Mount Vernon/Plankinton 3, Redfield 2

PLANKINTON — Mount Vernon/Plankinton edged Redfield in a five-set high school volleyball match on Tuesday. The set scores were 22-25, 25-11, 20-25, 26-25 and 15-7.

MVP’s Reagan Rus logged 20 kills, five aces and two blocks. Madalynn Lorang added 10 kills. Alyssa Johnson posted 33 assists and Berkeley Engelland added 24 digs. Clara Fink posted three aces. 

For Redfield, Katie Rozell finished with 15 kills and three blocks. Hayden Gall had 27 assists and Chloe Zens recorded 28 digs. 


Miller 3, Northwestern 2

MELLETTE — Miller outlasted Class B No. 3 Northwestern in a five-set high school volleyball thriller on Tuesday. The set scores were 16-25, 25-19, 26-24, 20-25 and 15-12.

Miller’s Paige Werdel finished with 18 kills, while Aleah Schlechter finished with 13 kills, 31 digs and three blocks. Shaylee Anderberg logged nine kills, 26 digs and two aces. Heather Resel had 45 assists and three aces. Jolie Palmer posted 24 digs and four aces. Gracen Werdel had three blocks.

For Northwestern, Ashley Haven finished with 13 kills, 35 digs and one solo block. Payton Grandpre finished with 10 kills. Ana Ratigan added eight kills. Tara Blachford added six aces, while Ella Boekelheide posted 35 assists. Taylor Vetter finished with 24 digs 


Winner 3, Lyman 0

WINNER — The Winner girls picked up a straight sets win over Lyman in high school volleyball action Tuesday. Set scores were 25-21, 25-18 and 25-15.

The Warriors were paced by Lexi Klein who had 17 assists and 16 digs and two aces. Keelie Kuil finished with a team leading 11 kills, a block and three block assists. Adysen Pravecek had 12 digs while Karlee Brozik had a block and two block assists.

Lyman stats were not reported. 

 

Wagner 3, Avon 0

AVON — Class A No. 3 Wagner swept Avon in straight sets in Tuesday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-16, 25-21 and 25-16.

Wagner’s Ashlyn Koupal collected 12 kills and 10 digs. Kya Kjeldgaard added 11 kills and four aces. Madi Knebel recorded 15 digs. Macy Koupal dished out 36 assists and one ace. Aubrey Medricky posted three blocks and Shona Kocer added two blocks. Ravyn Medricky posted a block. 

For Avon, Courtney Sees logged eight kills, 10 digs and one ace. Lila Vanderlei added four kills and 10 digs. Rilyn Thury added three kills. Jordyn Voigt and Lexi Vanderlei had 12 digs apiece. McKenna Kocmich posted 18 assists. 


Burke 3, Corsica-Stickney 0

BURKE — Burke swept Corsica-Stickney in straight sets in Tuesday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-19, 25-18 and 25-14.

Burke’s Kailee Frank finished with 12 digs, eight kills and four aces. Emmie Hausmann added eight kills, while Paige Bull posted nine kills and one block. Elle Johnson recorded 18 digs. Ava Sargent chipped in with eight digs and 16 assists, while she recorded her 1,000th career assist. Bridge Eliason had nine assists. Piper Hanson added two blocks. Olivia Bull and Hausmann each had blocks. 

Corsica-Stickney stats were not reported. 


Arlington 3, Waverly-South Shore 0

ARLINGTON — Arlington swept Waverly-South Shore in straight sets Tuesday in high school volleyball action. Set scores were 25-6, 25-10 and 25-14. 

The Cardinals were powered by Addie Steffensen who led with nine kills. Isabelle Steffensen dished out 28 assists while Jo Steffensen had seven kills and seven aces. Harley Johnson finished with seven kills and 14 digs. 

Waverly-South Shore stats were not reported. 


Scotland 3, Andes Central/Dakota Christian 1

LAKE ANDES — It took four sets but the Scotland girls earned a win over Andes Central/Dakota Christian in high school volleyball Tuesday. Set scores were 25-19, 25-22, 15-25 and 25-16. 

The Highlanders were paced by Trinity Bietz who had 15 kills, three blocks, four digs and two aces. Nora Robb led with 26 assists but also added three blocks, five digs and two aces. Kallin 

Odens had a team high five aces while contributing five kills and seven blocks. 

Mahpiya Irving led Andes Central/Dakota Christian with 27 assists, three kills and two blocks. Ona’ka Doren had 17 assists, two kills and two aces while Abigail Svatos had five kills and nine blocks. 


Canistota 3, Hanson 2

HANSON — Canistota picked up a win over Hanson in a five-set thriller in Tuesday night high school volleyball action. Set scores were 25-19, 22-25, 18-25, 25-23 and 19-17.

Sierra McGregor paced Canistota with 15 kills, five blocks and six digs. Natalie Becker had 43 digs while Natalie Hofer had six kills, 22 assists and 15 digs. Ember Schenkel had 11 kills and 22 digs while Emma Sandman had nine kills and six digs. 

For Hanson Kylie Haiar led the hitters with 11 kills and four blocks while also contributing seven digs. Cadence Jarding handed out 32 assists to go along with 13 digs and an ace. Claire Bridge and Taziah Hawkins combined for 47 digs on defense. 


Milbank 3, Waubay/Summit 0

SUMMIT — Milbank earned a road win with a straight set win over Waubay/Summit in high school volleyball action Tuesday. Set scores were 25-21, 25-15 and 25-13. 

Waubay/Summit was led by Kylee Marx who had four kills, seven digs and two aces. Faith Larson added two kills and two aces while Brianna Lindholm had an ace and 25 assists. Lizzy Purdy added a kill and seven digs. 

Milbank stats were not reported. 


Madison 3, Ethan 0

MADISON — Madison swept Ethan in straight sets in Tuesday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-19, 25-13 and 25-20.

Madison’s Audrey Nelson finished with 21 kills, six blocks and two aces. Lydia Nelson posted seven kills, while Amanda Vacanti had seven aces and 12 digs. Callie McDermott posted 12 digs. Karley Theede added 30 assists. 

For Ethan, Ava Lingemann recorded nine kills and one ace. Claire Mellegaard had six kills. Rachel Klock had an ace. Rachel Weisz recorded 10 digs and Maddy Bartscher posted 19 assists. 


Harrisburg 3, Dakota Valley 1

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Class AA No. 1 Harrisburg defeated Class A No. 2 Dakota Valley in a Tuesday high school volleyball match. The set scores were 25-16, 22-25, 27-25 and 25-13.

Harrisburg’s Gabi Zachariasen finished with 23 kills and two blocks. Kennedy Kokenga added 11 kills, four aces and two blocks. Bergen Stiff posted five blocks. Josalyn Samuels recorded 41 assists and six aces. Maggie Meister added 15 digs.

For Dakota Valley, Claire Munch finished with 15 kills and 14 digs. Sophie Tuttle added 13 kills and 14 digs. Sammy Kimball logged five kills and two blocks. Bria Perryman posted 15 assists and four digs. Jacee Squire had 11 assists and six digs. Reagan Granstrom logged 17 digs. 


Dell Rapids 3, Canton 0

DELL RAPIDS — Class A No. 4 Dell Rapids swept Canton in Tuesday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-19, 31-29 and 25-22.

Dell Rapids’ Madalynn Henry finished with 14 kills, 15 digs and two aces. Lauryn Kloth added 13 kills, six blocks and four aces. Sophi Randall finished with 33 assists and Alaina Wolff posted 21 digs. 

For Canton, Kiara King and Mary Plucker had four kills apiece. Landree Meister posted 13 assists. Plucker added two aces. Carmyn Peterson logged 12 digs and Jenna VandeWeerd had six blocks.


Sioux Falls Christian 3, Vermillion 0

SIOUX FALLS — Class No. 1 Sioux Falls Christian swept Vermillion in straight sets in Tuesday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-14, 25-17 and 25-11.

Sioux Falls Christian’s Sidney Oostra and Taylor Byl finished with 11 kills apiece. Oostra added five digs. Brietta Tims added nine kills and Maggie Keepers posted four aces. Addisen Barber recorded 36 assists. Tims and Tavyn Sichmeller each had a block. 

For Vermillion, Serena Gapp and Brooklyn Voss each had two kills. Josie Askew and Brooke Jensen had two blocks apiece. Georgia Johnson had three aces. Brooke VanDrongelen and Voss had 21 and 14 digs, respectively. Johnson had 63 assists. 


Mobridge-Pollock 3, Timber Lake 0

MOBRIDGE — Mobridge-Pollock swept Timber Lake in Tuesday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-13, 25-11 and 25-13.

Mobridge-Pollock’s Raelyn Aberle finished with nine kills, five digs and one ace. Ryli Thompson added nine kills, five digs and two aces. Charley Henderson recorded nine kills, one block and one ace. Sophia Overland finished with three digs, four kills and 11 assists. Katy Kemnitz posted 17 assists. Reagan Weisbeck posted two aces and seven digs. 

For Timber Lake, Jasmine Nash recorded six kills and two blocks. Sara Holzer added five kills and one ace. Kendyl Locken logged 14 assists. Averie Marshall and Kessa Bigger posted 22 and 13 digs, respectively. 


Hitchcock-Tulare 3, Aberdeen Christian 0

ABERDEEN — Hitchcock-Tulare swept Aberdeen Christian in straight sets in high school volleyball action Tuesday. Set scores were 25-22, 25-8 and 25-21. 

The Patriots got a big night from Katelyn Schroeder who led with 13 kills while adding an ace and seven digs. Lila Johnson led with 26 assists while Ella Johnson had ten aces. Cambree Hockman had three solo blocks and four block assists. 

Aberdeen Christian stats were not reported. 


Lennox 3, Elk Point-Jefferson 2

ELK POINT — Lennox knocked off Elk Point-Jefferson in a five-set thriller in Tuesday night high school volleyball action. Set scores were 14-25, 26-28, 25-18, 25-23 and 15-12.

The Orioles were led by the hitting of Ella Grengs and Dani Highum who both had 15 kills. Grengs also dished out 18 assists with Lillian Meyer finishing with 25 assists. Ashlee Sweeter had four aces and ten digs. 

Courtney Brewer led Elk Point-Jefferson with 34 assists and 13 digs. Ashley Brewer led with 13 kills while adding three digs and three blocks. Bentlee Kolibaum had a solid night with 11 kills, 16 digs and four blocks. 


Florence-Henry 3, Clark/Willow Lake 0

WILLOW LAKE — Florence-Henry swept Clark/Willow Lake in Tuesday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-16, 26-24 and 25-22.

Florence-Henry’s Taylor Watson and Caylin Kelly put down 16 kills apiece. Kelly added 24 digs and three blocks. Kaija Gusso logged 31 assists, 21 digs and three aces. Kate Hulscher added three blocks and MaShia McQuinn posted one ace. 


Bridgewater-Emery 3, Freeman 0

EMERY — Bridgewater-Emery swept Freeman in Tuesday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-21, 25-19 and 25-23.

Bridgewater-Emery’s Oakley Weber finished with nine kills, 14 assists and two aces. Hayden Hofer posted seven kills, five aces and 11 assists. Lexi Golder logged eight kills and one ace. Kennedie Roskens had 15 digs and Sierra Weber posted five kills.

Freeman stats were not reported. 


Sioux Valley 3, De Smet 0

VOLGA — Sioux Valley swept De Smet in Tuesday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-13, 25-15 and 25-18.

The Cossacks were powered by Adison Renkly who had 14 kills, seven digs and a block. Machaela Gerasch led with 38 assists while Kaedyn Sapp had 15 digs and six kills. Talya Vincent had 10 digs while Emma Gorvin had five kills and two digs. 

Hazel Luethmers led De Smet with nine kills and six digs. Megan Dylla handed out 31 assists while having seven digs, an ace and a kill. 


Baltic 3, West Central 0

HARTFORD — Baltic swept West Central in Tuesday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-15, 25-11 and 25-10.

West Central’s Maddy Ingalls and Kaia Gabbert finished with four and three kills, respectively. Jocelyn Nilson logged 16 digs and Avery Nothdurft posted nine digs. Ellie Lienhard and Marissa Dobbs had seven and five assists, respectively. Landry Heath had an ace. 

Baltic stats were not reported. 

 

Rapid City Christian 3, Philip 0

RAPID CITY — Rapid City Christian swept Philip in Tuesday high school volleyball action. The set scores were  25-21, 25-18 and 25-18.

Rapid City Christian’s Faith King finished with 19 assists, 15 kills, 18 digs and three aces. Ana Egge added 13 kills, 10 digs and five aces. Chloe Weber had 11 digs, seven kills and one ace. Kendall Glassbrenner finished with eight kills. Moriah Coyle added 16 assists and five digs. Sophie DeWitt had seven digs and two assists. 

Philip stats were not reported.

Sunshine Bible Academy 3, Crow Creek 0

MILLER — Sunshine Bible Academy swept Crow Creek in a Tuesday high school volleyball match. The set scores were 25-15, 25-15 and 25-17.

Sunshine Bible Academy’s Sadie Konechne finished with nine kills and one ace. Annaliese Van Zee added six kills and three blocks. Addison Pearl posted four aces. Betra Amare and Abby Hinman posted five assists apiece. Lydia Lo recorded two blocks. 

Crow Creek stats were not available. 


Castlewood 3, Deuel 0

DEUEL — Castlewood picked up a win in high school volleyball with a three set sweep over Deuel on Tuesday. Set scores were 25-19, 25-15 and 25-12. 

Leading Castlewood Tuesday was Presley Knecht who had a team leading 22 kills to go along with seven digs. Gracie Haug dished out 35 assists while Emerson Carter led with three aces and eight kills. Kellyn Larson finished with a team leading 17 digs. 

Josie Andersen paced Deuel with five kills, an ace and five assists. Sara Kreger had an ace and five assists while Hope Bjerke finished with an ace and two blocks. 


Brookings 3, Brandon Valley 0

BROOKINGS — Brookings swept Brandon Valley in straight sets in Tuesday high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-23, 25-21 and 29-27.

Brandon Valley’s Jayaunna Stroh logged 13 kills and four aces, while Sydney Benson posted 21 digs. Alli Gawarecki added 14 digs. Abby Gruber posted four blocks and Riya Sheley chipped in with 23 assists. Lexi Gawarecki added 14 digs.  

Brookings stats were not reported.
