Winner/Colome 6, Mount Vernon 3

MOUNT VERNON — Winner/Colome edged Mount Vernon for a Sunshine League amateur baseball win on Thursday. 

Connor Hopkins struck out nine batters, scattered seven hits, allowed four walks and two earned runs in his eight-inning start.

Austin Calhoon led Winner/Colome with three hits and an RBI. Derek Graesser, Drew DeMers, Reed Harter, Dillon Lambley and Trevor Salmonson had hits. Harter drove in two runs, while Calhoon and Salmonson knocked in runs. 

For Mount Vernon, Deric Denning and Brady Albrecht had two hits apiece. Briggs Havlik, Chase Hetland, Eric Giblin and Cam Deinert had hits. Luke Tiesler allowed eight hits, two earned runs, three walks and struck out two batters in his 7.1-inning start. 


Alexandria 10, Platte 0 (7 innings)

ALEXANDRIA — Alexandria racked up 14 hits and Tyson Gau threw a two-hit shutout en route to a Sunshine League amateur baseball win on Thursday.

Michael Schoettmer led the Angels with three hits, while Cole Wenande and Jerrod Zens both had two hits. Jacob Giles drove in three runs, while Tyson Gau, Erik DeJong, Jordan Gau and Peyton Smith added hits. Tyson Gau struck out nine batters and walked two batters on 91 pitches.

For Platte, Sheldon Gant and Mason Townsend had hits. Gant took the loss after allowing 13 hits, six earned runs, three walks and struck out three batters in his six-inning start. 


Dimock-Emery 7, Parkston Devil Rays 5

EMERY — Dimock-Emery edged the Parkston Devil Rays for a Sunshine League amateur baseball win on Thursday. 

Peyton Nash led the Raptors with three hits, while Parker Bollinger smacked a solo homer. 

Drew Kitchens, Sam Pischke, Josh Engquist and Gene Kitchens added hits. Engquist earned the win after seven strikeouts, three hits allowed, one earned run allowed and zero walks in five relief innings.

For the Devil Rays, Jake Helleloid belted a three-run homer. Jay Storm and Jonah Schmidt had two hits apiece. Schmidt drove in a run, while Brayden Jervik, Logan Heidinger, Max Scott and Austin Kerr had hits. Ty Neugebauer struck out 11 batters, allowed seven hits, three earned runs and seven walks in his 6.1-inning start to take the loss. 


Parkston Mudcats 13, Corsica-Stickney 2 (7 innings)

PARKSTON — Nate Doering struck out eight batters as the Parkston Mudcats picked up a Sunshine League amateur baseball win on Thursday.

Doering allowed four hits, two earned runs and one walk on 111 pitches. Offensively, Jeff Harris had two hits and drove in two runs. Braxton Wilhelm had two hits and drove in a run. Cole Knippling drove in four runs, while Ryan McGinnis knocked in two runs. Matt Malloy, Dan Bonte, Kaleb Weber and Luke Bormann each had hits. 

For Corsica-Stickney, Sean Pinkerton, Kris Menning, Jordan Dirkes and Gavin Zomer had hits. Blake Boke took the loss after allowing seven hits, nine earned runs, seven walks and had five strikeouts in his 4.1-inning start. 


Madison 5, Canova 4

MADISON — Madison used a five-run fifth inning to fuel a Cornbelt League amateur baseball win over Canova on Thursday.

Greg Biagi led Madison with two hits and smacked a three-run homer. Mitch McNary and Ty Jorgenson had hits. Brock Minnaert earned the win after allowing one hit, zero earned runs, one walk and struck out three batters in four relief innings.

For Canova, Jared Miller drove in two runs and Jack Neises had a hit. 


Colome 2, Kimball/White Lake 1

KIMBALL — Colome edged Kimball/White Lake for a Pony Hills League amateur baseball win on Thursday. 

Riley Orel had two hits, while Carter Brickman, Joey Cole, Hunter Van Nieuwenhuyse, Aaron Vomacka, Carter Dye and Cameron Biggins each had hits. Ethan Vobr earned the win after allowing seven hits, one earned run, two walks and struck out three batters in a complete-game performance.

For Kimball/White Lake, Jesse Kroupa had three hits and an RBI. Trent Wookey, Dylanger Pierson, Blake Leiferman and Dylan Konechne had hits.


Four Corners 11, Plankinton 8

PLANKINTON — Four Corners outlasted Plankinton in a Pony Hills League amateur baseball slugfest on Thursday. The teams combined for 19 runs and 31 hits. 

Sam Hand and Brad Hand had three hits apiece for Four Corners. Andrew Coverdale and Noah Hainy each drove in two runs. Josh Davies earned the win after allowing nine hits, three earned runs, two walks and had one strikeout in his four-inning start.

For Plankinton, Austin Hauge had three hits and drove in a run. Griffin Tobin, Cain Tobin, Hunter Pranger, Devin Mehlhaff and Drew Gerlach had two hits apiece. Stange took the loss after allowing 12 hits, seven earned runs and had two strikeouts in his five-inning start.


Lesterville 16, Wynot 15 (12 innings)

LESTERVILLE — Lesterville topped Wynot, Nebraska, in a South Central League amateur baseball marathon on Thursday. The teams combined for 31 runs and 45 hits.

Lesterville finished with 23 hits, while Wynot logged 22 hits. There were no errors committed in the marathon game. 

For Lesterville, Michael Drotzmann had three hits, drove in five runs and smacked two home runs. Ethan Wishon and Tanner VanDriel had four hits apiece. Andy Dollarschell, Tyler Edler, Trent Herrboldt and Derek Quame had multiple hits in the win.
