Kimball/White Lake Nationals 7, Wessington Springs Owls 0

KIMBALL — Kimball/White Lake improved to 10-1 in Pony Hills League action on Thursday.

Kimball/White Lake’s Mitchell Price struck out 12 batters, scattered six hits and walked one batter in 8.1 innings. 

KWL’s Dylanger Pierson finished 2-for-3, drove in five runs and hammered two home runs. Carter Lenz finished 2-for-4. Jaxon Christensen, Johnny Lyons, Hudson Heath, Caden Lenz and Jesse Kroupa all had hits. 

For Wessington Springs, Tyson Lien went 2-for-4. Dylan Schimke, Drew Olinger, Mason Schelske and Terrek Butterfield all had hits. Parker DeJean took the loss, allowing five hits, four earned runs, two walks and struck out seven batters in six innings.

 

Plankinton F&M Bankers 10, Winner Demons 6 (11 innings)

WINNER — Plankinton struck for four runs in the 11th inning to defeat Winner in an extra-inning Pony Hills League victory Thursday.

Thomas Stange tossed the first eight innings for the Bankers, allowing six runs on eight hits and four walks, striking out nine, before Kane Knudson closed out the final three innings, giving up just one hit  and one walk, striking out two.

Knudson drove in two runs on three hits, Teegan Schlimgen collected two hits, a double, a walk, and an RBI, Riley Schmeling drove in two runs on a hit, Blaine Bohr batted 2-for-6 with a walk and an RBI, while Hunter Pranger tallied two hits, including a double.

For Winner, Evan Farner and Ethan Bartels combined for the loss on the mound, issuing 10 runs on 11 hits and 10 walks, striking out 11 batters.

Pierce Nelson drove in a run on three hits and a walk, including two doubles, Jack Peters collected two hits, while Farner, Landon Calhoon, and Casey Heenan each tallied a hit and an RBI in the loss.

Mount Vernon Mustangs 9, Alexandria Angels 7

MOUNT VERNON — Cameron Deinert drove in six runs as Mount Vernon defeated Alexandria in Sunshine League action Thursday.

Deinert batted 3-for-3 with a walk and two homers driving in six runs for the Mustangs. Walker Hultgren collected two RBIs on one hit, Eric Giblin drove in a run on a solo homer, Chase Hetland and Deric Denning each tallied two hits. Bradley Dean tallied a double in the win as well.

Denning took the victory on the mound, allowing seven runs on eight hits and four walks, striking out eight batters in nine innings pitched.

For Alexandria, Jacob Giles took the loss in six innings, issuing eight runs on six hits and five walks, striking out three.

Cole Wenande drove in two runs on a homer, Jordan Gau collected three hits, including a double and a solo home run, Peyton Smith tallied two RBIs on one hit, while Michael Schoettmer and Landon Ruesink each drove in a run for Alexandria in the loss.


Wynot Expos (Neb.) 2, Menno Mad Frogs 1

MENNO — Landon Wieseler’s seven shutout innings helped Wynot defeat Menno in South Central League action Thursday night.

Wieseler allowed just one hit and three walks in seven innings, along with eight strikeouts. Jackson Sudbeck allowed one run on three hits over the final two innings to close out the victory for the Expos.

Nate Wieseler drove in a run on two hits for Wynot, Scott Morrison tallied two hits, while Lee Heimes, Jaelen Wieseler, and David Schenk each tallied hits in the victory.

For Menno, Jared Hegdahl took the loss despite a nine inning effort, allowing two runs on seven hits and four walks, striking out four.

Dylan Lehr led the offense with two hits, Spencer Schultz tallied a double, while Conner Merriam drove in a run on one hit for Menno in the loss.


Hartford/Humboldt Gamecocks 7, Colman Argali 6

HUMBOLDT — Hartford/Humboldt came back from a five-run deficit to defeat Colman in Cornbelt League action Thursday.

Joe Hanisch batted 2-for-2 with two RBIs, Broc Haldeman batted 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI, Ryan Healy drove in a run on two hits, Devon Garry batted 2-for-4 with a double and an RBi, Adam Hentges drove in two runs on a hit and a walk, while Briggs Havlik, Jonah Rechtenbaugh, Loren Jacobsen, and Chad Morrison each tallied hits in the win.

Nate Masloski took the victory in four shutout innings of relief, issuing three hits and a walk, striking out four.

For Colman, Carter Roach took the loss in 6.1 innings, allowing seven runs on 13 hits and three walks, striking out seven.

Ian Barker drove in four runs on a double and a homer, Chris Meyer drove in two runs on a hit and a walk, TJ Silliman collected two hits, while Chris Burke, Chase Dewitt, Paul Clarke, Roach, and Curt Hemmer each tallied hits in the loss.


Four Corners 4, Chamberlain Mallards 2

CHAMBERLAIN — Four Corners scored three runs in the top of the ninth to stun the Mallards in Pony Hills League action Thursday.

Andrew Coverdale led the 4C offense with two doubles and two RBIs, Justin Lester tallied two hits, Brad Hand and Noah Hainy tallied hits, while Jason Overweg drove in a run on a walk in the victory.

Jeremy Hand took the victory on the mound in three shutout innings, allowing one hit and two walks, striking out two batters.

Mike Schwartz took the loss in a complete game on the mound, allowing four runs on six hits and five walks, striking out six batters.

Schwartz and Dakota Munger each tallied two hits in four at-bats, including a double by Munger, Patrick Purdy and Braydon Kreofsky each tallied RBIs on a combined three walks, while Sandler Wiekamp and Ian Anderson each tallied hits in the loss.


Tabor Bluebirds 4, Freeman Blacksox 1

TABOR — Jared Miller and Chase Kortan limited Freeman to just two hits in a South Central League victory Thursday.

Miller issued one run on two hits and a walk in the first seven innings, striking out eight batters, before Kortan tossed two shutout innings allowing just a walk, striking out three to close out the victory.

Kortan led the Tabor offense in hits with three, including a double, Sam Caba drove in a run on two hits, including a double, Zach Sutera and Joey Slama each tallied hits, while Riley Rothschadl drove in a run on two walks for the Bluebirds.

For Freeman, S Gillespie took the loss in three innings pitched, allowing three runs on four hits and five walks, striking out four.

Jonah Hofer drove in the lone run on one hit for Freeman, while Jake Weier tallied a double and a walk in the loss.


Burke Bombers 11, Colome Chaos 1 (7 innings)

COLOME — Blake Boes and Hunter Van Niewenhuyse drove in a combined six runs during a Pony Hills League victory Thursday.

Boes batted 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs while Van Niewenhuyse batted 2-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs as well. JJ Beck drove in a run on three hits and a walk, Sawyer Tietgen, Cole Christopherson, and Aaron Sundquist each drove in a run on one hit, including a double by Christopherson, while Tommy Determan and Ben Witt each tallied two hits in the victory.

Beck, Coy Determan, and Christopherson combined for the victory on the mound for Burke, issuing one run on three hits, striking out a combined 12 batters.

For Colome, Jake Luse and Carter Brickman combined for the loss, allowing 11 runs on 16 hits and a walk, striking out eight.

Brickman, Ethan Vobr, and Luse each tallied hits while Cameron Biggins drove in a run for Colome in the loss.


Tea Steam 15, Lennox/Chancellor/Worthing Dirt Devils 4

CHANCELLOR — Tea collected 15 hits in a State Line League victory over Lennox/Chancellor/Worthing Thursday.

Isaac Toledo tallied three hits, a walk, and an RBI, Dawson Portner, Michael Buchmann, and Trevor Welch each tallied two hits, including a double and a homer by Portner, combining for two RBIs and four walks, Trey Heckenlaible, Ian Bennett, and Marcus Bolin each tallied a hit, combining for seven RBIs, while Logan Boom and Seth Altwine combined for three hits in the win as well.

Boom earned the victory on the mound for Tea, allowing two runs on three hits and four walks, striking out six.

For LCW, Ricky Thompkins took the loss in 4.1 innings, issuing seven runs on five hits and three walks, striking out two.

Wyatt Adams drove in two runs on a double and a walk, Levi Parker drove in a run on a walk and a double, while Justin Underwood, Bailey Ludens, Camden Berndt, and Brett Duncan each tallied hits in the loss.


Dell Rapids Mudcats 12, Madison Dairy Queen Broncos 1

MADISON — Kole Zimmerman hit two homers in a Cornbelt League victory over Madison Thursday.

Zimmerman batted 3-for-6 with two home runs driving in five runs for the Mudcats, Grant Olson tallied three hits, a double, and two RBIs, Mark Abrahamson tallied two hits, a walk, a double, and an RBI, Dalton Allen drove in a run on one hit and one walk, while Chad Hunt, Kris Regas, and Spencer Fruedenthal each tallied two hits in the win, including a double by Regas.

John Spaeth took the victory on the mound for the Mudcats, allowing one run on one hit and one walk in three innings, striking out three.

For Madison, Tyler Tappe took the loss issuing five runs on 12 hits and three walks, striking out seven.

Dawson Bakker led the offense with two hits, including a solo homer, while Ty Jorgenson, Mitch McNary, and Aspen Dahl each tallied hits, including a double by Jorgenson, in the loss.


Dell Rapids PBR 12, Hartford/Humboldt Wood Ducks 2 (8 innings)

DELL RAPIDS — Trey Randel’s 12 strikeouts helped Dell Rapids PBR defeat the Hartford/Humboldt Wood Ducks in Cornbelt League action Thursday.

Randel issued two runs on eight hits and three walks, striking out 12 in seven innings to earn the victory on the mound.

Nate McKee, Riley Hoffman, and Drew Sweeter each drove in two runs on two hits for PBR, Grant Sweeter and Matt Gillogly each drove in a run on one hit, while Zach Puetz tallied a hit in the victory as well.

For H/H, three pitchers combined for the loss on the mound, allowing 12 runs on nine hits and eight walks, striking out four batters.

Brayden Odegaard led the offense with three hits, Jacob Ellens drove in a run on two hits, Gage Nelson collected two hits, including a double, while Brodie Herr and Camden McDonald each tallied hits in the loss.


Flandreau Cardinals 14, Salem Cubs 1 (7 innings)

FLANDREAU — Flandreau pounded 16 hits during a Cornbelt League victory over the Salem Cubs Thursday night.

Keith Cutler and JaColby Anderson led the Cardinal offense, Cutler batted 3-for-3 with two RBIs while Anderson batted 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Luke Gassman drove in two runs on one hit, Brian McGuire drove in a run on three hits, including a double, Calvin Hegg drove in a run on one hit, Grant Hieb collected two hits, including a double, while Jacob Patterson, Bret Severtson, Tim Huber, and Austin Koenig each tallied hits in the win.

Zak Wallner earned the victory on the mound for the Cardinals, issuing one run on four hits in seven innings, striking out two batters.

For Salem, Isaac Anderson took the loss in 4.2 innings pitched, issuing 12 runs on 14 hits, striking out four.

Jon Forster collected two hits and an RBI, while Bobby Koepsell and Cole Cheeseman each tallied hits in the loss for the Cubs.


Akron Rebels (Iowa) 20, Parker Ringnecks 0 (5 innings)

AKRON — Akron drove in 18 runs on 20 hits and five walks in a State Line League victory over Parker Thursday.

Tanner Bundy drove in three runs on three hits, Jesse Heeren batted 4-for-4 with three RBIs, Derek Christoffel tallied two hits and two RBIs, including a double while Dan Smith and Jared Kirkeby each drove in a run on one hit, including a double by Kirkeby.

For Parker, Austin Clarke took the loss allowing 20 runs on 20 hits and five walks in four innings.

Ashton Ross tallied two hits while Jevin Erickson, Mason Schaefer, Clarke, Garrett Rang, and Myron Blocksome each tallied hits in the loss.


Larchwood Diamonds (Iowa) 15, Parkston Mudcats 1 (7 innings)

LARCHWOOD — Josh Vanbeek struckout 13 Mudcat batters in a non-league amateur baseball victory Thursday.

Vanbeek tossed all seven innings for Larchwood, issuing one run on two hits and six walks, striking out 13 to earn the victory on the mound.

Trevor Reinke drove in three runs on a double and three walks, Cody Groskruetz collected two hits, a double, and two RBIs, Micah Linn drove in two runs on a homer and a walk, while Chase Vanderfeen tallied two RBIs on a walk and sac-fly.

For Parkston, Will Jodozi took the loss in 3.1 innings, allowing eight runs on three hits and seven walks, striking out two.

Jake Goble and Jake Weber each tallied hits, while Maddox Brissette drove in a run on a walk in the loss.
