Madison/Chester 8, Sioux Valley 1

VOLGA — Madison/Chester’s JD Prorok picks up 18 strikeouts on the mound to earn a victory over Sioux Valley Tuesday.

Prorok went all seven innings, allowing four hits, one walk, and one earned run in the win.

The MC offense was highlighted by Eli Barger and Quincy Kertz. Barger went 2-for-3, including a double and home run, two RBIs and a walk, while Kertz added another three hits, a double, and two more RBIs.

Tregg McGillivray, Parker Johnson, Jordan Pedersen, and Jack Olson all tallied hits in the win.

For Sioux Valley, Christopher Moberg took the loss on the mound, surrendering seven hits, four walks, and four earned runs while striking out four.

Tate Steffensen led the team in hits with two, while Kameron Hauck and Tate Steffensen each tallied hits.


Baltic 8, Hanson/Bridgewater/Emery 6

ALEXANDRIA — A four-run seventh inning helped Baltic push past Hanson/Bridgewater/Emery in high school baseball action Tuesday evening.

Three players recorded multiple RBIs in the win, with Braxton Allen leading the way collecting three base hits and driving in three runs. Behind Allen, Elias Oakley and Jackson Goehring each drove in two more runs in the contest. 

Allen also received the win on the mound for Baltic, allowing zero hits, three walks, and two earned runs in just over two innings of relief.

For HEB, Tyler Sanderson was credited the loss on the bump, allowing nine hits and four earned runs while throwing six strikeouts.

Carter Popp, Weston Kayser, Esten Schlimgen, AJ Wilber, and Brayden Bahmuller each collected hits in the loss.


Canistota/Freeman/Marion 9, Wagner 0

FREEMAN — Four Canistota/Freeman/Marion pitchers combined to shutout Wagner in Region 1B action Tuesday night.

Evan Scharberg started on the mound for CFM, giving up the only three Wagner hits of the game while striking out five batters in the first four innings.

Riley Gall, Rocky Ammann, and Easton Tschetter all came on in relief, combining for zero hits, four strikeouts, and three walks across the final three frames.

Scharberg, Tschetter, and Tanner Auch each collected multiple hits, while Luke Peters reached base safely in all four plate appearances with a one hit, three walk performance.

For Wagner, Frank Soukup took the loss on the mound, allowing six hits, seven runs, and four walks in two innings.

Javian Pesicka collected two of Wagner’s three hits, while Dominic Doom collected a hit and a walk in three plate appearances.


Lennox 11, Beresford/Alcester-Hudson 3

LENNOX — Nine runs across the first two innings of play was the difference as Lennox took down Beresford/Alcester-Hudson on Tuesday.

Talen Eich and Braxton Musser combined for four hits and five RBIs in the win, including two doubles by Eich.

Isaac Bambas was credited with the win for Lennox, throwing three shutout innings allowing just four hits while striking out five.

For BAH, Ethan Bovil took the loss, giving up six hits, nine runs, while walking three more batters in one inning pitched.

Bovil and Joseph Anderson each recorded multiple hits in the loss, Bovil finished 3-for-4 at the plate while Anderson collected two hits.


Dakota Valley 9, Vermillion 4

VERMILLION — The Panthers came storming back from a three-run deficit in the fifth inning to knock off Vermillion in Region 1B action Tuesday.

The Dakota Valley offense was sparked by a 4-for-4, 4-RBI day by shortstop Drew Lukken, followed by Jackson Boonstra and Beau Jones combining for another four hits, one walk, and two RBIs.

Garrett Anderson earned the victory in his relief outing, shutting out the Tanagers in the final three innings while dishing three strikeouts.

For Vermillion, Jack Moskowitz was credited the loss on the mound, allowing five hits, six runs, and three walks in two innings of work.

Trey Hansen recorded two hits in the loss, while seven other batters each tallied hits.


McCook Central/Montrose 5, Garretson 2

GARRETSON — A four hit day for Clayten Hoffman helped push the McCook Central/Montrose Burros past Garretson in Region 3B action Tuesday.

Hoffman went 4-for-4 at the plate with an RBI including two doubles, while Owen Alley and Zane McCormick added five more hits and two-RBIs.

Trystan Traupel earned the win for MCM, throwing six innings, allowing three hits, four walks, and two runs while striking out five.

For Garretson, Cole Jessen, Treyton Decker, and Carsten Rozeboom each collected hits in the loss.

Caiden Maack took the loss for the Blue Dragons, tallying six hits, three walks, and three earned runs allowed while striking out three in two innings of work.


Mount Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica-Stickney 4, Sioux Falls Christian 2

SIOUX FALLS — Cain Tobin’s two hit, two-RBI day was the difference as the Padres outlasted Sioux Falls Christian Tuesday night.

Tobin went 2-for-3 with a walk and two-RBIs in the win, including a sixth-inning double to help extend the lead.

Isaiah Olson, Brady Fox, and Tyson Wentland were also a big part of the offense, combining for three hits and three walks in the victory.

Tyce Feistner took the win on the mound for the Padres, allowing just two hits, one unearned run while striking out eight in his five innings pitched. Olson came on in relief, allowing one hit, two walks, and one run in the final two frames.

For SFC, Maddux Munson took the loss on the mound, allowing two hits, seven walks, and one run in four innings pitched.

Tim DeSautel, Jacob Docter, and Paul Hoekman each collected hits in the loss.


Scotland/Menno 2, Parker 1

SCOTLAND — In a game that saw just three pitchers, the Scotland/Menno Trappers outdueled Parker to pick up the victory Tuesday night.

Trent Guthmiller got the Trappers started defensively, allowing three hits, one walk, and one run in the first four innings on the mound. The winning pitcher for the Trappers, Kory Keppen, came on in relief to slam the door, allowing just two hits while striking out six in the final three frames.

Jace Walloch collected two hits in the win, while Bryce Sattler and Izayah Ulmer each earned hits in the victory.

For Parker, Ray Travnicek was credited the loss on the mound, throwing 11 strikeouts in six innings pitched, while allowing four hits, one walk, and two earned runs.

Travnicek also went 3-for-4 at the plate, while Luke Travnicek added another two hits in the loss.


Dell Rapids 12, West Central 2

HUMBOLDT — The top ranked Quarriers end region play undefeated after a mercy rule victory against West Central Tuesday night.

After going down 1-0 in the first inning, Dell Rapids responded by scoring runs in each of the final five frames to pick up the victory.

Three Quarrier batters reached base safely on every plate appearance in the victory. Jack Henry went 4-for-4 with a walk and three-RBIs, Mason Stubbe went 3-for-3 with a double, two walks, and three RBIs, and Tad Tjaden went 2-for-2 with a double and two walks.

Tjaden was the winning pitcher for the quarriers, throwing a complete game allowing just three hits, two earned runs, two walks while striking out 12.

For West Central, Landen Holewa recorded the loss, allowing four hits, six walks, and five runs in three innings pitched.

Brodie Herr and Holewa each recorded hits in the loss.


Parkston/Ethan/Tripp 10, Centerville/Viborg-Hurley 3

CENTERVILLE — A four-RBI day for Brayden Jervik helped Parkston/Ethan/Tripp knock off Centerville/Viborg-Hurley Tuesday.

Jervik finished 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and a triple, while fellow teammate Taite Klumb added another two hits including a two-run homerun in the third inning.

Carter Sommer was credited the victory for PET, allowing four hits, five walks, and three earned runs while striking out five in four innings of work. Mason Jervik came on in relief, allowing one walk in three innings while fanning three batters.

For CVH, Tucker Marts was the losing pitcher, allowing seven hits and eight runs in four innings of work.

Cole Edberg, Brennan Tople, Miles Eide, and Ethan Bobzin all collected hits in the loss.


Warner/Ipswich/Northville 12, Redfield Area 8

REDFIELD — Seven hits and nine RBIs from the first four batters in the order for WIN helped knock off Redfield Area Tuesday Night.

Levi Little and Alec Mikkelson provided the most juice for the WIN offense, combining for five hits, including three doubles, one walk, and seven RBIs in the victory.

Logan Fischbach, Xavier Kadlec, and Chays Mansfield all collected hits in the victory.

Fischbach started on the mound for WIN, surrendering seven hits, four walks, and five runs in almost four innings of work. Noah Bakeburg and Braydon Kroll came on in relief to close out the victory.

For Redfield Area, Erik Salmen threw five innings, allowing four hits, five walks, and seven runs.

Micah Zastrow, Eli Morrissette, and Noah Johnson combined for six hits, two doubles, and four RBIs in the loss.


Bennett County 3, Lead-Deadwood 2

MARTIN — Bennett County pitching duo combines for 12 strikeouts as the Warriors outlasted Lead-Deadwood Tuesday.

Shooter Frederick earned the victory on the mound for Bennett County, striking out seven in the first four innings while allowing three hits, three walks, and two runs. Gavin Risse came in relief of Frederick, allowing just one hit in the final three frames while striking out five.

The Bennett County offense included multi-hit days for Risse and Rush O’Neill, while Caysen Soderlin and Frederick each tallied hits.

For Lead-Deadwood, Levi Siewert was credited the loss, giving up six hits, three walks, and three runs while fanning five batters.

Drew Janke led the team in hits with two, including a double and a homerun, while Brady Rantapaa drove in another run with a second inning triple.


Gregory County 7, St. Thomas More 2

RAPID CITY — Gregory’s Rylan Peck throws six innings, while knocking in three runs to push Gregory County past St. Thomas More Tuesday night.

Peck finished 2-for-3 with a walk on the evening including a double and a triple, while throwing six innings, allowing five hits, three walks, two runs, and fanning eight batters in the win.

Jayder Schonebaum also tallied two hits while driving in two more runs.

For St. Thomas More, Turner Thompson earned the loss in five innings on the mound, allowing five hits, seven runs, and three walks while striking out six.

Chase Donnelly highlighted the offense for the Cavaliers, going 2-for-3 at the plate driving in the only two runs of the game.

Owen Ponto, Spencer Johannesen, and Marcus Stauffer each tallied hits in the loss.
