Dakota Valley 6, Parkston/Ethan 0

PARKSTON — Grady Ramos tossed 13 strikeouts as Dakota Valley upset Region 1B No. 1 Parkston/Ethan to advance to the Class B state tournament Wednesday.

Ramos allowed just one hit in a complete game shutout, walking four batters while striking out 13. Drew Lukken and Sterling Schauff each drove in two runs on one hit, Noah Graham added two hits while Ramos drove in a run on one hit in the win.

For PE, Carter Sommer allowed one run on four hits in 5.1 innings, striking out nine batters. Sommer also tallied the lone hit of the game for the Trojans.


Winner/Colome 10, St. Thomas More 0 (5 innings)

WINNER — Quincy Phillips drove in three runs as Winner/Colome shutout St. Thomas More in Region 4B action Wednesday.

Phillips tallied two hits, a triple and a walk driving in three runs, Landon Calhoon added two RBIs on one hit and one walk, Camdyn Anderson drove in a run on two hits, Carter McKenzie and Carter Foster each added RBIs on one hit while Adryan Brandis collected two hits in the win. Aiden Schroeder took the victory on the mound tossing five shutout innings, allowing just two hits while fanning seven batters.

For STM, Rush Turner took the loss allowing nine runs on eight hits and four walks, striking out four in four innings. Turner and Joe Giacametto each tallied hits in the loss for the Cavaliers.


Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake 6, Bennett County 3

GEDDES — Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake pounded 14 hits as the Honkers advanced in Region 4B action Wednesday.

Kenyon Kuiper and Keaton Christensen led the charge with three hits a piece, including a homer by Kuiper, driving in a combined three runs. Quincy Stephens tallied two hits, a double, and an RBI, Asher Kott added two hits while four other players each tallied hits in the win. Kuiper struck out 10 batters in 5.1 innings while allowing three runs on four hits and four walks to take the win on the mound.

For BC, Gavin Risse took the loss, surrendering six runs on 14 hits and three walks, striking out four in six innings. Rush O’Neill added two hits, a double, a walk and two RBIs in the loss for the Warriors.


Madison/Chester 6, Sisseton/Britton/Webster 0

MADISON — Ben Brooks’ no-hitter pushed Madison/Chester past Sisseton/Britton/Webster in Region 2B action Wednesday.
Brooks allowed just one walk and two hit batters in a complete game shutout, striking out six batters as well. Cohen Hahn, Tregg McGillivray and Quincy Kurtz each drove in runs for Madison/Chester while Carson Wolf tallied the lone hit of the game.

For SBW, Kaden Mills took the loss allowing six runs, one earned run, on one hit and three walks in four innings, striking out two.


Elk Point-Jefferson 7, Beresford Area 1

ELK POINT — Elk Point-Jefferson took advantage of eight Beresford Area errors to advance in Region 1B action Wednesday.

Keaton Gale led the Huskies with two RBIs on two hits, Nick Prouty and Ashton Fairbanks each drove in a run on one hit while four other batters collected a hit in the win. Brody Van Roekel earned the win on the mound allowing just one unearned run on five hits and two walks in seven innings, striking out six.

For Beresford, Ethan Bovill took the loss, surrendering seven runs on eight hits and a walk in six innings, striking out four. Kasen Voss drove in a run on two hits while Cooper Nelson, Bovill and Ian Henderson each tallied hits in the loss.


Dell Rapids 18, Colman-Egan/Flandreau 8 (6 innings)

DELL RAPIDS — Tad Tjaden drove in five runs as Dell Rapids took down Colman-Egan/Flandreau in Region 3B action.

Tjaden drove in five runs on three hits for the Quarriers, Drake Eastman added two RBIs on three walks and a hit, Cooper Frost drove in two runs on one hit, Cole Ruesink tallied three hits, two walks and an RBI while Tommy Lavoy and Jackson Peppel each drove in a run in the win. Eastman allowed just two runs on four hits and four walks in 3.1 innings for the Quarriers, striking out seven.

For CEF, Cameron Flute allowed five runs on three hits and two walks in 2.1 innings. Micah Otto and Emmett Skroch each drove in a run on two hits, Flute drove in two runs on one hit and one walk while Jaden Eng added one hit, one walk and one RBI in the loss.


Dakota Valley 5, Freeman/Canistota/Marion 1

PARKSTON — Noah Graham’s complete game on the mound pushed Dakota Valley past Freeman/Canistota/Marion in Region 1B action Wednesday.

Graham allowed just one unearned run on two hits and a walk in seven innings, striking out seven in the win. Grady Ramos drove in two runs on a double and a walk, Luke Bruns recorded an RBI on a hit and a walk while Jack Wiese tallied two hits as well.

For FCM, Riley Tschetter took the loss, surrendering five runs on four hits and three walks in five innings, striking out seven batters. Easton Tschetter and Oliver Waltner each tallied hits in the loss.


Belle Fourche 3, Gregory County 2 (8 innings)

WINNER — A Urijah Hamliton ground ball earned Belle Fourche a walk-off victory over Gregory County in extra innings Wednesday.

Graham VanderBoom drove in a run on two hits, Hamilton added an RBI-single while Harvey Walding drove in a run on two walks in the win. Caeyn Howard was the winning pitcher allowing two runs on eight hits and three walks in eight innings, striking out six batters.

For GC, Hudson Fuhrer allowed one run on two hits and two walks in seven innings, striking out nine in the loss. Lincoln Juracek drove in a run on two hits and a walk, Fuhrer and Jad Leber each tallied two hits while Jayder Schonebaum drove in a run on a double as well.


Rapid City Christian 18, Chamberlain/Kimball/Lyman 8 (6 innings)

GEDDES — Rapid City Christian scored 10 unanswered runs to pull out the mercy rule victory over Chamberlain/Kimball/Lyman in Region 4B action Wednesday.

Vander Von Eye, Benson Kieffer and Turner Tonkel each tallied two hits in the win, Trevor WIlcox drove in three runs on two hits, including a homer, Jackson Winter added two RBIs on three hits, including a double, Sully Kieffer drove in a run on two hits, one solo home run, and a walk while Joe Samuelson added an RBI single as well. Brice Gosch allowed five runs on two hits and six walks in 3.1 innings for the Comets, striking out four.

For CKL, Graden Holan allowed 13 runs on 10 hits and a walk in four innings, striking out five. Kruse Brennan led CKL with two hits, a double and three RBIs while Brayden Oldenkamp collected two hits in the loss as well.


Vermillion 4, Bon Homme 3

ELK POINT — Vermillion held off a late rally to advance in Region 1B action over Bon Homme Wednesday.

Nolan Nygren earned the win on the mound, allowing three runs on two hits and three walks in three innings of relief, striking out four batters. Tate Hage collected three hits and an RBI, Nygren drove in two runs on one hit while Matthew Roob, Connor Peterson and Karson Preister each tallied hits in the win.

BH’s Isaiah Crownover allowed four unearned runs on seven hits and two walks in 5.2 innings, striking out three. Crownover drove in two runs on one hit, Madden Merkwan drove in a run on a double and a walk while Cale Cooper added two hits in the loss.


Groton Area 7, Howard 1

MADISON — Nicholas Morris’ complete game outing pushed Groton Area past Howard in Region 2B action Wednesday.

Morris allowed just one run on seven hits and a walk in seven innings, striking out eight batters for the Tigers. Carter Simon drove in a run on two doubles, Gavin Englund and Morris each tallied an RBI while Lincoln Krause added two hits in the win.

Howard’s Korbin Shumaker tallied five runs allowed on four hits and three walks in three innings to take the loss. Luke Koepsell and Carson Hinker each had two hits while Kingsten Feldhaus drove in the lone run of the game for the Tigers.


Sioux Falls Christian/Sioux Falls Lutheran 7, Hanson/Bridgewater-Emery 4

ALEXANDRIA — Sioux Falls Christian/Sioux Falls Lutheran jumped out to a 7-1 lead to clinch a spot in the Class B state tournament.

Maddux Munson earned the victory on the mound allowing three runs on three hits and five walks in 5.2 innings, striking out 10 batters. Tate Connell drove in four runs on three hits, including a triple and a homer, Drew Weir tallied two RBIs on a double and a walk, Peter Samp added three hits, Gabe Long collected two hits, while Jake Humpal drove in a run on one hit as well.

For HBE, AJ Wilber allowed one run on three hits and two walks in 5.2 innings, striking out nine. Wilber also collected two hits, a double and a walk in the loss. Radek Jarding drove in a run on a walk as well.


Winner/Colome 3, Belle Fourche 2

WINNER — Winner/Colome’s three-run sixth inning propels the Royals to the Class B state tournament over Belle Fourche Wednesday.

Landon Calhoon earned the win on the mound in a complete game outing, allowing just two runs on six hits and three walks, striking out four. Quincy Phillips tallied two hits while Ryder Halligan drove in two runs on one hit in the win.

For Belle Fourche, Carsyn Hahne allowed three runs on four hits and a walk in three innings of relief. Gavin Pearson and Hahne each drove in a run on one hit and one walk in the loss.


Parkston/Ethan 7, Scotland/Menno 6 (8 innings)

PARKSTON — A walk-off hit-by-pitch pushed Parkston/Ethan past Scotland/Menno during Wednesday’s Region 1B action.

Kolter Kramer led the Trojans with four hits and a walk, Carter Sommer and Kash Neugebauer each drove in two runs on two hits and a walk, including a hit-by-pitch to Neuegebauer for the walk-off win. Mason Jervik tallied two RBIs on a double and a walk, while Kaden Holzbauer and Grady Bowar each had two hits in the win. Neugebauer allowed four runs on four hits and three walks in five innings pitched, striking out six.

For Scotland/Menno, Bryce Sattler allowed six runs on 10 hits and two walks in four innings, striking out three. Erick Buechler and Lane Pavel each tallied two RBIs on one, Trent Guthmiller had two hits while Jarret Andretta drove in a run on one hit in the loss.


West Central 13, Lennox 9

DELL RAPIDS — West Central cracked seven hits and drew 12 walks to advance in the Region 3B playoffs Wednesday night.

Hayes Cain led the Trojans batting 5-for-5 with 2 doubles and two RBIs, Keaton Vessells, Gunnar Alfson and Beckett Everson drove in a combined five runs on five walks and three hits, while Zach Lorang, CJ Denboer and Hayden Whiting each tallied RBIs on a combined four walks in the win. Denboer took the win on the mound allowing five runs on five hits and two walks in two innings pitched.

For Lennox, Sam Bambas allowed two runs on one hit and two walks in 4.1 innings to take the loss on the mound. Talen Eich drove in two runs on three hits and a walk, Jackson Anacker drove in two runs on a double and two walks while Jaxson Bittner, Cole Spieler, Bambas and Mason Reischl each drove in one run on one hit and a combined three walks in the loss.


Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake 7, Rapid City Christian 2

GEDDES — Seven different batters each drove in a run for Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake as the Honkers advanced to the Class B state tournament Wednesday.

Maddux VanZee, Kenyon Kuiper, Isaac Leader, Ashton Krumvieda, Asher Kott and Hayden Sprik each drove in a run on two hits while Jye Bailey drove in a run on one hit in the win. Keaton Christensen took the win on the mound allowing two unearned runs on five hits and two walks in seven innings pitched, striking out eight.

For RCC, Sam Tordsen allowed five runs on seven hits and a walk in four innings in the losing effort, striking out four batters. Trevor Wilcox drove in two runs on a double and a walk in the loss as well.


Elk Point-Jefferson 7, Vermillion 1

ELK POINT — Elk Point-Jefferson scored six runs in the first inning, taking down Vermillion to advance to the Class B state tournament.

Luke Swatek drove in two runs on two hits and a walk to lead the Huskies offense. Levi Hanson, Grayson Girard and Brody Van Roekel each drove in a run on one hit and a combined four walks, while Nick Prouty added an RBI on a walk in the win. Keaton Gale struck out seven batters in six innings, giving up just one run on four hits and a walk.

Vermillion’s Jack Moskowitz allowed six runs on five hits and six walks in four innings, striking out four in the losing effort. Hayden Christopherson tallied two hits while Tate Hage drove in a run on a double in the loss.


Madison/Chester 6, Groton Area 1

MADISON — JD Prorok and Quincy Kurtz combined for 17 strikeouts as Madison/Chester earned its spot in the Class B state tournament Wednesday.

Prorok struck out 11 batters in five innings, allowing just one run on five hits and two walks, while Kurtz closed the final two innings with six strikeouts, allowing just one hit and one walk for the win. Ben Brooks powered the MC bats with three hits, a double and two RBIs, Jordan Pedersen drove in two runs on one hit and one walk while Quinn Flemming added an RBI on a walk as well.

For Groton Area, Jarrett Erdmann took the loss, surrendering six runs on five hits and five walks in 5.1 innings, striking out three. Brevin Fliehs drove in a run on two hits while Lincoln Krause tallied two hits in the loss.

 

Dell Rapids 5, West Central 0

DELL RAPIDS — Tad Tjaden struck out 18 batters as the top-seeded Dell Rapids Quarriers defeated West Central, advancing to the Class B state tournament.

Tjaden allowed just one hit and one walk in 94 pitches while striking out 18 batters in the win. Talan Millage drove in two runs on two hits, Ryan Brandenburg drove in a run on one hit and one walk while Jackson Peppel drove in a run on one walk in the win.

For West Central, Gunnar Alfson took the loss, suffering two runs on three hits and three walks in three innings, striking out three. Alfson also recorded the only hit of the game for the Trojans.
