Chamberlain 16, Winner/Colome 4 (5 innings)

CHAMBERLAIN — Chamberlain drove in 13 runs on 11 hits and eight walks to earn a Legion baseball victory over Winner/Colome Monday night.

Cooper Leiferman batted 3-for-4 with two RBIs, Graden Holan batted 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, Dakota Munger batted 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI, Sawyer Donovan drove in three runs on a double and a walk, Conway Collins drove in a run on a hit and a walk, while Rayden Haak, Sandler Wiekamp, and Brayden Oldenkamp each drove in a run in the victory.

Wiekamp earned the victory on the mound for Chamberlain, issuing four runs on three hits and four walks, striking out three.

For W/C, Dylan Brandis took the loss issuing eight runs on two hits and five walks.

Brandis, Ryder Halligan, and Zachary Olson each drove in a run for Winner/Colome, while Rocky Wiedman tallied a hit in the loss.


Groton 5, Aberdeen Smittys 3 (11 innings)

ABERDEEN — Groton scored three runs in the 11th inning to defeat Aberdeen in Legion baseball thriller Monday.

Bradin Althoff, Colby Dunker, Gavin Englund, and Braxton Imrie paced the Groton offense with two hits apiece, driving in three combined runs. Karson Fliehs drove in a run on one hit and two walks in the win as well.

Dillon Abeln earned the victory on the mound in two innings of relief, allowing one run on two hits, striking out three batters. Englund tossed the first nine innings for Groton, allowing six hits, three walks, and just two runs.

For Aberdeen, Jared Klootwyk took the loss in 5.1 innings pitched, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk.

Casey Vining, Drew Salfrank, and Phillip Zens each drove in a run on one hit in the loss.


Lennox 4, Vermillion 3 (10 innings)

LENNOX — Ethan Larson’s walk-off single lifted Lennox past Vermillion in Legion baseball action Monday night.

Lasen tallied three hits in the victory, Dayne Moeller tallied two hits in four at-bats, driving in two runs, while Talen Eich drove in a run on a double. Jaxon Bittner and Mason Reischl each tallied hits in the win as well.

Emery Lefers earned the victory on the mound, issuing three hits, three walks, and one run in four innings pitched, striking out four batters.

For Vermillion, Connor Peterson took the loss in 3.1 innings, giving up three hits, three walks, and two runs.

Hayden Christopherson drove in a run on two hits, including a double, while Peterson tallied two hits. Trey Hansen and Jack Moskowitz each tallied hits in the loss.


Yankton 4, Brandon Valley 2

BRANDON — Easton Feser drove in two runs in a Legion baseball victory over Brandon Valley Monday.

Feser batted 2-for-4 driving in two runs, Tate Beste drove in one run on one hit, Evan Serck tallied two hits, while Lucas Kampshoff and Owen Wishon each tallied hits in the win.

Mark Kathol earned the victory on the mound for Yankton, allowing three hits, five walks, and one run in 5.2 innings, striking out three.

For Brandon Valley, Aiden Zerr took the loss in 4.1 innings, allowing four runs on five hits and one walk, striking out five.

Zerr batted 2-for-4 to lead BV in hits, while Brayden Knutson drove in a run in the loss.


Yankton 6, Brandon Valley 2

BRANDON — Yankton scored four unanswered runs to pull away from Brandon Valley for Legion baseball victory Monday.

Samuel Gokie drove in two runs on one hit and two walks, Lucas Kampshoff collected three hits, including two doubles, Easton Feser drove in two runs on a walk and a sac-fly, while Austin Gobel and Gavin Johnson each tallied hits in the win.

Owen Wishon earned the victory on the mound, allowing five hits, four walks, and two runs in four innings, striking out eight batters.

For Brandon Valley, Carter LaBrie took the loss in 4.1 innings, allowing three runs on two hits and six walks, striking out six.

Chase Leary drove in a run on two hits, Jackson Adams drove in a run, while Brayden Knutson, Ryland Carroll, and Drake Jellema each tallied hits in the loss.


Harrisburg Gold 7, Huron 0

HURON — Braxton Kusler tossed 13 strikeouts as Harrisburg defeated Huron in Legion baseball action Monday.

Kusler tossed seven shutout innings, allowing just one hit while striking out 13 batters to earn the victory on the mound for Harrisburg.

Maddux Scherer drove in two runs on two hits for Harrisburg, Noah Boschee drove in two runs on one hit, Coen Cook added a hit and an RBI, while Jack Riley and Carter Gronseth each tallied hits in the win.

For Huron, Layne Wenzel took the loss in 4.1 innings, allowing six runs, four hits, and three walks, striking out two.

Wenzel tallied the only hit of the game for Huron.


Harrisburg Gold 11, Huron 1 (6 innings)

HURON — Harrisburg drove in 10 runs on nine hits and six walks as it defeated Huron in Legion baseball action Monday night.

Palmer Boyd, Max Carlson, and Sam Sutton each drove in two runs on one hit, including a double by Carlson. Maddux Scherer drove in a run on three hits, a walk and two doubles, Teigan Munce drove in a run on a double, Tate Larson drove in a run on a walk, while Noah Boschee drove in a run in the win as well.

Maddox Plack took the victory in six innings pitched, allowing two hits, one walk, and one run, striking out six.

For Huron, Jackson Mattke took the loss allowing seven runs on seven hits and two walks in 3.2 innings pitched.

Bubba Peterson and Mattke each tallied hits, including a double by Peterson and an RBI by Mattke, in the loss.


Watertown 7, Milbank 0

WATERTOWN — Talan Jurgens 12 strikeouts helped Watertown defeat Milbank in Legion baseball action Monday evening.

Jurgens allowed just five hits and two walks in seven innings of work, striking out 12 batters to earn the victory on the mound.

Mitch Olson paced the Watertown offense driving in one run on three hits, including a double, Nathan Briggs and Treyton Himmerich each drove in a run on a double, Kaden Rylance drove in a run on one hit, while Hayden Ries tallied two hits in the win.

For Milbank, Joe Schulte took the loss in six innings pitched, allowing 10 hits, two walks, and seven runs.

Schulte tallied two hits in the loss, while Mason Miester, Tanner Hallquist, and Dillen Scheeley each tallied hits as well.


Watertown 12, Milbank 2 (5 innings)

WATERTOWN — Johnathan Lake and Dylon Rawdon drove in a combined six runs as Watertown defeated Milbank in Legion baseball action Monday.

Lake batted 1-for-3 with a walk, double, and three RBIs, while Rawdon drove in three runs on a double to pace the Watertown offense. Markus Pitkin batted 2-for-3 with two RBIs, Nash Berg drove in a run on two hits, while Mitch Olson drove in a run on one hit and a walk as well.

Treyton Himmerich and Will Engstrom each tallied an RBI in the win as well.

Max Dylla earned the victory in four innings pitched, allowing three hits, six walks, and two runs, striking out five.

For Milbank, Jace Jonasen took the loss in 3.2 innings pitched, issuing 12 runs on seven hits and four walks.

Daniel Shelstad drove in a run on one hit, Joe Schulte drove in a run, while Josh Pederson and Dillen Scheeley each tallied hits in the loss.


Faulkton/Highmore 17, Mobridge 1 (3 innings)

MOBRIDGE — Faulkton took advantage of nine errors to defeat Mobridge in Legion baseball Monday night.

Blaze Herdman drove in three runs on one hit and a walk, Carson Stephenson drove in two runs on a hit and two walks, Layne Cotton drove in two runs on two hits, including a double, and Jett Kliensasser tallied two hits and an RBI as well.

Nolan Adams, Korbin Stark, and Gavin Hannan each drove in a run on a combined three walks.

Cade Schick earned the victory on the mound, allowing three hits in two shutout innings, striking out three batters.

For Mobridge, Mack Saxon took the loss in 1.1 innings, issuing nine runs on three hits and six walks.

Trueth Crow Ghost drove in the lone run on two hits, including a double, while Gavin Farlee and Taylon Carmody each tallied hits in the loss.


Clark/Willow Lake 15, Webster 8 (5 innings)

WEBSTER — Clark/Willow Lake pounded 15 hits in a Legion baseball victory over Webster Monday night.

Josh Kannegieter drove in three runs on two hits and a walk, Waylan Olson drove in three runs on two hits, Cooper Pommer cracked three hits in four at-bats, Jack Helkenn, Conner Mudgett, and Tyson Huber each drove in one run on one hit, including a double by Mudgett and a triple by Huber, while Ky Vandersnick and Jakob Steen each tallied two hits in the win.

Kannegieter earned the victory on the mound, allowing one run on one hit and a walk in one inning, striking out one.

For Webster, Blaze Amdahl took the loss in four innings pitched, giving up 14 runs on 14 hits and two walks.

Matthew Mount drove in two runs on two hits, including a double, Ian Lesnar drove in two runs on a hit and a walk, Sheldon Schmig batted 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI, while Devin Snaza drove in a run on two hits in the loss as well.


Clark/Willow Lake 12, Webster 1 (5 innings)

WEBSTER — Tyson Huber’s three RBIs and eight strikeouts on the mound helped Clark/Willow Lake defeat Webster in Legion baseball action Monday.

Huber drove in three runs on a double, while tossing four innings, allowing two hits, a walk, and  one run, striking out eight batters to earn the victory on the mound.

Max Bratland and Ernesto Garcia each drove in a run on one hit, including a double by Garcia, Jakob Steen tallied two hits, while Cooper Pommer and Jack Helkenn each tallied hits in the win.

For Webster, Carter Williams took the loss in 2.2 innings pitched, surrendering nine runs on four hits and five walks.

Ian Lesnar and Zayden Finch each tallied hits in the loss.


Elk Point/Jefferson 7, Dakota Valley 6

ELK POINT — Elk Point/Jefferson’s two-run sixth-inning helped stun Dakota Valley in Legion baseball action Monday evening.

Brody Van Roekel and Jace Shatswell each drove in two runs on two hits, Evan Hailey batted 1-for-2 with a walk and two RBIs, Keaton Gale drove in a run on two hits, while Kayden Moore tallied two hits in the win as well.

Gale earned the victory on the mound for EPJ, issuing one hit and one walk in one inning, striking out all three outs.

For Dakota Valley, Grady Ramos took the loss in three innings pitched, allowing three runs, five hits, and a walk in three innings, striking out four batters.

Jackson Boonstra and Grant Van Den Hul each tallied three hits in the loss, including a double by Boonstra, Drew Lukken drove in three runs on one hit, while Brendan Barnett, Jack Wiese, and Noah Hede each drove in a run on four combined hits, including a double by Wiese.

 

 

Dakota Valley 4, Elk Point/Jefferson 2

ELK POINT — Dakota Valley’s two-run fourth-inning was the difference as it defeated Elk Point/Jefferson in Legion baseball action Monday night.

Jack Wiese led the offense with two hits and an RBI, Noah Graham drove in a run on a sac-fly, while Jackson Boonstra, Brendan Barnett, and Jake Carter each tallied hits in the win.

Garrett Anderson earned the victory on the mound for Dakota Valley, allowing one walk in two shutout innings.

For EPJ, Wyatt Herrity took the loss in four innings pitched, allowing two hits, five walks, and three runs, striking out three.

Ty Trometer drove in a run for EPJ, while Ethan Bovill, Grayson Girard, and Levi Hanson each tallied hits in the loss.


Dell Rapids 11, Madison 1 (6 innings)

DELL RAPIDS — Talan Millage drove in three runs in a Legion baseball victory over Madison Monday evening.

Millage batted 2-for-3 with a walk and three RBIs, CJ Smith drove in two runs on two hits, Treyse Eastman drove in a run on one hit, Drake Eastman and Sutton Williams each tallied two hits, while Cooper Frost and Brandon Schmidt each drove in a run in the win as well.

Lincoln Fersdahl earned the victory on the mound for Dell Rapids, allowing one run on two hits and a walk in 5.2 innings.

For Madison, Ben Brooks took the loss in 4.1 innings, allowing nine runs on nine hits and two walks.

Thomas Mechels and Casyn Crabtree tallied the only hits of the game for Madison.


Belle Fourche 13, Gillette (Wyo.) 4

BELLE FOURCHE — Aiden Voyles 10 strikeouts helped Belle Fourche defeat Gillette in Legion baseball action Monday night.

Voyles allowed four runs on six hits and a walk in 6.1 innings pitched, striking out 10 batters to earn the victory on the mound.

Nolan Wahlfeldt batted 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, Gavin Pearson batted 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Jordan Sandoval drove in two runs on one hit and two walks, Harvey Walding drove in a run on two hits and walk, while Voyles, Caden Thomsen, and Raif Parmeter each tallied hits in the win.

For Gillette, Jaycob Clifford took the loss in 1.1 innings pitched, allowing seven hits, three walks, and nine runs.

Connor Ellis drove in two runs on one hit, while Nate Clifford drove in a run in the loss as well.


Volga`15, Castlewood 6

VOLGA — Ethan Axtell drove in five runs during Volga’s Legion baseball victory over Castlewood Monday night.

Axtell batted a perfect 3-for-3, including a double and triple, scoring five runs to pace the Volga offense. Christopher Moberg drove in two runs on three hits and a walk, Braden Danzeisen drove in two runs on a hit and a walk, Tate Steffensen drove in a run on two hits, while Jack Opitz and Jace Christensen each drove in a run in the victory.

Four pitchers contributed in the win for Volga, combining to allow six runs on six hits and four walks, including seven strikeouts.

For Castlewood, Watson Grantham saw the most time on the mound, throwing three innings, allowing five runs on seven hits and three walks, striking out five batters.

Riggs Prouty drove in two runs on one hit, Jarin Eidson tallied one hit and an RBI, while Ted Smith tallied two hits in the loss.
