Bennett County 3, Lyman 0 

PRESHO — Bennett County swept Lyman in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 26-24, 25-20 and 25-17.

Bennett County stats were not reported.

Lyman’s Jordyn Scott totaled 11 kills, 16 digs and two aces. Mak Scott added eight kills and 14 digs. Bree Smart had 18 assists and 12 digs. Claire Griffith finished with three kills and 13 digs. Kenzie Wagner had three kills and seven digs. Brooke Montgomery had nine digs and three aces. 


Chester 3, Garretson 0

CHESTER — Class B No. 1 Chester swept Garretson in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-9, 25-7 and 25-12.

Chester’s Jacy Wolf finished with 11 kills, three aces and eight assists. Lily VanHal added 17 assists, eight kills, six aces, 10 digs and one block. Gracie Huntimer totaled 12 digs. 

For Garretson, Maddie Waltman finished with four kills and three blocks. Vivian Johnson added four assists and six digs. Alyssa Garcia and Bryn Stiefvater had two aces apiece. 


Northwestern 3, Waubay/Summit 0 

WAUBAY — Class B No. 2 Northwestern swept Waubay/Summit in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-13, 25-9 and 25-15.

Northwestern’s Ashley Haven finished with 20 kills and eight digs. Ella Boekelheide added 22 assists, five kills and two aces. Lila Johnson finished with 12 digs, four kills and seven assists. Sophia Troske totaled three aces. Breelyn Satter had eight digs and four blocks. Kylee Henjum and Taylor Vetter had two blocks apiece. 

Waubay/Summit stats were not reported. 


Colman-Egan 3, Gayville-Volin 0 

COLMAN — Colman-Egan swept Class B No. 5 Gayville-Volin in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 26-24, 25-17 and 25-23.

CE’s Brynlee Landis finished with 11 kills, 12 digs and three aces. Landis also recorded her 1,000th career dig. Finley Luze totaled 13 assists, eight kills and four blocks. Caelee LeBrun posted seven kills, four blocks and eight digs. Mya Reiff had three blocks. Hannah Grann posted eight assists. Michoen Williamson added four blocks.

For GV, Aliza Westrum finished with six kills and five blocks. Jolie Westrum finished with three kills, six digs and three blocks. Paisley Dimmer posted eight kills and three digs. Kendra Beeck posted 24 assists, six digs, and two blocks. Maia Achen totaled nine kills and two digs. Kayden Bye had two kills and three blocks.


Alcester-Hudson 3, Centerville 2

CENTERVILLE — Alcester-Hudson edged Centerville in a five-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 19-25, 25-21, 25-23, 14-25 and 18-16.

AH’s Emma Solberg finished with 10 kills, six blocks and three aces. Delta Pies posted 10 kills, eight blocks and six digs. Emily Winquist posted six kills and 13 digs. Ayonna Schissel had six kills and 19 digs. Paxtyn Moller added five kills, three blocks, three assists, 15 digs and two aces. Sydney Keiser had three blocks, 23 assists, 15 digs and two aces. 

For Centerville, Lillee Shearer had 15 kills and two blocks. Izzie Eide added 12 kills, 19 digs and eight blocks. Ashlyn Hagena had nine kills and four blocks. Clarice Kirk posted 20 digs. Lydia Austin added 17 digs and two aces. Brea Austin posted 14 digs and two aces. Hailey Childress added 33 assists and two digs. 


Highmore-Harrold 3, Iroquois/Lake Preston 1

HIGHMORE — Highmore-Harrold defeated Iroquois/Lake Preston in a four-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 27-25, 25-17, 18-25 and 25-11.

HH’s Jada Baloun finished with 11 kills. Addison McDonnell posted four aces, 10 kills and two blocks. Lainee Ping posted 23 digs. Tenley McDonnell had one block, 17 digs and 23 assists. Carly Stephenson had 10 assists, two blocks and one ace. 

For ILP, Hadlee Holt recorded 11 kills and three aces. Bentlee Holt recorded six kills and 18 digs. Madison Steffenson had 11 digs. Sydney Bonomi had 18 assists and three aces. 


North Central 3, Timber Lake 0

TIMBER LAKE — North Central swept Timber Lake in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-6, 25-9 and 25-16.

North Central’s Amree Vander Vorst finished with 13 kills and seven digs. Ella Batie recorded six kills. Lindsey Geier had four kills and three digs. Alaina Dosch added 10 digs. Camryn Witlock finished with 12 assists.

Timber Lake stats were not reported. 


Clark/Willow Lake 3, Deuel 0

DEUEL — Class A No. 4 Clark/Willow Lake swept Deuel in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-17, 25-18 and 25-23.

CWL’s Shelby Begeman finished with eight kills. Ella Sass recorded 14 kills and six blocks. Zoe Nichols totaled 23 assists and one ace. Kadee Frankfurth had eight digs. Calla Larson totaled six blocks.

For Deuel, Lauryn Peterreins finished with 11 kills and seven digs. Camdyn Petterreins finished with four kills and one block. Tory Engebretson had three kills. Braylin Kreger finished with 14 assists. Gracyn Gohring totaled eight assists. Ella Kervliet posted 22 digs and two assists. Alayna Carlson had three blocks.


Redfield 3, Milbank 0

MILBANK — Redfield swept Milbank during Thursday’s high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-17, 25-14 and 25-22.

Redfield’s Kinley Smith tallied 12 kills and eight blocks, Cecilia Suchor added five kills, nine digs and four blocks, Brynn Giblin added four kills and five blocks, Layla Hardie dished out 10 assists while Hayden Gall added nine assists and two aces while Katryn Evans led the team in digs with 19.

For Milbank, Bree Townsend had seven kills, Belle Pauli added four kills, Avery Schuneman had four kills, seven assists and 18 digs, Violet Johsnon added seven assists and an ace while Addison Pauli collected 14 digs in the loss.


Wagner 3, Kimball/White Lake 0 

KIMBALL — Wagner swept Kimball/White Lake in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-20, 25-16 and 25-14.

Wagner’s Ashlyn Koupal finished with 12 kills. Ravyn Medricky tallied nine kills, 10 digs, three aces and one block. Braxton Nedved added 33 assists, 14 digs and four aces. Hannah Holzbauer finished with eight kills, 15 digs and three aces. Libby Kotab posted 18 digs.


Viborg-Hurley 3, Howard 0

VIBORG — Viborg-Hurley swept Howard in straight sets during Thursday’s volleyball action. The set scores were 28-26, 25-16 and 25-15.

VH’s Presley Skonhovd tallied 10 kills and two blocks, Olivia Hanson added eight kills, eight digs and two aces, Tatum Hauger had five kills, Brooklyn Kessler tallied eight assists, six digs and two aces, Isabella Voog had 12 digs, Hayley Voog netted nine digs while Lexie Wetering had seven assists and four digs in the win.

Howard’s stats were not reported.


Hamlin 3, Webster Area 0

HAYTI — Hamlin swept Webster Area in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-10, 25-15 and 25-11.

Hamlin’s Addie Jensen posted 12 kills and four blocks. Addie Neuendorf posted 10 kills and nine digs. Jade Thue posted nine kills. Issie Steffensen finished with 32 assists and four digs. Jayci Trowbridge had eight digs and three aces. Ella Smith finished with three aces. Kayde Nebel totaled four blocks. 

Webster Area stats were not reported. 


Sioux Falls Christian 3, Dakota Valley 0

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Class A No. 2 Sioux Falls Christian swept Class A No. 3 Dakota Valley in Thursday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-16, 25-23 and 26-24.

SFC’s Tavyn Sichmeller finished with 15 kills. Jayla Overman tallied four blocks. Meredith Nelson had four blocks, 35 assists, 12 digs and three aces. Jasmine Vander Haar had 10 digs. 

DV’s Claire Munch finished with 20 kills. Sammy Kimball added seven kills and three blocks. Maddie Munch posted 27 assists. Corin Kimball added 14 digs. Taylor Piel posted four blocks and Skylar Anderson had two aces.


Madison 3, Tri-Valley 1

MADISON — Madison defeated Tri-Valley in a four-set high school volleyball match on Thursday. The set scores were 25-10, 22-25, 25-18 and 25-21.

Madison’s Lydia Nelson finished with 13 kills, 17 digs and four blocks. Jaya Engels finished with 15 kills and three aces. Ella Malone posted 17 digs and three blocks. Karley Theede posted 37 assists and two aces. Mara Klingbile had 12 digs. Macie Rinehart posted two aces. 

For Tri-Valley, Emry Jones finished with 10 kills and three aces. Brooke Steineke added 15 digs, nine kills and four aces. Kadence Davey posted 13 digs. Emily Wenzel had 25 assists and two blocks. Dylann King posted one block. 


Brandon Valley 3, Sioux Falls Jefferson 1

BRANDON — Class AA No. 2 Brandon Valley defeated Sioux Falls Jefferson in four sets in Thursday’s high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-11, 25-22, 17-25 and 25-23.

BV’s Abby Gruber had 15 kills, Mya VanWesten tallied 27 digs, Riya Sheley had three blocks, Logan McGuire dished out 44 assists while Jersie Melcher totaled three aces in the win.
