Miller boys, Chamberlain girls win titles at Miller Booster Club Meet

MILLER — The Miller boys and Chamberlain girls earned team titles at Tuesday’s Miller Booster Club Meet. 

The Miller boys logged 96 points, finishing ahead of Wolsey-Wessington (93) and Winner (93). The Chamberlain girls racked up 136 points, finishing in front of Wolsey-Wessington (118) and Winner (86).

In boys action, Miller’s Isaak Hunter was a double winner in the 110-meter hurdles (:16.44) and 300-meter hurdles (:43.54). 

Miller’s Colby Kolda won the 100-meter dash (:11.57) and anchored the winning 400-meter relay (:46.35). The Miller quartet of Kord VanZee, Kolda, Joseph Baker and Alex Schumacher won the sprint medley relay (3:45.55). 

Schumacher won the 1,600-meter run in 4:32.26 and Miller’s Pierce Baumberger placed second in the 3,200-meter run (10:31.09)

Wolsey-Wessington’s Caleb Richmond won the 400-meter dash (:52.62) and placed third in the 800-meter dash (2:02.28). Moshe Richmond placed second in the 400-meter dash (:54.57) and third in the high jump (5-6). 

Northwestern’s Lincoln Woodring placed second in the 1,600-meter run (4:42.12)

Cheyenne-Eagle Butte’s Jayden Taken Alive won the 3,200-meter run (10:26.03) and placed third in the 1,600-meter run (4:50.52).

Winner’s Shawn Hammerbeck won the shot put (47-10), discus (145-6.25) and placed sixth in the javelin (123-5). 

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket’s Jeffery Boschee won the high jump (6-4) and placed second in the long jump (18-5.75). 

Stanley County’s Paxton Deal won the long jump (19-3) and Northwestern’s Ty Boekelheide won the triple jump (41-3.5). Stanley County’s Barret Schweitzer won the javelin (140-3). 

In girls action, Winner’s Keelie Kuil won the 100-meter dash (:12.94), 200-meter dash (:26.89) and anchored the winning 400-meter relay (:52.49). 

Northwestern’s Ella Boekelheide won the 800-meter run (2:23.50) and 1,600-meter run (5:11.31). Chamberlain’s Kinsey Evans finished second in the 1,600-meter run (5:21.28) and anchored the winning sprint medley relay (4:29.46). 

Kimball/White Lake’s Autumn Baker (12:00.71), Lily Baker (12:15.88) and Alli McCord (12:16.24) finished first-through-third, respectively, in the 3,200-meter run. The trio, along with Kaitlyn Priebe, won the 3,200-meter relay (10:22.75). 

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket’s Elizabeth Boschee won the 100-meter hurdles (:17.02), 300-meter hurdles (:49.91) and long jump (14-8). Boschee finished second in the high jump (4-8). 

The Sunshine Bible Academy girls won the 800-meter relay (1:54.07) and 1,600-meter relay (4:20.04). 

Wessington Springs’ Avery Orth won the shot put (38-10) and Miller’s Joanlei Baker won the discus (106-6.25). Baker finished third in the shot put (32-5). 

Chamberlain’s Tobi Peterson won the javelin (104-5), placed second in the shot put (36-3.5) and discus (105-2.5).
