Winner/Colome Pheasants 3, Dimock-Emery Raptors 1

WINNER —  JJ Farner threw a complete game as Winner/Colome earned a Sunshine League victory over Dimock-Emery Sunday afternoon.

Farner threw all nine innings, striking out 10 batters while allowing four hits, five walks, and just one earned run.

At the plate, Derek Graesser, Reed Harter, and Austin Richey each tallied hits, including doubles by Harter and Richey.

Drew DeMers drove in one run on one hit, while Oscar Pravacek collected one hit in the win as well.

For DE, Josh Engquist took the loss on the mound, giving up eight hits, four walks, and three runs in an eight inning effort, while driving in one run on one hit at the plate as well.

Chase Arend, Sam Pischke, and Gene Kitchens each tallied hits in the loss.

 

Lake Norden Lakers 6, Milbank Firechiefs 4 (13 innings)

LAKE NORDEN — Cameron Thue’s walk-off homer lifted Lake Norden over Milbank in a 13-inning thriller Sunday night.

Thue batted 3-for-5 with a walk and a two-run home run in the game, while Mick Tulson added two hits and an RBI for Lake Norden as well.

Jackson Noem batted 1-for-5 with a walk and a solo home run, Mitchell Noem drove in a run on one hit and two walks, and M Stevenson tallied a hit in the win as well.

Nicolai Arbach had the most time on the mound for the Lakers, giving up seven hits, three walks, and two runs in 10.1 innings while striking out 17 batters.

For Milbank, Dom Boerger took the loss on the mound despite a 12 inning, 164 pitch effort. Boeger allowed seven hits, four walks, and three runs while fanning 15 batters.

Brady Krause led the Firechief offense with three hits, while Kaden Krause and Mitch Quade each drove in two runs on two hits.

Merik Junker tallied a hit in the loss as well.


Dell Rapids Mudcats 1, Flandreau Blue Teal 0

DELL RAPIDS — Carter Gullickson’s two-out walk drove in the only run of the game as the Mudcats earned a Cornbelt League victory over Flandreau Sunday night.

Offensively, Dalton Lehnen led the Mudcat offense with two hits, while Ty Hoglund and Dalton Allen each tallied hits.

Lehnen earned the victory on the mound in a complete game performance, giving up 5 hits while striking out 17 batters.

For Flandreau, Ethan Johnson took the loss on the mound, giving up six hits, five walks, and one run while striking out five.

Mason Riley collected two hits in three at-bats, while Paul McGlone, Kolby Peters, and Gage Sharping each tallied hits in the loss.


Flandreau Cardinals 3, Dell Rapids PBR 2

FLANDREAU — Zak Wallner’s walk-off single lifted Flandreau over Dell Rapids PBR in Cornbelt League action Sunday night.

Wallner’s RBI single ended what was a three-run ninth inning to stun PBR in a comeback victory.

Bret Severtson earned the victory on the mound for Flandreau, allowing one hit and one run in 1.2 innings, while Wallner threw the first 7.1 innings, giving up seven hits and one run, striking out eight batters.

Offensively Keith Cutler, Luke Gassman, and Rick Weber each tallied two hits in the game, with Cutler driving in one run.

For Dell Rapids, Drew Sweeter took the loss in 1.2 innings of relief, giving up five hits and three runs.

Brayden Pankonen and Weston Hansen led the offense with two hits apiece, while Sweeter, Zach Puetz, Beau Behrend, and Riley Calhoon each tallied hits in the loss.


Crofton Blue Jays (Neb.) 7, Lesterville Broncs 6

LESTERVILLE — A late inning comeback fell just short as Crofton earned a South Central League victory Sunday night.

Lesterville scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth, but were unable to tie the game.

Crofton’s offense highlighted by a two home run day by Jared Wiebelhaus, tallying three total RBIs.

Justin Potts drove in two runs on one hit and a walk, while James Kaiser, Zach Hegge, and Austin Tramp each tallied hits in the win.

Ben Hegge earned the victory on the mound, giving up six hits and three runs in six innings pitched, striking out three batters.

For Lesterville, Hunter Martin took the loss in a 6.1 inning effort, allowing five hits and six runs.

Ethan Wishon did the most damage in the Lesterville lineup,  driving in three runs on two hits, including a home run.

Hunter Martin batted 1-for-4 with a solo home run, while Cam Shiltz batted 1-for-4 with a two-run homer.

Tyler Edler and Derek Quame combined for five hits in the loss as well.


Madison Dairy Queen Broncos 5, Hartford-Humboldt Wood Ducks 1

HUMBOLDT — Tyler Tappe’s 13 strikeout performance lifts Madison over the Wood Ducks in Cornbelt League action Sunday afternoon.

Tappe threw just six innings, giving up four hits, one walk, and one run to go with 13 fanned batters. Aspen Dahl came on in relief, giving up one hit over the final three innings, striking out five more batters.

Jared Kennington batted 3-for-3 with a walk and a home run, driving in two runs to pace the Madison offense.

Tappe, Trey Smith, and Peyton Wolf each tallied two hits in the win as well.

For HH, Preston Riddle took the loss in two innings pitched, allowing three hits, two walks, and two runs while striking out two.

B Odegaard led the Wood Duck offense with two hits, including a solo home run, while Nathan Adrian, Keaton Vessells, and Jacob Ellens each tallied hits in the loss.


Canova Gang 10, Colman A’s 0 (8 innings)

CANOVA — Trey Krier’s shutout on the mound gave Canova a mercy rule victory over Colman Sunday afternoon.

Krier threw all eight innings, giving up seven hits while striking out six to earn the victory on the mound. Krier also collected two hits, including a double and two RBIs.

Riley Genzlinger led the Canova offense with three hits while Jared and Justin Miller each tallied two hits, combining for two RBIs and a walk.

Derek Miller, Garrett Gassman, and Caleb Carmichael each drove in one run on one hit in the win as well.

For Colman, Ian Barker took the loss in a five inning effort, giving up seven hits, four walks, and seven runs while striking out three.

Chris Burke was efficient at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 while three other batters tallied hits in the loss.


Brookings Cubs 10, Larchwood Diamonds (Iowa) 0 (6 innings)

PIPESTONE — Zach Shastay’s 12 strikeout performance propelled Brookings to a non-league amateur baseball victory Sunday afternoon.

Shastay gave up just one hit and two walks in his complete game shutout to earn the victory on the mound, while batting 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI in the win as well.

Noel Burgos, Tucker Wookey, and Justin Cofell each collected two hits for the Cubs, combining for four RBIs.

Craig Lasley, Noah Buss, and Tyler Kreutner each drove in one run on one hit in the win as well.

For Larchwood, the pitching staff gave up 11 hits, four walks, and 10 runs while striking out five.

Mason VerMeer batted 1-for-2 at the plate to record the only hit of the game for the Diamonds.


Tabor Bluebirds 12, Irene Cardinals 2 (6 innings)

TABOR — Chase Kortan’s six RBI day helped Tabor defeat Irene in South Central League action Sunday afternoon.

Kortan batted 2-for-4 with a three-RBI double and a two-run homer to pace the Bluebird offense.

Riley Rothschadl batted 1-for-2 with a walk, hit-by-pitch, and a double that drove in two runs.

Joey Slama drove in one run on one hit, while Brady Bierma, Zach Sutera, and Jeff Honner each tallied hits in the win.

Kortan earned the victory on the mound for Tabor, throwing six innings, allowing six hits, one walk, and two earned runs to go with six strikeouts.

For Irene, Anthony De La Torre Guglielmana took the loss on the mound, giving up three hits, four walks, and seven runs in one inning pitched.

Marcus VanDriel highlighted the Cardinal offense with a two-run homer in the top of the third, while Bryant Knodel led the offense in hits with two.


Tabor Bluebirds 9, Irene Cardinals 0 (7 innings)

TABOR — Bryce Scieszinski threw six shutout innings as Tabor swept Irene in South Central League action Sunday night.

Scieszinski allowed just four hits and three walks in his outing, striking out six batters, while adding an RBI double at the plate.

Chris Sutera drove in two runs on one hit, Brady Bierma and Hunter Hallock each drove in one run, while Riley Rothschadl and Joey Slama each tallied hits in the win.

For Irene, Marcus VanDriel took the loss in 4.1 innings pitched, surrendering two hits, three walks, and six runs, striking out 10.

VanDriel, Dustin Livingston, Dashel Spurrell, and Bryant Knodel each tallied hits in the loss.


Elkton Snappers 11, Volga Cormorants 2

ELKTON — Dylan Gillespie went the distance on the mound as Elkton picked up an Eastern Dakota League victory Sunday afternoon.

Gillespie gave up just three hits and five walks along with two runs in his complete game outing, earning the victory on the mound.

Brady Steffen and Aiden Stewart had big nights at the plate, Steffen batted 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs, while Stewart batted 2-for-3 with two walks, a double, and two RBIs.

Kellen Sattler drove in a run on two hits including a double, while Jordan Beck batted 1-for-3 with a walk and another RBI.

For Volga, Braden Danzeisen took the loss on the mound, giving up six walks and five runs in 3.2 innings, while striking out five.

Danzeisen led the offense batting 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, and Jace Christianson tallied a hit in the loss as well.


Groton Locke Electric 4, Northville Merchants 1

GROTON — Groton racked up six hits and 12 walks to take down Northville in amateur baseball action Sunday night.

Brian Hansen and Ben Althoff paced the Groton offense with two hits and one walk apiece, with Hansen driving in one run.

Ty Sieber and Dylan Frey also had big games, each tallying hits while combining for five walks.

Chandler Larson earned the victory on the mound, giving up three hits, five walks, and one run over seven innings pitched.

For Northville, Kyle Beardsley took the loss on the mound, allowing three hits, three walks, and three runs over two innings pitched.

Greg Hayne, Carter Lane, and Ethan Beyers each tallied hits in the loss, with Beyers driving in the lone run as well.


Alexandria Angels 16, Parkston Mudcats 4 (7 innings)

ALEXANDRIA — Alexandria scored 12 runs in the first two innings to defeat the Mudcats in Sunshine League action Sunday afternoon.

The bats were active for Alexandria, as nine different players drove in runs in the win.

Jerrod Zens hit a three-run homer to lead the team in RBIs, while Jordan Gau added two hits and two RBIs.

Landon Ruesink, Tyson Gau, Wyatt Kayser, Michael Shoettmer, and Reid Smith all drove in one run on one hit for Alexandria.

Jacob Giles earned the victory on the mound, giving up four hits and five walks in a four inning effort.

For Parkston, Tate Kogel took the loss, giving up six hits, five walks, and 12 runs in 1.1 innings pitched.

Jake Goble led the Mudcats with three hits including a double, while Dylan Mogck drove in two runs.

Dillon Stadlman, Ryan McGinnis, Jake Weber, and Kogel each tallied hits in the loss as well.


Kimball/White Lake Nationals 12, Colome Chaos 2 (7 innings)

KIMBALL — Caden Lenz’s three hit, two RBI day lifts the Nationals over Colome in Pony Hills League action Sunday night.

Lenz also pitched three innings of relief in the game, giving up three hits while striking out four.

Hudson Heath earned the victory on the mound, allowing seven hits, a walk, and two runs while striking out six in four innings pitched.

Heath, Carter Lenz, and Dylan Konechne each tallied two hits, combining for five RBIs, while Wes Kroupa collected three hits.

Jon Lyons and Trent Wookey each drove in one run on one hit in the win as well.

For Colome, Ethan Vobr took the loss on the mound, allowing 14 hits and 11 runs in four innings pitched, while batting 2-for-4 with an RBI at the plate.

Eli Vobr collected two hits on three at-bats, white Joey Cole, Carter Brickman, Jake Luse, Matt Engelmann, Riley Orel, and Carter Dye each tallied hits in the loss as well.

 

Winner Demons 14, Chamberlain Mallards 2 (7 innings)

CHAMBERLAIN — Winner racked up 11 hits in a mercy rule victory over the Chamberlain Mallards in Pony Hills League action Sunday night.

Leading the charge was Ethan Bartels, Ashton Klein, and Pierce Nelson, combining for seven hits and three RBIs to pace the Demon offense.

Aaron Gilchrist drove in two runs on one hit and a walk, while Kayleb Brozik and Evan Farner each tallied hits in the win.

Farner was the winning pitcher for the Demons, allowing three hits, two walks, and one run in six innings, striking out nine batters.

For Chamberlain, Evan Steiner took the loss in six innings pitched, giving up nine hits, a walk, and eight runs, while striking out 10 batters.

Steiner, Braydon Kreofsky, Mike Schwartz, and Rayden Haak each tallied hits in the loss for the Mallards.


Burke Bombers 14, Plankinton Bankers 4 (8 innings)

BURKE — The Bombers’ 14 hit night was plenty as Burke took down Plankinton in Pony Hills League action Sunday night.

Tommy Determan, Blake Boes, Coy Determan, Jordan Vosika, Sawyer Tietgen, and Aaron Sundquist each recorded multi-hit games, including doubles by Sundquist (2), Tommy Determan, and Brogan Glover, as well as a triple by Boes.

Christian Schweigert, Glover, and Sundquist each drove in two runs for Burke, while Boes, Teitgen, Tommy Determan, and Vosika each drove in one run apiece.

Sundquist earned the victory on the mound for Burke, allowing five hits and four runs in seven innings pitched.

For Plankinton, Devin Mehlhaff took the loss in 4.1 innings, issuing nine hits, one walk, and eight runs while striking out six.

Drew Gerlach, Mehlhaff, Kane Knudson, Austin Hauge, and Brandon Bosworth each recorded hits in the loss, with Hauge driving in two runs.


Yankton Tappers 6, Wynot Expos (Neb.) 5

YANKTON — Four Tappers collected two hits as Yankton edged Wynot in South Central League action Sunday night.

Will Rauch batted 2-for-4 with a double, Drew Ryken went 2-for-3 with a walk, Joe Gokie collected two hits on four at-bats with an RBI, and Rugby Ryken batted 2-for-4 with three runs driven in.

Mitch Gullickson added one hit and an RBI, while Josh Sheldon and Kade Sudbeck each tallied hits in the win, including a triple by Sudbeck.

For Wynot, Landon Wieseler and Jackson Sudbeck each recorded two hits , while David Shenk drove in two runs on one hit.

Sudbeck saw the most time on the mound in the loss, allowing seven hits and two runs in six innings pitched.


Parkston Devil Rays 10, Mount Vernon Mustangs 6

PARKSTON — Parkston racked up 12 hits as the Devil Rays defeated Mount Vernon in Sunshine League action Sunday night.

Dylan Soulek led the offense with three hits and a walk, while Seth Muth batted 2-for-4 with a double.

Jake Helleloid drove in two runs on a double, Carter Sommer added one hit and one RBI, while Brayden Jervik, Landon Sudbeck, Max Scott, and Logan Heidinger each tallied hits in the win.

For Mount Vernon, Spencer Neugebauer led the offense with three hits, including a triple, while Austin Graves drove in two runs on one hit.

Walker Hultgren, Chase Hetland, and Brady Albrecht each drove in a run on one hit, while Eric Giblin, Deric Denning, Bradley Dean, and Cameron Deinert each tallied hits in the loss.

Luke Tiesler took the loss on the mound, giving up nine hits, two walks, and six runs while striking out five in five innings pitched.
