Kimball/White Lake Nationals 11, Winner Demons 5

WINNER — Caden Lenz struck out 10 batters in seven innings as Kimball/White Lake defeated Winner in Pony Hills League action Sunday night.

Lenz allowed four runs on six hits and a walk in seven innings, while striking out 10 batters, but Mitchell Price earned the victory on the mound in two innings of relief, allowing two walks and a run, striking out four batters.

Tucker Wookey, Beau Kirsch, and Dylanger Pierson each drove in two runs on a combined four hits, while Caden Lenz and Jaxon Christensen each drove in a run on a combined five hits.

For Winner, Ethan Bartels earned the loss in 8.1 innings pitched, issuing nine hits, seven walks, and 10 runs, while striking out 11 batters.

Shane Philips led the Winner offense in hits with two including a double, Aaron Gilchrist and Casey Heenan each drove in one run on two hits, while Kayleb Brozik and Pierce Nelson each tallied hits in the loss.


Flandreau Blue Teal 4, Canova Gang 3

CANOVA — Gage Sharping’s 17 strikeouts and two home runs helped Flandreau defeat Canova in CornBelt League action Sunday.

Gage Sharping earned the victory on the mound for Flandreau, allowing one hit and seven walks in six innings, striking out 17 batters, while batting 2-for-4 with two home runs that drove in three total runs. 

Ethan Johnson threw the final three frames for Flandreau, allowing one hit, three walks, and three runs, striking out five.

Kolby Peters drove in one run on a double, Paul Mc Glone tallied two hits and Mason Riley tallied a hit in the win as well.

For Canova, Trey Krier took the loss in seven innings, allowing six hits and four runs, striking out 14 batters.

Tucker Gassman drove in one run on one hit, Jack Neises drove in one run, and Garrett Gassman tallied a hit in the loss as well.


Colome Chaos 6, Wessington Springs Owls 5

WESSINGTON SPRINGS — Joey Cole’s complete-game on the mound helped Colome defeat Wessington Springs in Pony Hills League action Sunday.

Cole allowed seven hits, two walks, and five runs in nine innings, striking out six batters to earn the victory on the mound.

Carter Brickman, Ethan Vobr, and Cole each drove in one run on one hit, while Stratton Morehart and Riley Orel each collected two hits, including a double by Orel. Layton Thieman and Joshua Buttler each tallied hits in the win as well.

For Wessington Springs, Mason Schelske took the loss in a nine-inning effort, allowing nine hits, three walks, and six runs, striking out nine.

Drew Olinger drove in a run on two hits, Cade Mohling collected two hits, while Blake Larson, Coy Fastnacht, and Terrek Butterfield each tallied hits in the loss.


Mount Vernon Mustangs 4, Parkston Mudcats 3

MOUNT VERNON — Deric Denning struck out 15 batters in a Sunshine League win over Parkston on Sunday.

Denning threw nine innings for Mount Vernon, allowing six hits, four walks, and three runs while striking out 15 batters.

Walker Hultgren, Chase Hetlund, and Denning each drove in one run on one hit, while Eric Giblin drove in a run on a sac-fly. Bradley Dean batted 1-for-2 with two walks in the win as well.

For Parkston, Tate Kogel took the loss in seven innings, allowing three hits, six walks, and three runs, striking out seven.

Jake Goble drove in two runs on one hit, Brady Nolz hit a solo home run, while Luke Bormann, Jeff Harris, Dylan Mogck, and Maddux Brissette each tallied hits in the loss.


Dell Rapids PBR 5, Hartford/Humboldt Gamecocks 2

HUMBOLDT — Grant Sweeter threw a complete-game on the mound in a CornBelt League victory over Hartford-Humboldt Sunday.

Sweeter issued eight hits, two walks, and two runs, striking out one batter.

Drew Sweeter paced the Dell Rapids offense driving in three runs on one hit, while Riley Hoffman collected three hits, including a double. Weston Hansen and Nate McKee each drove in one run on one hit, while Conner Spindler tallied a hit in the win as well.

For H/H, Blake Svoboda and Nate Masloski split the pitching duties in the loss, allowing eight hits, three walks, and five runs, striking out nine.

Adam Hentges drove in one run on two hits, Jonah Rechtenbaugh tallied two hits, while Briggs Havlik, Joe Hanisch, Broc Halderman, and Carter Halverson each tallied hits in the loss.


Elkton Snappers 8, Volga Cormorants 4

VOLGA — Aiden Stewart’s 18 strikeout game helped Elkton defeat Volga in Eastern Dakota League action Sunday night.

Stewart allowed four runs on five hits and two walks in nine innings, while striking out 18 batters to earn the victory on the mound.

Aidan Erickson batted 2-for-3 with two walks, a double, and two RBIs, Kellan Sattler drove in two runs on two hits, while Dylan Gillespie drove in two runs on one hit in the win as well.

For Volga, Zane Hiller took the loss in four innings pitched, allowing four hits, two walks, and six runs, striking out four batters.

Hiller drove in one run on one hit and one walk, Bailey Colemer collected a hit and an RBI, while Noah Puetz, Connor Gross, and Dylan Vosburg each tallied hits in the loss.


Dimock-Emery Raptors 12, Parkston Devil Rays 9

EMERY — Phil Johnson’s eighth-inning three-RBI double helped Dimock-Emery defeat Parkston in a comeback Sunshine League victory Sunday.

Along with Johnson’s three RBIs, Chase Arend drove in two runs on a homer, Sawyer Schultz drove in two runs on a walk and a sac-fly, Colton Plagmann drove in a run on two hits and a two walks, Jason Schmidt drove in a run on two walks, and Gene Kitchens tacked on an RBI on a walk as well.

Drew Kitchens, Sam Pischke, and Landon Waddell each tallied hits in the win.

Waddell earned the victory on the mound for D/E, allowing one hit, two walks, and two runs over 3.2 innings, striking out six batters.

For Parkston, Max Scott took the loss in 3.1 innings of relief, allowing three hits, three walks, and six runs, striking out four.

Jonah Schmidt highlighted the Devil Ray offense, driving in five runs on three hits, including two home runs and a walk, while Dylan Soulek drove in two runs on two hits, including a homer, and a walk. Brayden Jervik drove in two runs on two hits, while Seth Muth and Ty Neugebauer each tallied hits in the loss.


Plankinton Bankers 10, Chamberlain Mallards 8

CHAMBERLAIN — Plankinton pounded 16 hits in a Pony Hills League victory over Chamberlain Sunday night.

Kane Knudson, Hunter Pranger, and Thomas Stange each tallied three hits, with Pranger and Knudson driving in one run each, While Drew Gerlach, Marcus Hill, and Riley Schmeling each tallied two hits, including doubles by Gerlach and Schmeling that drove in one run each.

Gerlach earned the victory on the mound for Plankinton, allowing one hit in 1.2 innings while striking out two batters.

For Chamberlain, Mike Schwartz took the loss in 8.1 innings, allowing 16 hits, five walks, and 10 runs, striking out 10 batters.

Schwartz led Chamberlain in hits with three, including a double, Matt Hilson collected two hits, a double, and four RBIs, Evan Steiner drove in one run on one hit, and Kyle Forester drove in a run on two hits as well.


Winner/Colome Pheasants 12, Corsica Horned Frogs 8

CORSICA — Drew DeMers and Oscar Pravacek drove in six combined runs in a Sunshine League victory over Corsica on Sunday.

DeMers batted 1-for-5 with a walk and a homer driving in three runs, while Pravacek collected two hits, including a home run that drove in three runs. Austin Richey collected a double and a walk that drove in two runs, Austin Calhoon batted 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI, while Reed Harter and Dillon Lambley each drove in a run on a walk in the win as well.

Patrick Starr earned the victory on the mound for the Pheasants, allowing eight hits, five walks, and eight runs in 6.2 innings, striking out five.

For Corsica, Brady Cristoffels took the loss in six innings pitched, allowing six hits, four walks, and nine runs, striking out five.

Brendan Wentland collected three hits and two walks, driving in a run, while Logan Bakker batted 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs. Gavin Zomer drove in a run on a walk, while Luke Bamberg tallied a double in the loss as well.


Castlewood Ravens 7, Ortonville Rox (Min.) 2 (7 innings)

ORTONVILLE — Castlewood’s Nate Phinney drove in two runs on two doubles as the Ravens defeated Ortonville in amateur baseball action Sunday afternoon.

Gus Steiger batted 3-for-5, including a double for Castlewood, Lucas Ching batted 2-for-3 with an RBI, Alex Gauer drove in one run on a hit and a walk, and Kegan Tvedt tallied a hit in the win as well.

Kyler Tvedt earned the victory on the mound, allowing three hits, two walks, and two runs over five innings pitched, striking out three batters.

For Ortonville, Justin Downes took the loss in three innings, allowing two hits, two walks, and two runs.

Joe Fuller paced the Ortonville offense with two hits, including a double, a walk and two RBIs.


Dell Rapids Mudcats 4, Sioux Falls Flying Squirrels 3

DELL RAPIDS — Josh Roeman’s walk-off hit-by-pitch completed the ninth-inning comeback as Dell Rapids defeated Sioux Falls in non-league amateur baseball action Sunday.

Mark Abrahamson, Roeman, and Carter Gullickson each drove in a run on a combined seven walks, while Ty Hoglund drove in a run on one hit. Chad Hunt collected two hits and a walk, while Kris Regas and Dusty Haffman collected a hit and two walks in the win as well.

The Mudcats drew 14 walks as a team in the win.

John Spaeth took the victory on the mound in one inning of work, allowing one hit, one walk, and striking out one batter.

For Sioux Falls, Kyle Gulbrandson took the loss in 0.2 innings of relief, allowing three walks and two runs, striking out two.

Dylan Ades, Seth Peterson, Jaden Holzer, and Carter Brown each tallied hits, including a triple by Brown, in the win.


Yankton Tappers 10, Lesterville Broncs 2

YANKTON — Yankton collected nine hits and 12 walks to defeat Lesterville in South Central League action Sunday evening.

Josh Sheldon batted 2-for-4 with a walk and three RBIs, Samuel Kampshoff drove in two runs on three walks, Colin Zahrbock batted 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, and an RBI, while Drew Ryken, Mac Ryken, and Joe Gokie each drove in a run on one hit and a walk.

Kade Sudbeck earned the victory on the mound in eight innings, allowing four hits, two walks, and one run, striking out seven.

For Lesterville, Garret Damico took the loss in 2.2 innings pitched, allowing four runs on one hit and six walks, striking out one.

Michael Drotzmann collected two hits, including a double, while Derek Quame batted 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI as well.


Tabor Bluebirds 11, Freeman Blacksox 0 (7 innings)

FREEMAN — Riley Rothschadl struck out 16 batters in a South Central League victory over Freeman on Sunday.

Rothschadl allowed just four walks in a seven-inning no-hitter, along with 16 strikeouts to earn the victory on the mound.

Hunter Hallock led the Tabor offense batting 4-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs, Joey Slama drove in two runs on two hits, including a double, Beau Rothschadl collected two hits, a double, and two RBIs, while Zach Sutera batted 1-for-3 with an RBI. Rothschadl collected two hits, a double, and two walks, while Brady Bierma and Sam Caba each tallied a hit in the win.

For Freeman, Trey Christensen took the loss in seven innings pitched, allowing 13 hits, five walks, and 11 runs, striking out five batters.


Crofton Blue Jays (Neb.) 10, Menno MadFrogs 0 (7 innings)

CROFTON — Capp Bengston’s nine strikeouts helped Crofton defeat Menno in South Central League action Sunday night.

Bengston allowed just five hits and a walk in seven shutout innings, striking out nine to earn the victory on the mound.

Austin Tramp led the Crofton offense with four hits and two RBIs, while Tyler Koch drove in two runs on one hit. Seth Wiebelhaus, Devin Hegge, and Colton Schieffer each collected an RBI on one hit, while James Kaiser tallied two hits in the win as well.

For Menno, Doug Hall took the loss in five innings pitched, allowing 10 hits, four walks, and nine runs, striking out three batters.

Dylan Lehr led the Menno offense with two hits, including a double, while Spencer Schultz, Ajay Herrboldt, and Brayden Sattler each tallied hits in the loss.


Clark Traders 15, Ramona Express 0 (3 innings)

CLARK — Grayson Florey’s five-RBIs helped Clark defeat Ramona in Eastern Dakota League action Sunday afternoon.

Florey batted 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs to lead the Clark offense. Zach Winter batted 2-for-2 with a home run and three RBIs, while Peyton Garbers drove in three runs on a homer as well. Brent Griffith drove in a run on one hit, while Bryce DesLauriers collected two hits in the win for Clark.

Hudson Fuller took the victory on the mound, allowing one walk in three innings pitched, striking out five batters.

For Ramona, Gabe DeRungs took the loss in one inning pitched, allowing five hits, two walks, and seven runs.


Clark Traders 19, Ramona Express 0 (3 innings)

CLARK — Bryce DesLauriers and Peyton Garbers drove in nine runs as Clark defeated Ramona in Eastern Dakota League action Sunday afternoon.

DesLauriers batted 3-for-3 with a walk, a double, and five RBIs, while Garbers drove in four runs on three hits, including a double and a home run.

Rhett Florey batted 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, John Koenig drove in a run on two hits, Braedon Zaug drove in two runs on a walk, and Hudson Fuller batted 1-for-1 with an RBI.

Jeffrey Paulson earned the victory on the mound for Clark, allowing two hits and a walk over three innings, striking out five batters.

For Ramona, Aaron Schlosser took the loss in two innings pitched, allowing seven hits, a walk, and 10 runs, striking out three.

Connor Libis and Logan DeRungs each tallied hits in the loss for Ramona.


Northville Merchants 16, Faulkton Hitmen 0 (6 innings)

FAULKTON — Nortville pitching duo combined to blank Faulkton in Northern Plains League action Sunday night.

Bryan Weber earned the victory on the mound, allowing three hits and one walk in four shutout innings, striking out three batters, while Jeremiah Maxfield struck out four batters in two innings.

Maxfield led the offense with two hits, two walks, and one RBI, while Niko Pezonella, Greg Heyne, Scott Hamiel, and Noah Fischbach each drove in two runs. Ben Fischbach, Ethan Beyers, and Max Waltman each drove in one run for Northville as well.

For Faulkton, Tyler Cunningham took the loss in 2.1 innings pitched, allowing three hits, four walks, and three runs, striking out two.

Ryan Engel, Simon Bowar, and Gunner Brueggaman each tallied hits in the loss.


Four Corners 15, Burke Bombers 0 (5 innings)

HAYES — Peyton Zabel’s 10 strikeouts helped Four Corners blank the Bombers in Pony Hills League action Sunday night.

Zabel threw all five innings for Four Corners, allowing just one hit and two walks to earn the victory on the mound.

Austin Hand drove in three runs on two hits to lead the 4C offense, while Noah Hainy and Sam Hand each drove in two runs on three hits, including a triple by Hainy. Zabel batted 2-for-4 with an RBI, Garrett Stout drove in a run on a double and two walks, and River Iverson drove in a run as well.

For Burke, Coy Determan took the loss in 3.2 innings, allowing 10 hits, three walks, and 12 runs, striking out two.

Ben Witt tallied the only hit of the game for Burke.


Garretson Blue Jays 29, Parker Ringnecks 0 (5 innings)

GARRETSON — Garretson pounded 25 hits as the Blue Jays defeated Parker in State Line League action Sunday afternoon.

Cole Koch led the offense batting 4-for-6 with a double, a walk, and six RBIs. Tayson Swatek drove in four runs on three hits, including two doubles, Scott Splett, Trey Buckneberg, and Brady Debates each drove in three runs on a combined eight hits, including five doubles. Brady Bonte and Austin VanHove each drove in two runs on two hits and a walk, Ryan Flannagan collected three hits and an RBI, and Nick Bonte tallied three hits and two walks as well.

VanHove took the victory on the mound allowing two hits and two walks in five innings, striking out nine.

For Parker, Justin Brehmer started on the mound for Parker, allowing 12 hits, three walks, and 14 runs in two innings pitched.

Jevin Erickson and Jaden Russell tallied hits in the loss for Parker.
