Platte/Geddes WhiteCaps 6, Mount Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica-Stickney Padres 2

PLATTE — The Platte/Geddes WhiteCaps scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to pull away from the Mount Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica-Stickney Padres for a Legion baseball win on Friday.

Dakota Munger picked up the win for Platte/Geddes, allowing one run on three hits in four innings, while striking out seven and walking one. Aiden Bultje started for Platte/Geddes, pitching three innings, allowing four hits and one run and striking out three, while walking one.

Munger led Platte/Geddes with three hits in four at bats and one RBI, while Dawson Hoffman had one hit and two RBI. Grayson Hanson and Joey Foxley each had one RBI.

Hayden Plamp took the loss for the Padres, allowing nine hits and five runs, while striking out five in 4 ⅓ innings.

Brendan Wentland and Mason Hetland each had two hits to lead the Padres, while Hetland also had two RBI.

Gregory County 8, Lennox Post 174 2

CLARK — Gregory County earned a Legion baseball win over Lennox Post 174 on Friday.

Ben Witt took the win for Gregory County, allowing zero runs on one hit in ⅔ of an inning. Bryce Frank started the game for Gregory County, allowing one hit and one run, while striking out two and walking one in 2 ⅔ innings.

Witt and Gunnar Stephens each had two hits. Carsen Klundt and Brogan Glover each had one hit and one run.

Conner Eich led Lennox Post 174 on the mound, allowing six runs on seven hits in five innings, while striking out two and walking one.

Eich, Braeden Wulf, and Lance Spieler each had one hit to lead Lennox Post 174. 


Post 70 Flandreau 14, Menno/Scotland Post 152 Trappers 2

MENNO — Post 70 Flandreau powered past the Menno/Scotland Post 152 Trappers for a Legion baseball win on Friday.

Maddox Biever led Post 70 Flandreau at the plate, tallying three hits and five RBI. Tash Lunday also had three hits, while driving in three runs. Kelly Lewis, Tristan Peters, and Kolby Peters each added two hits.

Jacob Schott took the loss for Menno/Scotland, allowing 10 hits and 10 runs in 5 ⅓ innings, while striking out six.

Schott and Kadeyn Ulmer each had one hit, while Ulmer and Austin Pillsbury each drove in one run.


Madison Post 25 15, Colton Post 206 0

MADISON — Madison Post 25 raced past Colton Post 206 for a Legion baseball win on Friday.

Mickale Dohrer led Madison Post 25 on the mound, allowing zero runs on two hits and striking out seven in four innings.

Trey Smith led Madison Post 25 with two hits in three at bats and two RBI. Nathan Ricke also had two RBI, while Mike Peters had three stolen bases.

Aiden Heitkamp took the loss for Colton Post 206, allowing five hits and six runs in 1 ⅓ innings, while striking out one.

Heitkamp and Zach Powell each had one hit to lead Colton Post 206.


Mitchell Post 18 11, Coon Rapids Post 334 (Minn.) 2 

MINNEAPOLIS — Jonah Schmidt powered Mitchell Post 8 to a Legion baseball win over Coon Rapids Post 334 (Minn.) at the Gopher Classic on Friday.

Schmidt finished with three hits and six RBIs, including a three-run homer in the fifth inning. Jake Helleloid added two hits and two RBIs, while Seth Muth, Dylan Soulek, Lukas Bennett and Hudson Haley each had a hit. Helleloid and Haley each drove in two runs. Jace Larson allowed four hits, two earned runs, walked four and struck out two batters in five innings. 


Creighton Prep Five Points Bank (Neb.) 4, Mitchell Post 18 1

MINNEAPOLIS — Mitchell Post 18 dropped a three-run decision against Creighton Prep Five Points Bank at Friday’s Gopher Classic. 

Seth Muth and Dylan Soulek recorded two hits apiece. Jonah Schmidt, Jace Larson and Joe VanOverschelde each had a hit. Jake Helleloid scattered five hits, allowed four runs (one earned), walked one batter and struck out five in his 5.2-inning start.  


Rosetown Post 542 (Minn.) 6, Pierre Post 8 5 (8 innings)

MINNEAPOLIS — Tomas Nelson hit a walk-off RBI single to lift Rosetown (Minn.) to a Legion baseball win over Pierre Post 8 at the Gopher Classic on Friday. 

Pierre’s Lincoln Kienholz recorded three hits, including a double and a triple. Matthew Hanson and Jonny Lyons each had two hits. Jayden Wiebe, Bennett Dean, Gary Nedved and Jack Merkwan each had a hit. Lyons drove in two runs. Jett Zabel struck out six batters, allowed five hits, five runs (three earned) and walked four batters in his five-inning start. Lyons took the loss after allowing three hits, one earned run and walked three batters in 2.1 relief innings. 


Elk River Post 112 (Minn.) 13, Pierre Post 8 3 (6 innings) 

MINNEAPOLIS — Elk River plated six runs in the sixth inning to put away Pierre Post 8 in Legion baseball action at the Gopher Classic on Friday. 

Jayden Wiebe led Pierre with two hits and one RBI. Lincoln Kienholz, Gary Nedved, George Stalley, Jett Zabel and Brecken Krueger each had a hit. Bennett Dean allowed four hits, seven runs (five earned), walked seven and struck out three through 4.1 innings in the loss.


Sioux Falls Post 15 6, Bloomington Post 550 (Minn.) 0

MINNEAPOLIS —  Myles Rees struck out nine batters in a two-hit shutout to lift Sioux Falls Post 15 to a Legion baseball win over Bloomington Post 550 at the Gopher Classic on Friday. 

Reese walked two batters on 91 pitches and added a hit on offense. Cael Swanson, Jack Smith, Tate Schafer, Mason Tolrud and Jack Nesje each had a hit. Tolrud knocked in three runs, while Nesje added two RBIs. 


Sioux Falls Post 15 4, Rosemount Post 65 (Minn.) 3

MINNEAPOLIS — Sioux Falls Post 15 plated four runs in the fourth inning to secure a Legion baseball win over Rosemount Post 65 at the Gopher Classic on Friday. 

Myles Rees finished 2 of 3, while Ethan Bruns, Jackson Boe, Sawyer Tolk, Mason Tolrud, Lincoln Vasgaard and Dylan Rippentrop each had a hit. Tolk, Tolrud, Rippentrop and Tristan Fitzsimmons each drove in a run. Tate Schafer allowed three hits, three runs (one earned), walked three and struck out three in his complete-game victory. 


Mankato Post 11 (Minn.) 3, Brandon Valley Post 131 1 

MINNEAPOLIS — Nicholas Werk struck out nine Brandon Valley batters to lift Mankato Post 11 to a Legion baseball win at the Gopher Classic on Friday. 

Werk allowed six hits, one earned run and walked one batter. 

Ayden Spicer, Logan Kelling, Matt Brown, Daniel Butyen, Tayton Stroh and Dawson Skorczewski each had a hit. Austin Reiter drove in the lone run. 


Brandon Valley Post 131 5, LeSueur Henderson (Minn.) 4

MINNEAPOLIS — Tayton Stroh drew a walk-off bases-loaded walk to propel Brandon Valley to a Legion baseball win over LeSueur Henderson at the Gopher Classic on Friday. 

Stroh also smacked a two-run home run, while Logan Kelling and Austin Reiter each had a hit. Sam Sejnoha struck out two batters, allowed one hit, zero runs and walked three batters in 4.1 relief innings to earn the win. 


Yankton Post 12 6, Forest Lake 225 (Minn.) 5

MINNEAPOLIS — Yankton Post 12 scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to secure a Legion baseball win over Forest Lake (Minn.) at the Gopher Classic on Friday. 

Rugby Ryken led Yankton with three hits and one RBI. Drew Ryken and Joe Gokie each had two hits, while Gokie drove in a run. Lucas Kampshoff, Cody Oswald and Cooper Grotenhuis each had hits. Samuel Kampshoff started for Yankton, allowing six hits, five runs (three earned), walked six batters and struck out three batters in 5.2 innings. 


Yankton Post 12 10, Mankato National (Minn.) 9

MINNEAPOLIS — Yankton Post 12 held off Mankato National (Minn.) for a Legion baseball win at the Gopher Classic on Friday.

Drew Ryken took the win on the hill for Yankton Post 12, allowing ten hits and eight runs, while striking out three.

Joe Gokie led Post 12 with three hits in four at bats and three RBI. Mac Ryken, Cody Oswald, and Landen Loecker each tallied two hits. Loecker and Dylan Prouty each had two RBI. Mac Ryken and Oswald each had one RBI.


Orono Maple Plain (Minn.) 5, Rapid City Post 315 4

VICTORIA, Minn. — Orono Maple Plain (Minn.) drove in one run in the bottom of the seventh inning to edge Rapid City Post 315 for a Legion baseball win at the Gopher Classic on Friday.

Kyle Schlueter led Rapid City Post 315 on the mound, giving up four runs on four hits in six innings, while striking out six.

Cooper Morlang and Brady Bickett each had two hits to lead Rapid City Post 315. Bickett also drove in two runs.


Wolfe Electric Wildcats (Neb.) 11, Post 74 Bandits 3

ANOKA, Minn. — The Post 74 Bandits dropped a Legion baseball game against the Wolfe Electric Wildcats at the Gopher Classic on Friday.

Breck Hirrschoff took the loss for the Post 74 Bandits, pitching three innings and allowing seven hits and six runs.

Henry Hammrich, Jake Ammann, and Nathan Lease each had one hit to lead the Post 74 Bandits. Ammann and Lease each drove in one run.


Burnsville Cobras (Minn.) 5, Watertown Post 17 4

VICTORIA, Minn. — Watertown Post 17 dropped a Legion baseball game against the Burnsville Cobras (Minn.) at the Gopher Classic on Friday.

Andrew Czech was on the hill for Watertown Post 17, allowing eight hits and five runs in six innings, while striking out five.

Carson Mutschler, Ben Althoff, and Jerod Cyrus each had one hit to lead Watertown Post 17. Cyrus had two RBI and one home run, while Althoff and Kolby Lacher each had one RBI.


Watertown Post 17 2, Wayzata Post 118 (Minn.) 1

VICTORIA, Minn. — Watertown Post 17 earned a Legion baseball win over Wayzata Post 118 (Minn.) at the Gopher Classic on Friday.

Jerod Cyrus took the win for Watertown Post 17, giving up one run on two hits in seven innings, while striking out five.

Jack Heesch led Watertown Post 17 with two hits in three at bats, while Ben Althoff and Braedon Zaug each had one hit. Kolby Lacher drove in two runs.


Eastview Lightning (Minn.) 12, Renner Royals Post 307 4

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — The Renner Royals dropped a Legion baseball game against the Eastview Lightning (Minn.) at the Gopher Classic on Friday.

Preston Konechne led the Renner Royals on the mound, pitching four innings while allowing seven hits and seven runs and striking out one.

Quinn Dunham led the Renner Royals with three hits and two RBI. Leo Hueners and Kyle Konechne each had two hits. Keegan Wenande also had two RBI. 


Renner Royals Post 307 2, Osseo Post 172 (Minn.) 1

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Renner Royals Post 307 edged Osseo Post 172 (Minn.) in a Legion baseball game at the Gopher Classic on Friday.

Sam Hermsen gave up one run on two hits in seven innings, while striking out four to lead the Renner Royals.

Kyle Konechne, Quinn Dunham, Leo Hueners, Tristin Van Wassenhove, and Carter Peterson each tallied one hit to lead the Renner Royals. Konechne and Emanuel Struck each drove in one run.


Prior Lake (Minn.) 1, Rapid City Post 320 Stars 0

PRIOR LAKE, Minn. — The Rapid City Post 320 Stars dropped a Legion baseball game against Prior Lake (Minn.) at the Gopher Classic on Friday.

Jett Wetzler led the Post 320 Stars on the hill, allowing six hits and one run in six innings, while striking out five.

Gavyn Dansby, Jace Wetzler, Isaac Dike, Walker Vliestra, and Ryan Rufledt each had one hit to lead the Post 320 Stars.
