Lennox 8, Mount Vernon 3

PARKSTON — Lennox recorded 12 hits en route to an amateur baseball win over Mount Vernon at Saturday’s Sunshine League vs. Cornbelt League Showdown.

Lennox scored seven runs in the fourth inning, including a three-run homer by Josh Addington. Marcus Van Driel finished with three hits and one RBI. Walker Hultgren and Josh Van Beck had two hits apiece. Carver Hultgren earned the win after striking out seven batters, allowing eight hits, three earned runs and two walks on 95 pitches. 

For Mount Vernon, Spencer Neugebauer recorded three hits. Briggs Havlik, Chase Hetland, Koby Larson, Deric Denning and Mason Hetland each had hits. Denning drove in two runs. Kade Bialas took the loss after allowing nine hits, seven earned runs, two walks and striking out five batters in his four-inning start. 


Lennox 16, Parkston Devil Rays 13

PARKSTON — Lennox plated 11 runs in the first inning and five more in the final two innings to hold off the Parkston Devil Rays at Saturday’s Sunshine League vs. Cornbelt League Showdown.

Walker Hultgren went 3 of 4 and drove in four runs, including a two-run homer in the first inning. Josh Addington drove in three runs, while Marcus VanDriel and Chris Kropuenske had two hits apiece. J.D. Kirchner earned the win after striking out six batters, allowing three hits and one earned run in three relief innings. 

For the Devil Rays, Seth Muth finished with three hits and drove in four runs. T.J. Schmidt had three hits and three RBI, while Jay Storm also had three hits. Jonah Schmidt and Landon Sudbeck had two hits apiece, with Schmidt driving in a run. Schmidt took the loss after allowing two hits, four earned runs, three walks and striking out three batters in 2.2 relief innings.


Garretson 7, Baltic 2 

GARRETSON — Garretson used a six-run fifth inning to pick up an amateur baseball win over Baltic on Saturday. 

Nick Bonte led Garretson with three hits and two RBI. Dustin Steckler and Brady Bonte had two hits apiece, while Bonte drove in two runs. Cole Koch earned the win after 14 strikeouts, seven hits allowed, two earned runs and five walks through eight innings. 

For Baltic, Matt White went 2 of 4 and drove in a run. Starter Dalton Garbers lasted five innings, allowed six runs on eight hits and struck out two batters.
