Philip boys win Marlene Gustafson/Ryan Day cross-country meet
The Philip boys cross-country team won the Marlene Gustafson/Ryan Day Memorial Meet on Friday.

FAITH --- The Philip boys captured the team title at Friday's Marlene Gustafson/Ryan Day Memorial Meet.

The Scotties, who had the three top finishers, recorded 15 points to earn the team title and was the only team to score in the standings. Tukker Boe covered the 5,000-meter distance at Faith Golf Course in 18 minutes and 39.39 seconds. Philip's Wakely Burns (19:01.99) and Trey Larson (19:04.13) finished second and third, respectively. McLaughlin's Jayden Taken Alive (19:22.03) and Philip's Asher Peterson (19:47.89) rounded out the top-five runners.

In the girls race, Lemmon's Jordyn Kohn was the individual winner in 22:31.36. Kohn's teammate, Brynn Odenbach, placed second in 23:14.53. Philip's Presley Terkildsen (23:45.69), Drew Terkildsen (23:50.93) and Newell's Rachel Erk (23:53.66) rounded out the top-five finishers.
