victory on the mound for Menno, issuing 2 runs on four hits and three walks, striking out three.

For Parkston, Max Scott took the loss in 4.1 innings pitched, allowing eight runs on 11 hits and three walks, striking out seven batters.

Carter Sommer tallied two hits, including a double, for the Devil Rays in three at-bats, TJ Schmidt drove in a run on a double, while James Deckert tallied a hit in the win as well.


Dell Rapids Mudcats 12, Flandreau Blue Teal 0 (7 innings)

FLANDREAU — Kris Regas tossed 18 strikeouts during a Cornbelt League victory over Flandreau Thursday.

Regas tossed all seven innings for Dell Rapids, allowing just two hits along with 18 strikeouts to earn the victory on the mound for the Mudcats.

J Roeman highlighted the Mudcat offense with two hits, a walk, and a homer driving in two runs, Trevor Fruedenthal batted 2-for-4 with a walk and two RBIs, Kole Zimmerman drove in two runs on a hit and a walk, Carter Gullickson drove in a run on a hit and two walks, while Dalton Allen collected two hits in the win for Dell Rapids.

For Flandreau, Mason Riley took the loss in 5.1 innings, issuing seven runs on six hits and four walks.

Gage Sharping and Tristan Peters each tallied hits in the loss.


Lesterville 11, Wynot Expos 1 (7 innings)

LESTERVILLE — Lesterville racked up 14 hits in a South Central League amateur baseball win on Thursday.

Lesterville’s Michael Drotzmann, Tyler Edler and Hunter Martin logged three hits apiece. Martin knocked in two runs. Tanner Van Driel and Garret Damico had two hits apiece. Derek Quame added a hit. Van Driel drove in three runs, while Martin had two RBI. Dawson Bietz earned the win, logging five strikeouts, allowing four hits, zero earned runs and six walks in five innings.

For Wynot, Scott Morrison, Dain Whitmore, David Schenk and Austin Janssen each had hits. Whitmire took the loss, allowing five hits, four earned runs, two walks and zero strikeouts in one inning.

 

Baltic River Dawgs 5, Valley Springs Rats 3

VALLEY SPRINGS — Matt White tossed 13 strikeouts during an amateur baseball victory over Valley Springs Thursday.

White issued two runs on three hits and four walks in seven innings of work, tossing 13 strikeouts to earn the victory on the mound for Baltic.

Dalton Garbers paced the River Dawg offense with two hits, a double, a walk, and two RBIs, Ty Schafer drove in a run on one hit, while Tristian Fitzsimmons and Noah Hammond each tallied hits in the win.

For Valley Springs, Jared Zerr took the loss in three innings on the mound, issuing three runs on four hits and three walks, striking out four.

Cole Frisbie drove in a run on a triple, while Jaxon Haase, Nate Meyers, and Riley Sneller each tallied hits in the loss.


Renner Monarchs 12, Brookings Cubs 6

BROOKINGS — Tony Lanier tallied nine RBIs during an amateur baseball victory over Brookings Thursday.

Lanier batted 3-for-6, including a double and a homer, driving in nine of Renner’s 12 runs in the victory. Adam Durfee drove in two runs on one hit and one walk, while Mitchel Steffen drove in a run on a double and a walk. Ben Ihrke, Chaz Palmer, and Aiden Ladd each tallied hits in the win.

Jed Schmidt took the victory on the mound tossing three shutout innings, striking out four batters.

For Brookings, Zach Shastay took the loss in five innings pitched, issuing four runs on three hits and seven walks, striking out four.

Chase McDaniel drove in two runs on two hits while Parker Winghart drove in a run on two hits, including a double. Lukas Adelman and Noel Burgos each had RBIs on walks in the loss.

CLARK — Castlewoodd racked up 14 hits in a Eastern Dakota League victory over Clark Wednesday night. 

Blayne Schliesman batted 2-for-4 with a homer, walk, and two RBIs. Kegan Tvedt batted 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Booker Schooley collected three hits, including two doubles, two walks, and an RBI, Adam Ching and Lucas Ching each drove in a run on one hit and two walks, while Gus Steiger tallied two hits in the win as well.

Nate Phinney earned the victory on the mound issuing two runs on five hits and one walk, striking out four.

For Clark, Jeffrey Paulson took the loss in three innings pitched, allowing three runs on six hits and five walks, striking out five.

Andrew Magedanz batted 2-for-4 with a walk, double, and homer, Rhett Florey batted 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and Bryce DesLauriers batted 3-for-4 with a walk and an RBI.


Parkston Devil Rays 13, Wynot Expos (Neb.) 12

PARKSTON — After a combined 30 hits, 25 runs, and eight errors, Parkston outlasted Wynot in non-league amateur baseball action Wednesday.

James Deckert led the way for Parkston, batting 2-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs, Brayden Jervik drove in a run on two hits, a double, and a walk, Carter Sommer tallied two hits in the victory, Caleb Titze drove in a run on one hit and a walk, while Max Scott drove in a run on a walk as well.

Dylan Soulek, Jake Helleloid, and Landon Sudbeck each tallied hits in the victory for Parkston.

Ty Neugebauer earned the victory on the mound, allowing one run on three hits in 1.2 innings of relief, striking out three batters.

For Wynot, Three pitchers combined for the loss, allowing 10 hits, 10 walks, and 13 runs, striking out 10 batters.

Lee Heimes led the Wynot offense batting 4-for-5, including two doubles and a triple, driving in five runs for the Expos. Austen Janssen batted 2-for-5 with a double and three RBIs, Steve Heimes drove in two runs on a walk and two RBIs, Ryan Heimes batted 3-for-4 with an RBI and a walk, while Scott Heimes tallied two hits in the loss.


Milbank Firechiefs 5, Lake Norden Lakers 0

MILBANK — Dom Boerger tossed 19 strikeouts to blank Lake Norden during a Eastern Dakota League victory Wednesday night.

Boerger threw all nine innings for Milbank, allowing just five hits and a walk along with 19 strikeouts to earn the victory on the mound.

Boerger and Merik Junker each drove in a run on one hit, while Taylor Boerger added an RBI as well. Brady Krause tallied three hits in four at-bats, Tyler Krause tallied two hits, while Kaden Krause added a hit in the win for Milbank.

For Lake Norden, Jordon Johnson took the loss in an eight-inning effort, issuing five runs on eight hits and four walks, striking out seven.

Cam Thue tallied two hits while Mitchell Noem, Josh Cleveland, and Jesse Vanoverbeke each tallied hits in the loss.


Aberdeen Circus 9, Groton Locke Electric 2

ABERDEEN — Aberdeen drove in seven runs on 11 hits to defeat Groton in a Northern Plains League victory Wednesday.

Ryan Ellingson and Don Thorson each drove in two runs on three combined hits, including a triple by Thorson. Kelly Coates drove in a run on two hits, Corey Harrell tallied two doubles and a walk, while Tyler Oliver drove in a run on one hit and two walks.

Evan Brandt earned the victory on the mound for Aberdeen, allowing one run on five hits in five innings, striking out four.

For Groton, Wyatt Locke took the loss in eight innings on the mound, allowing nine runs on 11 hits and seven walks, striking out four.

Spencer Locke led the offense with two hits, while Cole Simon and Ben Althoff each drove in a run in the loss.
