May 6 Softball Roundup - Keely Merrigan powers Beresford past Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy

Beresford 16, Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy 4

FREEMAN — A big game from Keely Merrigan helped Beresford earn a win over Freeman in girls softball action Monday. 

Merrigan scored four runs, delivered three hits and drove in five runs to lead the Watchdog offense. Anna Latendresse scored three runs on two hits while Ivy Keiser had four hits. Brynlee Mohning picked up the win giving up four hits and four runs through four innings.

Claire Loofbourrow led the Phoenix at the plate, scoring two runs on one hit and driving in a run. Cadence Hofer took the loss for Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy. 


Gayville-Volin 16, Avon 2

AVON — Teresa Stockman’s big day at the plate helped power Gayville-Volin to a win over Avon in girls softball action Monday.

Stockman drove in five runs on two hits while also scoring two runs. Maia Achen, Kendra Beeck-Waterman, Ayla Dimmer and Aliza Westrum each had two hits for Gayville-Volin. Ayla Dimmeri got the win going five innings, giving up seven hits and two runs. 

Rilyn Thury led Avon at the plate, scoring one run on one hit while driving in two runs. Macy Voight added two hits for the Pirates. 


Viborg-Hurley 15, Colman-Egan 2

COLMAN — Viborg-Hurley pounded out 15 hits on their way to a win over Colman-Egan in girls softball action Monday. 

Lexi Lindemannn picked up the win going five innings while giving up three hits and two runs. Lindemann also scored a run and had three hits while driving in two runs. Charley Helso scored three runs on three hits and drove in a run. 

Kinzley Shafer scored both runs for the Hawks with one hit and a walk. Maebe Groos and Savanna Schmidt each had hits for Colman-Egan.


Alcester-Hudson 17, Chester 2

ALCESTER — The Alcester-Hudson bats ground out 20 hits on their way to a win over Chester in girls softball action Monday. 

Emma Moller picked up the win pitching four innings, giving up four hits and two runs. Moller also led at the plate, scoring three runs on three hits while driving in two runs. Paxtyn Moller and Jenna Manning each delivered three hits with Manning driving in four runs. 

Jacy Wolf and Ramsie Shoenrock each scored runs for the Flyers. Shoenrock, Wolf, Makaylan Borecky, Alexis Bauman and Kaitlyn Swenson each had hits for Chester.
