Winner/Colome 6, Platte/Geddes 4

WINNER — Dylan Brandis struck out 10 batters as Winner/Colome edged Platte/Geddes for a Legion baseball win on Tuesday. 

Brandis allowed six hits, three earned runs and walked four batters in his five-inning start. Ethan Bartels and Stratton Morehart had two hits apiece. Zachary Olson and Rocky Wiedman drove in two runs apiece. 

For Platte/Geddes, Aiden Bultje had two hits, while Joey Foxley and Jaxon Christensen both drove in runs. Foxley took the loss after allowing two hits, one earned run, two walks and struck out three batters in two relief innings. 


Parkston Post 194 8, Mount Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica-Stickney 1

PARKSTON — Luke Bormann struck out 10 batters in two-hit shutout in Legion baseball action on Tuesday.

Bormann walked one batter and allowed one unearned run on 105 pitches. Bormann added a hit on offense, while Kaleb Weber, Brayden Jervik, James Deckert, Brody Boettcher and Will Jodozi had hits. 

For MVPCS, Cain Tobin went 2 of 3 at the plate. Mason Hetland took the loss after allowing four runs (one earned), two hits, three walks and struck out five batters in his three-inning start. 


Aberdeen Smittys 12, Sturgis Post 33 3

STURGIS — The Aberdeen Smittys racked up 14 hits en route to a Legion baseball win over Sturgis Post 33 on Tuesday. 

Casey Vining led Aberdeen with four hits and four RBI. Zane Backous added three hits and drove in three runs, while Drew Salfrank had two hits and an RBI. Salfrank earned the win after allowing four hits, three earned runs, two walks and striking out three batters in his 4.2-inning start.

For Sturgis, Adam Flohr finished 2 of 2 at the plate. Kane Peters took the loss after allowing seven hits, six earned runs, four walks and struck out five batters in his 5.2-inning start.


Dell Rapids Post 65 12, Yankton Post 12 9

YANKTON — Jack Henry struck out six batters and Brayden Pankonen had three hits to pace Dell Rapids Post 65 to a Legion baseball win on Tuesday.

Henry allowed two hits, three runs (one earned) and walked six batters in his five-inning start. Pankonen finished 3 of 5 from the plate. Henry added two hits and two RBI. Sutton Williams drove in two runs. 

For Yankton, Matthew Sheldon finished 2 of 3 and drove in three runs. Lucas Kampshoff smacked a solo home run.
