Rapid City Stevens’ Elias Gillen (offensive) and Sturgis’ Kalvin Ketelsen (defensive) were named MVPs of the inaugural Black Hills Class 11AAA and Class 11AA all-area teams. 

The Black Hills all-area teams consist of Class 11AAA and Class 11AA teams Douglas, Rapid City Central, Rapid City Stevens, Spearfish and Sturgis. 

Each year there will be 22 players, 11 from offense and 11 from defense, selected to represent the Black Hills Area Class 11AAA and Class 11AA schools on the all-area team. 

There will be up to 10 honorable mentions and an MVP for both sides of the ball.
