Winner/Colome Pheasants 13, Alexandria Angels 1 (7 innings)

WINNER — The Pheasants racked up 16 hits in a Sunshine League mercy-rule victory over Alexandria Sunday afternoon.

Chandler Bakley paced the W/C offense with three hits, including a triple and a home run, driving in five runs. Reed Harter batted 3-for-5 with two RBIs, Austin Richey tallied two hits and two RBIs, and Trevor Salmonsen added two hits and two RBIs as well.

Derek Graesser batted 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI, Austin Calhoon added a double, a walk, and an RBI, while Oscar Pravacek and Drew DeMers each tallied two hits in the win.

Graesser earned the victory on the mound in a complete game outing, allowing four hits, two walks, and one run while striking out 12.

For Alexandria, Hunter Robinson took the loss in four innings, allowing 13 hits, five walks, and 13 runs.

Cole Wenande drove in the lone run for the Angels, while Jordan Gau, Peyton Smith, and Tucker Kingsbury each tallied hits in the loss.


Redfield DQ 7, Northville Merchants 4 (10 innings)

NORTHVILLE — Redfield scored four unanswered runs as they defeated Northville in Northern Plains League action Sunday night.

Leading the charge was Bennett Osborn, batting 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, and two RBIs, while throwing 4.2 shutout innings of relief, allowing just two hits and two walks, striking out four batters to earn the victory on the mound.

Peyton Osborn, Camden Osborn, and Owen Osborn each drove in one run apiece, while Cooper Hainy, Keaton Rohlfs, Brent Osborn, and Nolan Gall each tallied hits in the win.

For Northville, Niko Pezonella took the loss despite a 10 inning, 190 pitch outing. Pezonella allowed nine hits, seven walks, and seven runs, striking out 12 batters, while batting 2-for-6 with an RBI at the plate.

Max Waltman drove in a run on one hit, Carson Simes drove in a run on four walks, Jeremiah Maxfield tallied one hit and three walks, Greg Heyne drew three walks, and Ben Fischbach tallied a hit in the loss as well. 


Winner Demons 2, Burke Bombers 1

BURKE — Evan Farner’s complete-game outing limited Burke to just one run as Winner earned a Pony Hills League victory Sunday night.

Farner allowed nine hits, five walks, and one run in 147 pitches, while striking out 10 to earn the victory on the mound.

At the plate, Kayleb Brozik led the offense with three hits, while Farner drove in a run on two hits, including a double. Pierce Nelson, Ashton Klein, and Cole Heenan each tallied hits in the win as well.

For Burke, JJ Beck took the loss in just 0.2 innings pitched, allowing three walks and a run. Aaron Sundquist saw the most time on the mound, allowing seven hits, three walks and a run in seven innings, striking out 10 batters.

Sawyer Tietgen led the Burke offense with three hits, while Rylan Peck and Hunter Van Niewenhuyse each tallied two hits, including an RBI by Van Niewenhuyse. JJ Beck tallied a double, while Tommy Determan recorded one hit in the loss as well.


Salem Cubs 6, Dell Rapids PBR 4 (7 innings)

MADISON — Salem scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to defeat Dell Rapids PBR in CornBelt League action Sunday afternoon.

Jacob Vonberge drove in two runs on a homer to pace the Cub offense, while Kyle Tuschen, Luke Loudenburg, Tyler Cleveland, and Tyler Earls each drove in one run on one hit.

Bobby Koepsell, Hakeem Yatim, and Cole Cheeseman each tallied hits in the win.

Earls earned the victory on the mound, allowing five hits, one walk, and four runs in seven innings while striking out four.

For PBR, Drew Sweeter took the loss, allowing one hit, one walk, and two runs in his relief outing.

Riley Hoffman batted 2-for-3, while Nate McKee and Will Jaton each drove in a run on one hit. Sweeter and Beau Behrend each drove in a run, while Weston Hansen tallied a hit in the loss as well.


Dell Rapids PBR 9, Salem Cubs 0 (7 innings)

MADISON — Despite getting out-hit by Salem, 8-6, Dell Rapids PBR earned a shutout victory in Game 2 of Sunday’s Cornbelt League doubleheader.

Zach Puetz paced the Dell Rapids offense driving in three runs on two hits, Beau Behrend drove in two runs on a walk, Will Jaton batted 1-for-3 with a walk, double, and an RBI, while Nate McKee tallied one hit and one walk in the win as well. Riley Hoffman, Weston Hansen, and Grant Sweeter were patient at the plate, drawing a combined seven walks.

Drew Sweeter earned the victory throwing seven shutout innings, allowing eight hits and two walks while striking out four.

For Salem, Brayden Kerkhove took the loss allowing two hits, six walks, and five runs in one inning.

Hakeem Yatim and Jacob Vonberge each tallied two hits in the loss, while Tyler Cleveland, Bobby Koepsell, Kyle Tuschen, and Avery Feterl each tallied hits.as well.


Milbank Firechiefs 4, Elkton Snappers 3

ELKTON — Despite having bases loaded with no outs in the ninth inning, Elkton couldn’t plate a run as Milbank held on for an Eastern Dakota League victory Sunday night.

Dom Boerger earned the victory for Milbank in 1.2 innings of relief, allowing just one hit and one walk while striking out two.

Taylor Boerger drove in two runs on one hit, Brady Krause drove in one run on two hits, Mitch Quade and Merik Junker tallied two hits, while Dom Boerger and Kellen Hoeke each tallied hits in the win.

For Elkton, Aidan Stewart took the loss despite a seven-inning effort, allowing nine hits, six walks, and four runs while striking out six.

Dylan Gillespie and Kellan Sattler each drove in one run on one hit, including a double by Gillespie, while Stewart, Charles Harming, and Dave Bierman each tallied hits in the loss.


Corsica Horned Frogs 12, Parkston Devil Rays 8

CORSICA — Aaron Groeneweg drove in five runs as Corsica defeated the Parkston Devil Rays in Sunshine League action Sunday night.

Groeneweg batted 2-for-5 with a walk and a two-run homer in the sixth inning. Caleb Crist drove in two runs on a double and a walk, while Brady Cristoffels, Brendan Wentland, and Kiefer Johnson each drove in a run on one hit. Luke Bamberg and Blake Moke combined for three hits in the win as well.

Crist earned the victory on the mound allowing seven hits, three walks, and five runs in six innings while striking out eight batters.

For Parkston, Ty Neugebauer batted 2-for-5 with a double and three RBIs, Jake Helleloid drove in two runs on two hits, including a double, while Logan Heidinger added three hits and an RBI.

Caleb Titze added two hits, while Dylan Soulek, Carter Sommer, and Max Scott each tallied hits in the loss.

Neugebauer took the loss in six innings, allowing eight hits, six walks, and nine runs, fanning six batters.

 

Lake Norden Lakers 10, Clark Traders 7

LAKE NORDEN — Five Lake Norden batters recorded multi-hit games as the Lakers defeated Clark in Eastern Dakota League action Sunday night.

Cameron Thue batted 3-for-3 with a walk and an RBI, Mick Tulson went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, Kevin Krumm went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Mitchell Noem tallied two hits and walk, and Trevor Thue batted 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Jordon Johnson drove in two runs on one hit, while Kale Stevenson drove in a run as well for Lake Norden.

Noem saw the most time on the mound for Lake Norden, allowing six hits, five walks, and four runs in 5.1 innings, striking out five.

For Clark, Hudson Fuller took the loss in 7.1 innings, allowing 12 hits, two walks, and 10 runs while striking out three.

Andrew Magedanz and Bryce DesLauriers led the Clark offense with two hits and two RBIs apiece, including a double by Magedanz and a homer by DesLauriers. Brent Griffith and Jess Karber each drove in one run on one hit and a walk, David Novak cracked three hits while Grayson Florey added two, and John Koenig drove in a run on a walk in the loss for Clark.


Canova Gang 8, Flandreau Cardinals 1

SIOUX FALLS — Canova racked up 13 hits to defeat Flandreau in CornBelt League action Sunday night.

Derek Miller led the way with two hits and three RBIs, while Garrett Gassman, Tyler Genzlinger, and Brett Bosn each drove in a run on one hit.

Jared Miller, Kendall Gassman, Riley Genzlinger, and Cole Gassman each tallied two hits, with Kendall Gassman cracking a double.

Kendall Gassman and Tyler Genzlinger split the pitching duties, throwing four innings apiece, with Gassman allowing three hits and one unearned run, while Genzlinger didn’t allow a baserunner, striking out three batters.

For Flandreau, JaColby Anderson saw the most time on the mound with 5.1 innings pitched, allowing 11 hits and seven runs while striking out three.

Curt Anderson drove in one run on a double, while Beau Severtson and Anderson each tallied hits in the loss.


Tabor Bluebirds 8, Crofton Blue Jays (Neb.) 1

TABOR — Jared Miller and Chase Kortan combined to throw 17 strikeouts as Tabor defeated Crofton in South Central League action Sunday.

Miller allowed five hits and a walk while striking out 14 in the first seven innings to earn the victory on the mound, while Kortan gave up one hit, two walks, and one unearned run in the final two innings, striking out three.

Hunter Hallock paced the Tabor offense batting 3-for-5 with two RBIs, Brady Bierema drove in two run on one hit, Beau Rothschadl added three hits, including a double, and an RBI, while Kortan, Bryce Scieszinski, and Zach Sutera each tallied RBIs in the win. Riley Rothschadl and Joey Slama were effective at the top of the order, each tallying two hits, with Rothschadl doubling and drawing a walk.

For Crofton, Capp Bengston took the loss on the mound in four innings, allowing five hits, two walks, and three runs while striking out two.

Colton Schieffer batted 3-for-3 to lead Crofton in hits, while Justin Potts, Austin Tramp, and Andy Knapp each tallied hits in the loss.


Chamberlain Mallards 7, Colome Chaos 1

CHAMBERLAIN — Mike Schwartz tossed 13 strikeouts as Chamberlain defeated Colome in Pony Hills League action Sunday.

Schwartz allowed just eight hits, two walks, and one unearned run in a complete game to earn the victory on the mound for Chamberlain.

Schwartz and Cade Johnson paced the Mallard offense, with Schwartz batting 2-for-3 with a triple, a walk, and an RBI, while Johnson batted 1-for-4 with a two-run homer.

Patrick Purdy drove in one run on one hit, Chris Schwartz batted 2-for-4, and Sandler Wiekamp, Scott Dourghty, Rayden Haak, and Kyle Forester each tallied hits in the win.

For Colome, Ethan Vobr took the loss in a seven inning effort, allowing 10 hits, one walk, and seven runs while striking out eight.

Carter Brickman and Cameron Biggins tallied two hits, while Vobr, Jake Luse, Joshua Buttler, and Dave Baker each tallied hits in the loss.


Castlewood Ravens 13, Ramona Express 2 (8 innings)

CASTLEWOOD — Four Castlewood batters drove in two runs apiece as the Ravens defeated Ramona in Eastern Dakota League action Sunday afternoon.

Kyler Tvedt batted 2-for-6 with two RBIs, Kellan Benck batted 4-for-6 with a double and two RBIs, Blayne Schliesman went 3-for-3 with a walk, double, and two RBIs, and Lucas Ching batted 1-for-4 with two more RBIs.

Alex Gauer went 2-for-6 with an RBI, Booker Schooley drove in one run on one hit, and Ethan Benck drove in a run on two walks. Adam Ching tallied a hit, while Kegan Tvedt tallied one hit while drawing three walks as well.

Kyler Tvedt earned the victory on the mound in five shutout innings, allowing three hits while  striking out seven.

For Ramona Addison Stewart took the loss, allowing eight hits, five walks, and seven runs in three innings.

Casey Renaas led the offense with two hits, while drawing a walk and driving in a run, while Connor Libis, Aaron Schlosser, Brent Bickett, and Brady Miller each tallied hits for Ramona.


Groton Locke Electric 17, Faulkton Hitmen 7 (8 innings)

GROTON — Groton scored 15 unanswered runs as it earned a Northern Plains League comeback victory Sunday night.

Ben Althoff led the offense with two hits, including a double, two walks and five RBIs, Dylan Frey added three hits and an RBI, Ty Sieber batted a perfect 5-for-5 with a walk, double, and an RBI, while Alex Morris batted 2-for-4 with a walk and two RBIs.

Brian Hansen, Cole Simon, and Wyatt Locke each drove in one run on one hit, while Carlos Camacho, Jackson Cogley, and Aaron Severson each tallied hits in the win as well.

Morris earned the victory on the mound for Groton, allowing two hits and one walk in five innings, striking out eight.

For Faulkton, Rafael Clemente drove in two runs on two hits, including a double, Jett Kleinsasser added a double and two RBIs, and Simon Bowar batted 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI.

Blaze Herdman and Parker Geditz each tallied hits in the loss as well.

Gunner Brueggeman took the loss in 4.2 innings, allowing five hits, six walks, and eight runs while striking out nine.


Yankton Tappers 10, Irene Cardinals 0 (6 innings)

YANKTON — Drew Ryken threw six shutout innings as Yankton defeated Irene in South Central League action Sunday night.

Ryken allowed just two hits and two walks in six innings pitched while striking out five to earn the victory on the mound for Yankton.

Rugby Ryken, Colin Zahrbock, Mitch Gullickson, and Josh Sheldon were huge factors in the offense for Yankton, combining for five hits, including a double by Zahrbock, three walks, and eight RBIs.

Will Rauch, Joe Gokie, and Mac Ryken each tallied hits in the win as well.

For Irene, Cole Edberg took the loss in three innings, allowing seven hits, three walks, and seven runs while striking out two.

Dustin Livingston and Marcus VanDriel each tallied hits in the loss.


Yankton Tappers 10, Irene Cardinals 0 (6 innings)

YANKTON — Kade Sudbeck’s no-hitter propelled Yankton to a South Central League victory over Irene Sunday night.

Subeck allowed just three walks in six innings while striking out 13 batters to earn the victory on the mound.

Will Rauch, Rugby Ryken, Mitch Gullickson, Josh Sheldon, and Samuel Kampshoff were effective at the plate, tallying two hits apiece, combining for five RBIs.

Drew Ryken, Joe Gokie, and Mac Ryken each drove in one run apiece, while Colin Zahrbock added a hit in the win.

For Irene, Preston Gall earned the loss in four innings pitched, allowing nine hits, three walks, and seven runs while striking out three.

Tate Gale drew two walks while Dakota Flint drew a walk in the loss as well.
